Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk - Lemon Skunk LED Grow - 2011

Re: Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk/Lemon Skunk LED Grow-2011

Sticky420,
The LEDs are from LED Grow Lights For Indoor Plants, Grow Tents | Advanced LED Lights. The 180w is $539 but they are releasing a new series soon. Stevehman finished a grow with a few of their lights: Stevehman's Advanced LED 360 vs. 180 - Multiple Strains - NFT Grow 4.0
So far these lights are performing great.

they really look like they work pretty good but for that price they better :) guess i better start saving a little maybe get one next month or two.

Re: Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk/Lemon Skunk LED Grow-2011

I"ve seen nothing but great results with those advanced led's. Looking great, can't wait to see your harvest :)

Re: Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk/Lemon Skunk LED Grow-2011

OK so I havent been able to make it on and update for a few weeks. I apologize for that. Anyhow, the ladies are doing great. they have stretched to almost triple their size since the switch to 12/12 and i have had to bend some tops down and train them different directions. This may only be my 3rd grow, but let me say this: PINEAPPLE CHUNK-NOT for scrog LOL. I mean yea scrogging it did help keep my canopy level but this lady is out of control with her stretch. She is starting to smell very nice though and has some nice trichome action that I actually noticed developing around day 19-20 of flower. The Lemon skunk definitely got overrun by the vigorous Pineapple. Nevertheless the lemon skunk are developing some very nice buds as well. I really love the Floraduo line of nutrients. I have been feeding with FD A, B, and liquid KoolBloom. they are really easy to maintain. Just fill the res up pretty full and let them go. I always check the ph and it always starts off at 6 after the nutes have been added, and fluctuates between 5.5 and 6.5 with just topping up regularly. and ive never let the ppm go more than 450 and not one deficiency. Fine with me. but enough with my rambling. Here they go:

TODAY IS DAY 30, and the pictures from yesterday; day 29, are posted below.

Day 29

Ive got my Diamond Series 200w on the way!! to go to my next little project. cant wait to put the flo n gro into the 5x5 tent..............

and to answer your question Twelve12, no this is my first run with the LED but I am liking it so far.

The girls are still looking great Magic! just caught up on your grow, very curious on what the 200w will be for!

Re: Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk/Lemon Skunk LED Grow-2011

Thanks surfin.... Its not really a surprise i guess lol. What i plan on doing is the diamond series 200 vs. 600w hortilux hps on an electronic galaxy ballast. My hypothesis is that the 600w will produce more but i want to see how the the 200w led compares to 600w hps gram/watt. Those plants are straight lemon skunk vegging under t5s in my 5x5 tent. Expect that journal to begin in 3-4 weeks!

Re: Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk/Lemon Skunk LED Grow-2011

I'd be interested to see grams-per-sq foot as well. I think for some that maybe a more valuable metric. If you have a smaller space, then having a huge light may not produce many gr-per-watt, but may max out on the per foot metric. A lot of seed banks use the 500gr per sq meter rule in their adds (some strains are much higher or lower, but 500 seems to be the norm).

1 sq Meter = 10.76 sq ft, so if you average 46.46grams per square foot you are hitting the breeders mark on max yield. That is also just shy of a lb per square yard.

Well i believe in my space ill have enough room to max out the footprint of each light. But since you bring up the point, i think ill have to make g/m2 another factor in the battle. About the breeders claims: somebody correct me if im wrong, i cant remember where i read this; but i thought that the breeders base their indoor g/m2 guidelines on 1000w hps. So if a strain says 800g/m2 (pineapple chunk right steve) you should yield 800g in a square meter under a 1000w hps. Well too bad greenhouse doesnt even give out their specifics. They just write ads that make your mouth water (enter: Homer). Either way with 600w hps and 200w diamond LED, im not gonna worry bout harvests, just results and data for my fellow 420ers to soak up in a nice read :) thanks again, steve, for the g/m2 comparison idea. Anybody have any other suggestions, let me know. Will be updating here soon as well!

Re: Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk/Lemon Skunk LED Grow-2011

^^^^ CORRECTION: Greenhouse DOES list their g/m2 in their ads. I was thinking of Female Seeds, where i had gotten my first seeds: WWxBB, and ice kush: for all interested, ice kush was a very pleasant and potent smoke!

Greenhouse Lemon Skunk: 600g/m2-55g/ft2 under a 1000w hps.

Re: Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk/Lemon Skunk LED Grow-2011

P-chunk is supposed to be 650gr/m2, (according to one of the sites. The seedbank I use doesn't list them, but you can find a lot of data on seedfinder's site)

O 650? Well im not positive but i got them from WWMS and the description comes from the breeders on that site. They said 800 i think but 650 is a lot more realistic. I like how barneys writes these extravagant descriptions making you so tempted to buy them all and some more generic breeders, i guess, say 2 sentances along the lines of "some good stuff. Frosty."

Maybe that was an exaggeration but i think its kinda funny.

Re: Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk/Lemon Skunk LED Grow-2011

The P-chunk smells very nice though. Still don't have a smoke report, waiting a little while longer for it to cure, plus don't want to be glued to a couch during the week, maybe this Saturday.:yummy:

Patience is a virtue lead by wisdom. I cut down my p chunk from the original seed i grew with soil under the HPS about a month ago. Out of 2 lemon dkunk and one exodus cheese, the pineapple was the best smoke. Great taste, lovely high. But for taste only exodus cheese takes the gold. It smells like blueberry muffins! But you will enjoy your p chunks.

That I would really like to see, before i switched to LED's I was using a 600hps but never actually flowered with it myself i switched from HID to LED 4 weeks into my first grow!

I really do think the 200 diamond will give the 600 a run for sure, but in the end i think the 600 may win that fight. Now a 400 diamond series would be a perfect replacement for a 600hps, or a 360 extreme flower.

Everything is looking great!!!:bongrip:

Re: Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk/Lemon Skunk LED Grow-2011

I'm paranoid about using phone cameras, the meta data might have my info which LEO can track down. Unless running it through software that can erase them. You've mentioned this is your 3rd grow. Have you finished with the LED you got? If so, how did you like them?

FYI, not sure if someone responded to you. When you upload to 420mag their software removes all Geo data.

Oh, and great grow Magic. Looking forward to seeing your results.

I had humidity issues as well, had to get a 60-pint dehumidi

That right there is some great info for people not fortunate enough to live in a medical state. I hope many people who are considering starting a journal read that!

Thanks Bones. And wow a 60 pint thats gotta bring it down lol mine is a 32 although i havent had to use it. Say bones, wheres your journal at? Do you have one? I saw you Grand Daddy Nug and delicious it did look, but i dont think ive visited your journal

Re: Magic Beans Flo N Gro Pineapple Chunk/Lemon Skunk LED Grow-2011

It is great info, indeed. I had posted a paranoid article a few weeks back about geotagging, however 420 was quick to assure me that already got us covered. Good lookin' 420mag :goodjob:

Yeah, just finished a grow recently, check your PM.

Hi MB -

You're right - there are some things that look familiar there! (Same tent, same basic hydro set-up). ;) You are really cramming that thing full! Looks great in there. :yummy:

One question- are those 2x4's or something similar in there? Just wondering if you found a particularly good use for them and why you have them in there (I'm always looking for ways to improve my set-up) I'm always finding new ways to hang things in my tent, lol.

Thanks xlr8,

You know, i would highly suggest copying what i did with the boards. The reason theyre in there is for support. I got the idea when my inline fan (strong lil sucker) started sucking in all the walls of my tent. In the gl80l it pretty much shaved off a foot of width in the center. Adding the boards keeps the wall back. Just go to home depot and cut 7 1x2 boards into lengths of 6'6" and slide them diagonally inbetween the bars and the tent and then straighten them out. Needless to say this is pretyy tricky to dowhen u have a full house so hopefully do it before if you can. O yea you should have 2 on the back wall cutting it to thirds for better distribution and one on each side. The front door side is up to you. If you want more space but a little more hassle or less space less hassle. Hope this helps!!
