Oh no Bill, damn, don't ditch em yet.
I think there's a few options. But it's a Hell of a Battle ahead of you.
First, id get some benifical predatory mites. Using them will be the last step, but you'll want them as a long term approach. Don't start with them, they won't be able to kill everything off at once. And any treatment you do against the broad mites may kill the predatory mites.
You can kill them with heat.
Broad mites don’t like the heat above 90°F (32°C).
Diatomaceous earth will help.
Neem oil I believe works as well. They're in veg so you have options and time
I think
@Tokin Roll has dealt with them if I remember correctly...
But being in a greenhouse- sulfer burner
. After doing some reading, I'd go this route and you won't even need the predatory mites. It'll be a handy peice of equipment to have and can be used for a lot of things.
Good morning Rex.
I've battled this particular demon before.
In order to rid your garden of this, byou remove effected leaves and spray 5he rest.
If a plant has 6 leaves and you remove the effected 4 leaves and spray the other 2 what do you have left.
A sick plant with 2 leaves left.
I can ordered predatory mites and lady bugs or what ever else is available, but
In 24 hr they have damaged half the leaves.
In 3 or 4 days when they arrive there will be nothing left to save.
Tried neem oil, Dr Doom, Diatomaceous earth, sulfer and every other product available.
Literally everything I could find.
Ravenous beasts, lay the eggs inside the plant.
There is no way to kill the eggs.
The mites are microscopic, impossible to see.
And even harder to kill.
Ive tried spraying every other day for 3 weeks, spent hundreds of dollars on every thing imaginable.
In the end I ended up dumping 40 plants and starting over again.
Lost hundreds of dollars in sprays and 3 weeks worth of growing time.
Seeing as there is virtually no leaves left to save and no time left to waste I'll start over.
The seeds I had put away for you, I may borrow half of them.
It's mid June not optimal but doable.
There is no time left to battle bugs, summer is disappearing fast.
I'll start over.
Or just teken pack it in and take up knitting.
This is the
4th crop in a row I've completely lost.
First was the 50 plants I gave away when we decided to move.Gone.
Then the Fire wiped out all the girls I had left. 2nd Gone.
Then the Chronic Thunder team from my winter grow, 31c in window ledge. 3rd Gone.
Then my summer grow, mites. 4 th Gone?
4 in a row.
Thanks Rex.
Stay safe
Bill
