Hey 420 Friends - Densenug's First Grow Journal

Hey Friends, another fine day in the garden. I hope all of your buds are fat and stinky. Well it has been a good week, just jarred about 5 zips Bruce Banner, harvested a Pineapple Express- day 2 in dry box. Started flushing a Golden Goat for Harvest next week, 2 OG Kush will start flush probably next week, Golden Goat in closet just starting to plump and she looks real good. The problem child Pineapple Express has a couple weeks left, buds look good but leaves look bad, but she will finish. Have 2 Golden Goats and a Bruce Banner that will start 12-12 soon and they will all be scrogged. 3 seedlings doing good, all 3 just starting 3rd set of true leaves and put another Pineapple Express seed in paper towel this morning after soaking, PE has been a tuff one to get a healthy grow, but I will succed. Thanks for stopping in, KIG:volcano-smiley:Golden Goat flush started

Hello fellow growers, getting rained on today, thats ok, got me out of work today. So I can do a quick update, been busy at work and had 5 grandkids at the house last 4 days, so my ladies havent had the perfect care they deserve, but they are troopers, all doing well. Harvested a Golden goat about 7 days ago, she dried for 6 days and is now in jars for cure. Pulled 147 grams dried off of her and she was under a 300w led, about 140 wall watts , cant wait for a little cure time, already real good bud. Harvested an OG kush 3 days ago, still in dry box, guessing about 100-110 grams dried from her, another 2-3 days and well know. Got my scrogs set on 2 GG and 1 BB, they just started 12-12, but filling in nice. Have another GG thats about 2 weeks from harvest and her buds are really swelling, bigger than the one I just harvested and this one is about 2 times bigger so she be a good harvest. I lost the whole plant pic of that one, but have a few good bud shots, either my camera or computer ate that picture. Have 4 GG clones in the cloner, all showing roots and will probably go in there final pot this week. The seedlings are all doing good, Headband 5th set leaves, Afgoo and Silver Haze 4th set, will start topping in a few days. Pineapple Express seedling, 1st true set of leaves, she was germinated about a week after the other 3. Pictures are not the best, trying to get caught up, will post more pics later. Thanks for stopping in friends, KIG:volcano-smiley: Golden Goat Harvest

Thank you Emilya, I need to get some bovieda packs, 62%, and give them a try, dont you use them.:volcano-smiley::circle-of-love:

Yes I do, and I am quite happy with how well they work. There is a learning curve, but they are quick to figure out. I bought a 10 pack and keep them in their own mason jar until they are needed. You still have to work like you normally do to get the bud down below 70% RH, but once you can see that you have stabilized around 67-68 or so, you can just seal it up with a boveda pack and let it work. I don't even put hygrometers in all of my jars anymore, I have one big start of curing jar that I watch with the meter, and then simply do what I do with that one, to all the others.

Curing for me is mostly a hands on thing anyway... I am going for that crispy on the outside feel, and when I feel it, I jar it. Until I can unjar it 12 hours later and still feel the crispy, I keep working with it, taking it out of the jars to dry on a plate for a while, and I hand turn the pile regularly... again, until I feel the crispy. When the crispy doesn't "wet out" after being in the jar for 12 hours, it is ready for the Boveda pack. I have come to trust those little things better than I do my Caliber III meter, and now am confident that I could cure out my product without a meter, and after seeing the lack of calibration on my Caliber III, am amazed that I ever got a good cure before now.

So, my Bovida tip:
Always place the Boveda pack in, above the curing range, like at 66-69 stabilized RH. This allows the Boveda Pack to pick up moisture that it can later send back into the system as things begin to dry out. This initial 2 way exchange also seems to make the Boveda more efficient, and no doubt, last longer.

Thanks for the info. Emilya. I am going to give them a try, sounds like you have it figured out .:circle-of-love::volcano-smiley:
