I can give epsom salt. What amount, is it the same as soil? I have not given any yet this grow. Or should I try the mega crop today and adjust mag a few days after? I read it has cal-mag in it. I haven't had much time to really look at the particulars of it. I just don't want to overshoot with the mag while introducing them to a new nutrient line.

I can get a cal-mag product a bit later if needed. Gotta pay the rent first.

It seems like she was droopy a few hours after watering. Then after lights out she looked ok. I am going to put her in a 2.5 gallon bucket soon. I think I was having drainage problems. Perhaps I put the hole up too high on a small bucket.

You could do epsom salt, it’s 1-2 tsp per gallon - don’t know the metric off the top of my head - maybe 5-10ml per 4 liters.

But, if you’re going to feed megacrop anyway, I would start them on it at the 2g/gallon rate. I think that’s what they recommend for seedlings.

I'll order some soon then. I'll have to limp by using milk and epsom until then. I guess I could do an epsom foliar at lights out as well. I don't really care for foliars. Perhaps I'm doing them wrong. I always get a nasty chalky residue. Maybe too much mag or calcium water spots like on my dishes.

Tead, I think short term she will be fine with the MC. She’s going from 0 to whatever is in the MC. Once her plants are larger, then I can see supplementing, but for the babies, I think it will be fine for at least a few weeks.

That would be true if he were going from 0 to MC. He's not tho.

I will be switching from Fox farms soil trio to mega crop

I've not checked, but I'm pretty certain FF has some Cal and Mag in it... just like MC. I've kicked these tires.
Thus I stand firm in my original thoughts on the idea.

I haven’t been using CalMag with the new MegaCrop 2.0 formula. It’s been about 3 weeks with no signs of deficiencies yet. I do expect I’ll have to add CalMag soon but still hopeful.

Hmmmm..... I wonder if the numbers changed. I think I'm running the original version.
What's your medium? For some odd reason I don't fully understand, it seems to make a difference. I find that folks running coco don't need as much calmag.

Pure perlite. The new formula supposedly has extra CalMag and PK boosters already built in. I haven’t used it for veg yet just three weeks of flowering, but I’ve never really had much CalMag issues until flowering.

I'll get a new bag flowing my way and see of I can cut down on my calmag use. Right now, 5ml/gal calmag is adding up to a pretty good burn rate. I ordered 2 gallons of the stuff last time.

Can I use Tums for calcium, in a pinch? I use it in my aquarium for my snails and plants.
I thought it might be less smelly. Might be a fun experiment in the future.

I think I may not have rinsed my perlite enough. The stream from the hole is full of particulates. I think this may be how I was overwatering, smothering the roots with perlite dust? It looks milky almost. I'll address that here soon as I want to up pot this week.

I did give them some epsom salt with their feed this morning. They are both praying and growing again.

I'm still waiting on my nutrients. The mail stopped here and they are playing catch up. Should be by tomorrow.

I haven’t had any blockages since I increased the size of my hole from 3/8” to 1/2”. Initially, some smaller particles (not dust, but larger than my sieve size of 1/8”) will exit the hole, but then the perlite seems to stack and stabilize.
