How not to be a salt farmer or a wasteful grower tips

Another thing with mold/mildew detected early and chopping. Normally I’d hang whole branches for first stage of drying after wet trimming. Instead I’ll be carefully examining every bud as I trim and separating so that I can cull any signs of mold, treat the buds with citric acid and putting buds into netted 8 level hanging net for first stage of drying. This way I can make sure the mold doesn’t spread. Only ever had to do this once before and it worked well so I don’t anticipate any problems.

By eyeball I’m guessing momma will come in closer to 11z after cure. For the other 3 test clones guessing about 12z combined. We shall see after the cure.
All pots were saturated with roots growing through the bottom:

And fortunately caught it very early so only had to cull 2z from all 4 plants combined

Been contemplating the mold issue because although I ran into it twice before, it never happened to me in the Northeast before. Basically what I’ve been doing for many years is to start treating with citric acid at the first sign of small buds forming and then 3 weeks later, then two weeks later then weekly till the end with no problem. Since I had so much rain this year obviously that schedule isn’t quite good enough. I’ve seen mention on using canola oil spray which I’m contemplating trying but my only concern is that it my impact resins since similar things like butter and coconut oil are commonly used extraction methods for edibles and so forth. Thoughts? Increase frequency of citric acid, use canola option, a combination, or something else entirely??? Feedback appreciated…

On a happy note, the kosher kush and two tora bora from my bean bonanza are still doing fine having been growing in the same environment so definitely have a better resistance or it’s just because they’re much smaller. The KK I know is more resistant because I have a lot of experience with it but to confirm TB I’d need to veg a couple much longer to see how a larger one in my space would do under similar conditions or at least indoors to confirm.

please don’t be shy about pointing things out I post that you disagree with. I just came across some info that @InTheShed shared that disproved to me that using trichomes as a primary indicator for harvest time is most likely bunk. I’m more than willing to adjust my opinion based on new knowledge and evidence. And, I promise I will be way more grateful than butt hurt. Plus it helps all of us :)

My thought was the .3% canola was so little oil it would be unnoticed. InThe Shed has been using the method for some time now and I trust he wouldn't accept poor results. That and he usually has information to back up a thing like this.

Oh good I see you found Shed's place! Sharing information can be fun and interesting,.

So I tested a quick dry sample. I have no palate for identifying flavors accurately, especially when it’s so harsh so I won’t even attempt that. As for the effects and potency I can say that I’m very pleasantly surprised at how good it is overall. One bong sample smoke effects lasted respectively compared to similar strains I’ve had. It started with a very relaxed feeling to the point of a comfortable light-headedneas and overall not quite couch locked relaxation. From there you graduate to an ironic state of feeling extremely relaxed yet wide awake and ready to go. It was also a great enhancer in terms of late night adult activities. Finally it didn’t give me the munchies yet Gave me the feeling I had a need to fulfill, yet without the manic need to indulge :) Didn’t necessarily help or harm the sleep schedule other than allowing me to stay up and letting me fall to sleep peacefully on my own terms

Nice report 😎✌️

Looks tasty🥰
Looking forward to trying her out. Hoping the rest of her can keep going without any rot issues like the GGs had to be chopped a little early for. So far so good for TB and KK…

The two tora bora got chopped today, kosher kush and crispy getting chopped next week or so…

Gonna have to post pics but ran into something I’ve never seen in almost 16 years when chopping the TBs. Got to chop them when I wanted because they never showed rot issues; however, a couple of the Colas had a small hole in the stem I noticed when I chopped and there was a small section on both that looked like a bunch of eggs and a small larvae worm looking thing came out of one of them so I took the buds off the stems to be safe. I’ll post pics of at least the holes, anyone else ever have this?

Yep, borer of some kind. I got lots of them this year. I treated with beauveria bassiaera and I think it killed them after a while. A bulge did develop though with poop balls like you described.

Busy, busy week. Between addition and other work I’ve been too tired to do much of anything else lately :) However, I did make time to taste the tora bora sample. It will definitely be good for daytime oil. At first it kicked in with a very heady floating in clouds type effect that graduated into me imagining myself being like Travolta in Saturday Night Fever with all the energy I had. It was decent enough but needed a KK follow up to get relaxed, a little too heady for my taste. But I’m good with making some daytime concentrate blends with it.
