Thanks, oldsmokey. Yes, Old Salt uses this one so I knew it would be a decent unit. Wifi would be nice.

Thanks, Penny. It seemed to do the job but with an upgrade, the Trich-o-Scope 3000 Version 2.0 Base Unit is even steadier so I don't lose my framing when I adjust the magnification so I can look at the same spot with more or less magnification easier.

It works pretty good and the best part is I had everything I needed to make it laying around so it was free other than my time which is not in short supply. I think the following pic is about the magnification I will use most of the time and judging the following pic GG has a while to go yet but it's getting there with some amber now.

I would have been leery about buying it but Old Salt had it so I felt safe. He still isn't back; hope he is doing ok.

My GG suddenly slowed way down in its water uptake the last few days. I had been giving her 2 gallons every two days with no runoff but last watering she only took 1.5 gallons before I got runoff and now the pot is pretty damp on top and usually she would be dry on top of the soil by now. She looks healthy though so I will slow down the watering.

Since you mentioned some Sativas don't go amber I have been watching the clear and cloudy more so and I would agree still quite a bit of clear. I would think another week at least.

I do see just a few ambers but I won't take her down until you say she is ready because I want to do it right not right now.
 
I normally chop when I see a few amber on the Calyx. If you want a more up high take them with a few. For more relaxing chill kind of high wait for more amber.
 
I have my NL for my evening sedating medication so with GG being 60-70% Sativa I was hoping it would work better for my daytime micro doser so I would like a more up high with it. I do see a few amber but probably less than one in a hundred or less.
 
I will give her as many days as you say.

With the seeds I just received and the ones I ordered I have a nice mix of sativas and indica with some pretty good lineage so I am going to take my time going through the seeds cloning and comparing instead of just growing one plant per seed. Since I have spent the money on such good strains it seems a shame to just grow out one plant for each seed and not clone for a while.
 
I’ll be growing several of one strain then picking my favorite phenotype from each strain. I’ll dry each plant separately to compare each one.

That is the way to do it for sure. Will you make S1's or just keep a mother from your favs?

I have some supposedly killer strains of both sativa and indica so I would be a dummy not to make them last me a very long time with cloning and S1's. That was sort of my plan with I ordered some of your favs recently.

Cool. I understood it as more just finding the best of the crop not a unicorn. That makes it more interesting like the lottery.
