Heavens Shores - Bill's 2022 Grow: Come Meet Howie! Show Us Your Grow Too - Bring A Pic

That's what I use to do as well, even when it was 18/6, and I have the 15 min interval one lol!

This was my exact thought, RD you just have this way with words, and the punctuation is always on point, there's no filler or needless ramblings; It's all informative and extremely descriptive, and cognizant!

You're already an amazing author, and I'd for sure buy any books you'd put out! Autobiography, anyone?
You only get quality writing like that here on Heavens Shores. :green_heart:
I've R. D. On retainer ;)

Anyway, uh guys, I need help (srry Bill). I need what my 6' filter does minus the smell removal. I need to protect my tent from critters crawling up the nice warm duct that terminates directly above my garden. I've got two draft blockers but that's not their job, so they do it poorly. They block draft just fine though. I don't want to waste the charcoal's finite ability to absorb contams by using it up during veg when smell's not an issue. I mean, it's never going to be much of an issue in the house but my neighbours have a right to fresh air - even if everyone, on either side and the two directly across the street, all grow weed. Apparently, I was the latecomer. How 'bout that! Seems suburbia ain't what it used to be.... thank fugging Elvis Presley on a pogo stick, else I'd've done myself in - marooned here as I am.

Anyway, I'm looking for the zero-cost DIY option here my friends. Your efforts in simply reading this are so appreciated so don't feel unloved if you don' have a skookum idea ready to drop. Good luck wit yer grows one and all, and hey Bill, here's yer thread back. I'm mostly finished wid'it, it could use a fill-up. Look, I promise I will get my crap together soon. (there's a weak sauce promise. creep!)

So putting some sort of filter on the intake is what we are looking at I assume?
Do you have any fine micron bags?
We need something with small holes but big enough for the volume.
Fine micron over some sort of frame full of holes and a shit ton of duct tape.
Anyone else have an idea?

The half hour ones can be tricky to set up. That's what I use.

What I did was to set the pegs to the times I wanted it to come on and off, then I stood there until the appointed time and then turned the dial to make the timer flip on. Got it to within a few seconds of my appointed time.

I suppose I can live with that discrepancy. :laughtwo:
Yes if I set the time correctly in the fire place that would work.
Thanks Amigo.

All I can think of is a section of windowscreen cut to fit the duct or cover the vent.
That's what I did.
I think it sucker the mites directly into the greenhouse in the spring.
Stops lots of moths though.

Hello Bill, all. Love and respect. I get thrips sometimes if I'm careless about doing my outside chores before tending my small indoor grow. Outdoors there are two greenhouses, the smaller contains clones of the bigger plus a reveg of PurpleGrapeApe

mebbe some pre-existing form, a household object, that I can
stuff ram old synthetic stuffing into. I really need all that flow. Recommended lung-room size is min. 100% the size of your growroom (5x5 tent in 10x5 room and that's what I have, no more, no less. Room is south facing, although with windows reflector-boarded up and sealed for co2 it does respectable work. Exhaust goes in a straightish line outdoors. Filter in the tent. Regardless, during a heatwave the fan, top of the line 6', really cranks without any obstruction.

Gotta come up with that random household object, then murder a pillow.

I use pantyhose over the vents! You can use two layers and it'll still let air flow in/out, just no critters!

Is that some Frisian Duckweed ya got there, outside? I should get one of those and represent; I wasn't born there but my parents were. I saw one there in 2011-12 this guy really wanted to show me, no kidding, it was as wide as a N. American 2-way street. Way wider than it was tall, trained obv., but still. Also... turning a kind of purple I always thought was fake in pictures because it's bright with a lot of blue in it, esp against the rest which was proper Mountain Dew green. Quite a contrast. Grape soda purple and Mountain Dew green, 20 ft. wide 8 ft high, leaves shaped like duck flippers. Freakshow! It actually was, he was entering some sort of competition. I think growing giant purple weed is Holland's version of 4H Club, esp. those Frisians - they are whack. My kind of whack, literally, but whack n.t.l. Dammit I will find those pics... anyway, thanks for sharing yer cool stuff.

As mad as it sounds I use womens tights triple layered up for my intake fan and its worked a treat lol.

And these hoses for panties are procured where - exactly? The mite-proof ones in particular interest me. I suppose I shall have to ask the shopkeep.
They'd be in the woman's clothing department, also called stockings or tights. lol

I bought black carbon filter material, usually for replacement on a/c filters. I cut it up and made intake filters out of it.
