All is well. I'm busy:

1.)working
2.)growing
3.)harvesting
4.)putting a kit together

good stuff :goodjob:

good day DocBud,.. something you may or may not have considered is that pro-mix is a regional product, so the formulation you are working with may or may not be suitable for pro-mix made from a different 'peat mine'.. I'm curious to get my pro-mix tested [western Canada], do you know what it would cost from IAL, to get the same analysis that you got?

It's regional, but pretty much the same for all intents and purposes. Peat, dolomite, Limestone, Mycorhyzae. The best peat moss is from North Dakota and Canada.

Did you post the soil test you got somewhere? I'm curious because you say the K was borderline high, yet peat moss is considered to be neutral. Pro-mix hp w/mycorise comes with a light charge of nutrient with 75-150 ppm of K, according to a brochure I was reading today.

Yep. I've posted many soil tests on several journals.

Promix barely qualifies for high brix, due to potassium levels. That's what the lab said. It's acceptable, but I can't add any manures, compost, kelp, etc. If I was growing melons, instead of vegetables :cheesygrinsmiley: I'd add a bit of potassium, which I have done on the crop just starting to bloom. I added 1/4 cup K-mag per pot, top dressed. I'll test brix levels and see what the effect is, if any.

You've got to keep the ratio between K and P in the zone for high brix. Same with other nutrients. There are a few exceptions for certain plants, and of course I have to investigate whether our plants are "special" in that way by growing crops slightly differently.

Update:

Harvested first true high brix Lemon Paki yesterday. True high brix Colombian Gold came my way from the greenhouse. More to come tomorrow. I'll try to get some pics.

AS DP was saying about the over watering... i had not been on, too busy, but found out on my own. I had transplanted to 14in by 14in pots. i noticed the less i watered the better they looked. so i put about 2in of PRO MIX HP on top and all is well. thank you so much for all of your KNOWLEDGE. it is much appreciated by a noobie. THANKS DP for assuring me in my trial and errors

Harvest day pics for Jack Herer and Lemon Paki. Vacant spaces are already filled. Tomorrow I harvest Great White and Cherry Pie. My other tray is on day 21 of bloom, so I'll be featuring pics from that tray soon.

The up and coming tray, seen here has 1/4 cup K-mag top dressed. It's an experiment. We'll test brix and see how it works. I also have 3 defoliated girls going into bloom. I"ll be testing their brix against other identical plants that were not defoliated. I want to grow some Colombian indoors and I need to control the canopy in a big way. So, practice makes perfect.

The kit is going to weigh 6 to 7 pounds. I'm designing it to fit into a one size ships all box. Pretty cheap. I don't know about BC, however. We'll find out.

I'll be ordering containers this week. Out of town all next week. Then I'll commence to processing orders the week after that. Please be patient!

I just joined the site to tell you Thank You. I have read all your journals and watched your growing style progress. To say I am impressed is an understatement. I appreciate the time you take to journal and help fellow growers.

I am a working professional that grows meds on the side. You have greatly improved my grows. I am currently experimenting with Roots 707 soil amended with rock powders and it is kicking ass. I am also experimenting with OC+ and am amazed by the results as well.

My growing will probably end up at true high brix. All your photos look ridiculous and I know they look even better in person. Thanks again Doc.

I hear about those trust fund babies and have met a few in my day. i wish i ws one just to become yur apprentice. What your doing is beyond anyone's comprehendiosion. Truelly one of my heros and if you follow my posts ther are only a select few
