How I perform low stress training on my plants: Lots of pics!

I never upcan my autos, but I know a lot who do. I would try to stick to one if possible, because stress can send an auto into flower.

Some autos don't get tall enough for LST before they start to show pistils, so it can be hit or miss. It's one of the reasons I gave up autos...not enough control over the size and training, and other than a slight advantage in speed they stopped being worth it to me.
I get it. Lots of folks here say the same.
I harvested a bunch recently.
Enough for me , family and friends for awhile.
These 3 auto’s are an experiment for me so no big deal however it goes.

If you want to give diatomaceous earth spray a shot for mites and white flies, it works well in veg. Never in flower though.

Taking clones of photos that won't produce much in their current state is an excellent idea!
Is that much different than the powder form? I put some in a sock and dusted the plants but didn't seem to do much either. Little bastards where making snow angels in the D.E. powder while sipping on their neem oil cocktails.
I'm sure these methods work for most...but I live 5 miles from the world's largest swamp and our bugs are REDICULOUS down here. I really wanted to get some lady bugs but they get everywhere...last time some got in the house and the cat about destroyed the place going after them...and Mrs Cough said no more bugs in her house (good or bad)

I missed the "stretch and dark" earlier. Since I started Emilya's watering schedule, I notice an overnight lurch reach 'stretch'.. the morning after saturation watering. Theres at least 3/4 to 1 inch of new growth on the LST I did yesterday, I have to go back and reset all the branches again. I already took 10 leaves off it this morning where they were blocking lower stuff on the interior.

It's DE mixed with water in a spray bottle, and just do the undersides of the leaves. It doesn't kill as fast as oil sprays, but it will kill.

Here is a post I did on DE spray.
^ :thanks:
Just an aside here, anyone have a method for saving their bookmarks in an orderly fashion?

Hi Shed, I put my plants back in tents today because another one was munched last night. It looks like grasshopper damage. The oily garlic spray is not helping with that. I am fighting a battle and a half against the bugs. I wanted to get your view on the use of DE in combination with BT. Do you think If I spray BT on the plant and do a soil drench followed by a dusting of DE that will give my young plants some cover, or is it overkill?

Amazing what happens when you give the plant enough water!

Bookmarks in the browser or the post bookmarks here on the site? I don't use those, just browser bookmarks - one set of bookmarks is enough for me. For those I put in keywords to make them easily searchable.

They target two different types of bugs so I don't think it's overkill. You would need to spray the tops with BT first (does it work on grasshoppers?), and once that dries spray the bottom with DE.

I would keep netting on them for as long as possible though.

Thank you, Shed. According to this article, BT does kill grasshoppers. I was thrilled to find this: Grass Hopper Control in Bosque County. I can't remember all the conversations we had previously re Spinosad, or whether I even tried to find it in my town. I must look for references. Oh I see now that Spinosad has a longer residual efficacy than BT but they are quite similar.

Bookmarks here in my profile. They are excellent but I never hit them in a search...might backtrack and sort them in my browser. Thanks.

Even the ones here on site you can tag with labels to make them easy to find. How did you want to sort them?

:lot-o-toke: umm better lol

I search, scroll & seek those bits of fleeting gold and never ever get a hit when I search for those clever tags and labels... It's me :laughtwo:
I could make topic folders in my browser and nerd it up :nerd-with-glasses:
It will work, thanks

I'm considering cloning the healthiest plants

I have a monster Blue Dream from Nirvana Seeds, 6 weeks veg, 4 weeks into flower, 77 days from seed, will have 20+ colas, crazy thick trunk and roots were pouring out the bottom of the 3 gallon pot. Look at her compared to the others! This pheno will be lost forever! Too late to clone?

maybe you could try to reveg her afterwards? I've heard it takes a while but could be worth a try?

Oh! Like snip off the buds and put her in a 18/6 tent? What an awesome idea, and why not can't go wrong with Blue Dream! hehe

I have a small tent, I should do it! Get her growing again for clones.

I found this:

If you do decide to re-veg a cannabis plant after harvest:

  1. During harvest, remove most of the plant including big branches, but make sure let the plant keep several leaves and a few "growth tips" where leaves are emerging. Your plant uses these to start forming new vegetative growth more quickly.
  2. Pinch off any buds on your remaining vegetative growth, so there's only leaves and stems. If you skip this step your plant will still reveg, but you're going to lose the buds anyway so why not harvest them? Plus it's possible the plant may reveg faster if you remove the buds first.
  3. It's normal for new growth to look strange, but the plant will start growing regular cannabis leaves after 1-3 weeks in the vegetative stage

I've heard it can take a while...sometimes months and the initial growth may look more like tiny basil leaves. Also don't starve her at the end of bloom as some like to "flush", etc.
If you're working with a small space what's to lose? Just stick her in the back corner and work around her.

You mean take off the larf underneath or pinch them/top them? I wouldn't top anything on that plant. With 48 tops already (some of which will come off either before or after flip), I can't see you having a bigger harvest by topping anything. There's a point of diminishing returns given the size of the plant and roots.

Yup...too early! Another 3-4" of height would be the time.

Are you in a hurry to transplant them? I can guarantee that the roots haven't come close to filling those pots, so any attempt to move them will cause the soil to fall away, risking damage to the roots.
A week later makes a lot of difference.
Up potted to final 5 gal pot this morning.

Hi Shed, I 'd like some advice please. I don't know how I made such a ridiculously stupid error in judgement, I planted one plant too close to the shed and I fear that I will have to keep pruning that side of the plant as it develops. I am trying to train one of the branches to quite an angle. Can you please look at this photo and comment. I cut the string too short to loosen it so will have to replace it in a few days. What do you think?IMG_20201030_144342.jpg
