Heavens Shores - Bill's 2022 Grow: Come Meet Howie! Show Us Your Grow Too - Bring A Pic

I moved about 5 hrs north of my old house.
Not thinking it would be that much worse in the winter.
Never thought this summer would be so cold.
Wet and cold.
But my girls are dry and warm. :thumb:
Still need to build a growhouse as well for winter .
Time and money. ;)
That's all.
I'm too old to be hauling firewood. 🥶

And it pays to be careful on ageing. I managed to rip myself a small hernia (about half golf ball size) when I should have known better, but hey there you go. My father continued being very active outdoors and gave himself 3. So yeah, good to avoid. All the best Bill.

No, I was playing superman at 60 with my 10 year old on my shoulders and then after some maneuvers beyond my capability, 'pop'.
And yeah, those greenhouses like anything are not cheap. I have recently ordered a chicken coop n run, and man the bits soon add up.

I bought probably 12 cord last year.
They cut and split it and dump it on your yard.
I have to stack it myself, not a problem.
It was carrying inside that crippled me last winter, literally couldn't walk.
I'm rigging up things this winter so I don't have to carry it.
And I put in a heat pump.
But I'll probably use the radiant floor heat more, it's fantastic.
I was just worried about the price of gas, but I'd rather pay a little extra and be able to walk.
I just hope it's warm enough to finish flowering without freezing.
I'm looking at c02 generators for a little heat in September/ October.
Does anyone know if our sponsors sell them? ( co2 generators )

What do they have a firewood worker’s Union there? I worked with my Uncle in Ga. Cut and stack on the truck, take off the truck +split +then stack again all summer. Lots of competition there everybody unloads +stacks with no delivery fees.

I'm north of where hardwood actually grows.
So everything has to be trucked north.
There is not a lot of people set up for this so the price is high.
Too high $140 a cord delivered, oak, maple all hardwood.
If you want pine and poplar everyone and thier dog is trying to get rid of.
I'm going to run the floor and heat pump this winter.
Wood heat is fantastic if your young.

We charged 100.00 a cord for seasoned hardwood which was high but he delivered close to Atlanta so they didn’t care. 12 cords a yr. is a helluva lot of wood. Is that your primary way to heat? If so that’s not bad $1440 a yr.for heat. I prolly pay about $1800 a yr. with early cold and late spring.

Funny enough it's the back up.
We have a gas boiler with radiant floor heat, it's brilliant.
This spring I put in a mini split that does the entire 1400 Sq ft.
Cools the house in minutes, if it ever gets warm again.
But it has a heat pump too.
So three sources of heat, and a generator if the power goes out.
We moved in last fall and lost power for 4 days, lost all the food and we just filled the freezer.
There are 2 spare bedrooms upstairs with 12' ceilings I had earmarked for grow rooms.
I've got 5 bran new lights ready to go.
But after the fire I'm not keen to risk Stacey's life growing inside again.
And the nightmare we had with insurance, feken nightmare.
So I need to build a growroom not attached to the house.
I was going to use my 40' shipping container but I stupidly asked the township for permission.
They said no, they own the forest beside my house, so I thought I better ask before I put a few grand into the build.
Now I'm stuck paying covid prices for building materials.
I'll figure something out..

That’s kind of where I’m at. it’s legal to have 4 plants but there supposed to be not in public view. Was thinking about building a greenhouse in my yard but city is so money hungry ya have to have a permit for anything so as soon as I did a inspector would come out and I’d been fined for too many plants and they would confiscate the overage.

I dropped my license down to 25 this year.
I don't need 50 or 60 girls anymore.
I'll have to pull a permit if I am over 120 Sq ft I think.
So 12x10 will do for now.
It's enough to keep me growing which is all I need. :thumb:
My summer crop should keep me in medication for a while.

I ran coco, feed every day 55 girls, that kept me going all the time.
Only 7 of these are in coco and the rest are soil, so it's more manageable.
Still a handful but a manageable handful.
I run Bokashi Frass & @DYNOMYCO in my coco and soil.
It feeds the roots for me so it's simple to keep them healthy.
It's all in the layering and aeration in the pot.
I just have to maintain the environment.
Microbes & fungi take care of my roots.
There is the key my friend.
Grow roots not leaves. ;)

Yes Sir,that’s why I gave my ladies a airated molasses spray and then fed the soil. That and @sierra Natural Science’s Micro to really give the roots some nutes.
