Hempy Headquarters

A semi organic hempy..... that is a very interesting concept. The ingredients remind me of the General Hydroponics GO line of nutrients. The price seems fair for the simplicity of the feeding schedule.

But it appears with the small 1qt containers I could afford I would only be getting 64 gallons of full strength nutrient solution. Whereas 1 get roughly 160 full strength gallons from a kilogram of maxibloom. Granted I still have to adjust ph (two caps full of white vinegar) and shake the jug, lol.

Maybe I am just a cheapskate. Either way I will be watching your progress @SweetSue

and no Cal/Mg.
My guess is you’ll be needing this when they start flowering. No matter what nutes I’ve tried (GH, Rx Green, MegaCrop, and Peters) in hempy they’ve all needed extra cal/mag. But then again back in the day I used organic nutes very successfully with a 50/50 perlite/vermiculite blend and didn’t ever have access to or need any cal/mag type products, it’ll be great to watch you!

I'll be experimenting with my Carnival. First sign of trouble and the bottle comes out.

Thanks Doob.... :passitleft:

Perfect thread at the perfect time. I'm going hempy as soon as i see roots on the clones

Then they are going into solo cups

I had some seedlings in solo cups this go around and they seemed to get root bound fairly quick. Like around day 14 for me. Keep an eye em.
Will do.
Want to get the best ones into 2l plastic hempy bottles as quick as possible.

High @SweetSue ! :high-five:

Could you provide a complete image of the analysis portion of the label? I’m having a hard time finding that information online.

Is it you that keeps track of various nutrient formulations in some sort of... thing (mind like a rusty cast iron steel trap  ). If so, how does that one compare, in your opinion?

I recently received a package from GeoPots, one of our sponsors, and they were kind enough to include small sample bags of their two-part GeoFlora dry organic/OMRI nutrient. I'm not currently in the position to post pictures, but you can check them out here:

My knowledge of this sort of nutrient, well... If you placed it inside a vacuum chamber, it'd still be mostly vacuum ;) . It's a new product line and I can't seem to find any grows using it yet. Do you have any thoughts, based on the available information / ingredients list?

Hey TS! :high-five:

Is me, the nerdy grower :p

Sue’s find looks good. The value would depend on how much you have to pay per tablespoon. It looks like it also has some bennies for the soil grower, like mycorrhizae and humic acid.

I would start at a bit lower than than their recommended dose of 1 tablespoon/gallon - maybe 2 teaspoons.

Here’s about what 1 tablespoon gets you for both the Veg fert and the Texas Tomato Food (might be off a bit - I can’t find the net weight for a density adjustment):

As far as the GeoFlora is concerned, it’s a dry fertilizer that one would add as a top dressing for a soil grow. Kinda outside of my area of interest, but it appears okay.

Growth in a hempy solo cup is pretty quick. I germinate my seeds in hempy solo cups. Three days after the plant sprouts I transplant to it's next larger pot.

My clones are going to have to go into the solo cups first so they can chill under the CFL for a week. No room to do that with them in 2L soda bottles. This is my first try at cloning and SOG perpetual. So anything that makes it is a win for me.

I used to use solo cups but now I’ve switched to 32oz paint buckets which are a lot shorter but wider than solo cups. I’ve found they work great and keep the plants happy for a good three to four weeks. After that I transplant to 1gal buckets for another couple weeks then on to 2gal buckets to flower. This round, I’ve left some in 1gal buckets to flower and regret it, shouldn’t have changed the plan, although it’s a bit reaffirming of that original plan.

:passitleft:

My options are limited with only a 2.5x2.5x5 tent for flowering. I have two 2x3 boxes set up as well. I'm hoping to harvest three plants every month in SOG. I'm sure I'll be swithing stuff up as I go and now I have other option because of you all.
And I'm really high right now.

WooHoo! Another intrigued member reaches for the brass ring! :yahoo:

Welcome to the ongoing celebration of one of the easiest ways to grow stunning cannabis Travis. :hugs: You’re gonna love it here. :battingeyelashes:

This looks interesting. Maybe you could keep us posted with how this works out? Did you get this stuff off a shelf locally?

There’re a number of threads on other forums running the same product Buck, and their success with this affordable product made it irresistible. I’ll certainly be documenting all the highs and lows of the grow.

Doob has a good point about those paint buckets, and I’ll have a closer look at his setup in a few weeks. I start in solo cups, and then I plan to upcan every couple weeks to get a stronger root mass.

I’ve grown them completely out in solo cups too, and pulled more than expected. With hempy the plants are always fed. :battingeyelashes:

I’m not really high yet. Let me correct that oversight. :bongrip:

Just so I get this correctly....
Seed has to be in a jiffy or the "yellow cube"
Then the cube goes in the pot with perlite?
Baby needs nutrients from start or 3rd node?
Feed every watering?
Watering/feeding every 3-4 days or once a week, medium sized pot. (like the size sue has now)
You replant to huge pots or you start in them?
Phenos and autos grow well like this?

I personally don’t use cubes or anything I plant my seeds right in wet perlite and wrap the top of the pot with plastic wrap to keep the moisture in until they sprout. I used the cubes before and they worked well too but less is more an all.
:passitleft:

Thank you I wanted to do that as well.
Medium sized perlite? Or rather fine round or chunky?

I use medium size, I think it says #4 on it. I buy it in huge bags and the bottom bits get a bit crushed in shipping so I try to use those smaller bit for starters and the bigger chunks when transplanting. I know @Tead was trying some really chunky stuff to make it easier to clean and reuse. I think as long as it’s not too powdery any size would be fine. If it’s too powdery it tends to clog the hempy holes a bit. I keep a chop stick nearby to poke them after watering.
