Homer's Legal 4-Plant Max Perpetual Minimalist Garden In Ontario

Hmmm. Am I the only one who doesn't think it's a light burn issue? Looks more like a Ca def to me. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe the LED's being so close to the plant is causing a Ca def but it still doesn't look like light burn to me.

I agree that it is difficult to determine what the leaves are trying to say but in this case, I am pretty certain that the problem is light burn because the damage is only in places that were directly under the light and seems to have not gotten any worse since I moved the lights farther away. Appreciate the input though Sauga. :high-five:

Hmmmm... Now that I have thought about it for a few days and had a closer look at the damage I think you may be right @MrSauga that my leaf damage may be more than LED burn. I think it is the LED's but I am thinking I am overfeeding them which is making them more susceptible to the lights I have been giving them 7.8mg/gal because till now they haven't been showing any burned tips but maybe being so high I am locking something out making them less hardy so I am going to drop it to about six for a while and see if that helps.

It can't hurt if you're still seeing problems. Maybe show us some more pics when you find some time Homer.

Glad to oblige Mr Sauga. I know how you feel about blurple lights so here are some white light pics of the offending leaves. In the first picture on one of my highest branches you can see it is looking pretty healthy generally other than the circled area which is the part closest to the light which makes me think it is light burn. But if you do look at the tips in that photo they are all starting to burn so I think I over did the nutes which made my leaves more vulnerable to burning.

This second photo is a close-up of the burned section of my leaf in the first photo. I really went overboard because it seemed to be taking the nutes well but I guess 7.8 g per gallon was a tad excessive. This watering I dropped it down to 6.2. Overall the plant is still pretty healthy so I think she should be okay.

Here is my OG Kush one day short of two weeks looking pretty happy and healthy. I have her on 2 mg per gallon.

I still don't think it's a feed thing after looking at them. You'd see a lot more damaged leaves and honestly I don't see that much tip burn other that that funky leaf. Dropping the nutes is probably wise but maybe whatever you have done has corrected the problem.
Honestly it looks great other than the couple of bad tips.

I did raise the lights and that seems to have helped a lot. Maybe it didn't show up so well but I do have tip burn so I think that is part of the problem but we shall see. But yes other than a bit of burn she is still mostly healthy. :thumb:

Yes I agree, it looks a lot like older damage. New growth looks fine.

Yes, since raising the lights new growth does seem fine. :high-five:

Indicas can be kind of sensitive to intense lights where sativas gobble it up.
I found this out firsthand, the 8 ball kush is pure indica and I had to raise the light for her but the other girls was fine. I also had a blackberry kush pure indica that was sensitive to the light✌️

Thanks @Pennywise and Ghost. I didn't know this - thanks for the tip!

It has been a bit of a journey trying to figure out what the best distance is for my lights. My first seedlings fell over from having the light too far away so I started putting my lights a lot closer than what the manufacturer recommended or about 18 inches. I started to get some burn later with the plants so I started putting them around 20 inches but now my latest plants are burning at that.

So now I am taking the manufacturers recommendations and I am flowering at 24 inches and that seems a lot better. Because the seedlings seemed to like the lights around 18 inches I thought that’s what the adults would like and that idea kind of polluted my thinking for quite a while. My thinking was also more light intensity equals more bud but it means burnt leaves instead. Hopefully, at 24 inches everything will be good. I know I have done a lot of complaining about the spread of these lights so in fairness I must say at 24 inches the illumination does seem more even which is good.

There is the recommendations from my manufacturer.

Here are two pictures of my Dinafem and Critical plants; one is from when I first put the Dinafem under the budding light 11 days ago and one today and I am astounded at how much the Dinafem has stretched in those 11 days because it was a dwarf plant all through veg.

I suspected though that it might be a good producer because of the size of the trunk and it has just gotten bigger and in fact I think has the biggest diameter of any plan I have grown so far. I removed three levels of two by fours on the wide side so that is 3 ½ inches times three equals 10 ½ inches growth. I am definitely going to make seeds but I think I will always grow new varieties also because it’s just fun to see what they turn out to be. As Forrest Gump would say, growing weed is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.
