Heavenly Hybrid’s Hideout: Jump In Anytime

Hi all! I brought some new updates with me today. I decided to break up the updates into big tent/ little tent, since the plants are going to be migrating.

Starting out easy, the big tent, housing Gelato OG.

Topsies

I see what looks like some beginning signs of bloom. The schedule has been switched for 6 days now.

Seems like her stretch is starting to take off. I should start taking some measurements instead of always speculating.

Next up, little tent. :)

Part 2 - little tent

It’s growing quite crowded in here. Critical Mass is nearly ready to go to the big tent. I’d like to give her another week so that she has 2 weeks in the new pot, but I’m not sure tent space will allow it. What is the least about of time I can give roots to grow before flipping?

Apparently I only took top side pics of the rest. Oops

It’s a bit strange to have plants at such different stages happening. It’s really only possible because I switched to the super soil. When I was mixing up the MC per gram, I would never have kept up with all these different stages. One more tick on the super soil side.

I took some new Candida cuttings and once I get one to sprout roots, I will probably put it into soil too. Then everything I have will only need water! :bravo: (he’s the only guy we have clapping, so…)

Okie dokie buds, I think that’s that for now. Hope you’re all doing great! Summer is finally on full blast in the PNW and I am fully enjoying Summer break. :surf:

OGK looks terrific and not a lick of wear and tear on it! I think you should let Critical Mass go another week before the move, and if you absolutely need more room you can always raise some plants to create height layers. Then you can raise one side of the light to make up the difference.

They're all looking really good so that soil thing is really working out for you! Are they in 100% Sohum?

LOL! So many budsites already and definitely stretching. :)

Wow Hh! The plants in both tents look fabulous! Look at all those bud sites  I think you might be on to something with that super soil, just doing plain watering every time sounds Heavenly!

^ What Shed said ^

Glad your finally getting a nice blast of summer! It finally decided it was summer in my neck of the woods as well!

:thanks: I was thinking the same, thank you for the confirmation. I’ll make it work for another week then.

They kind of already did that themselves! Lol. I kicked myself when I realized I didn’t get a front facing pic of the whole tent. I haven’t put the light on a slant yet, I’ll keep that in mind if I need to create more room as the week goes on. Thanks Shed. :)

So far so good. Bloom is the real test for me. They started in Happy Frog in their solo cups. When they went up to the 1.5 gal pots they were in Sohum from then on.

I realized that I was rushing the Cherry-18 when I moved her into the 1.5, I saw what looked like nute burn but couldn’t figure out why only that one showed any damage. DUH HH! She is 1 week younger and was quite a bit smaller at up-potting. As of now, that’s the only note I have on the Sohum and it was user error. I read beforehand that it’s too hot for the bebes.

Haha!! Thanks N. It certainly has been heavenly! :battingeyelashes: I think it will be good if I manage to hook up a drip system too.

Yeah! Summertime and the livin’s easy.

If I remember the instructions from their website, they recommend the top 1/3 be regular soil and the bottom 2/3 Sohum, which might have helped out your nute burn issue. That said, 100% Sohum might work out better in flower!
I think that would be a good way to use it for autos too. I’m sure there’s a few ways that would work. They also mentioned using the “cyclops” method with a starter soil, which made me laugh because it’s essentially the reverse sandcastle. :laughtwo: I forget where I read to use Happy Frog to start, maybe in one of the reviews?

And you smoke two joints in the morning and smoke to joints at night you smoke two joints in the afternoon it makes you feel alright!
Yeeeaah! My favorite song for the summer, maybe even of all time.

Yoikes, I just looked at the website to refresh the old marble bag, and it says a 3 gal pot will only make it to week 7 of bloom!

I do remeber a review that suggested adding another inch or so of fresh Sohum to the top layer during late bloom. Do you think that would work? Or BS (bro science)

Beautiful, happy and healthy plants, HH!
That soil sure is working well, should give you a little more "you" time this summer!

I have no idea! You could email the company and ask, or if you have any GeoFlora that should work.

If course you may get more than 7 weeks because you used more than 2/3 of their soil.
I don’t have any geoflora on hand, but I did take your suggestion and sent them an email. If/when I hear back, I’ll be sure to report.

Thanks Carcass, I love me time! :meditate:

Old Salt uses crusher dust. Not sure what that is though.
We use crusher dust on lawn repairs. I also add rock dust (same thing really on for gardens) and it adds mineralate to the soil. All those great micros for root development. PS the lawn goes nuts for it.
I also winterize all my seeds during storage. Theory is they will respond to the temp change from being dormant in the cold.

Hey all, I already heard back from Sohum (9 hours after I sent the email, FAST!) He recommended top dressing with an organic tea. Sounds easy enough, and since I’m only a week into bloom, I’ve got some time to figure that out. He also mentioned using a 6-7 gallon container for the next run.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an organic tea I can use? I’m in unknown territory here, so I’d appreciate any help. Looking over my Recharge product again, it seems like it’s not quite what I’m looking for.

Heya HH,
Weed tea's are great and easy to make. Essentially you just put seeds in a bucket with water and ferment for a week or so. Hot water at start to scald the weeds helps too. Kills random seeds and helps break down the fibres.

That link is a more in depth with sciencey stuffs.

Hi HH, Lactobacillus is great too... that's some of your microbes. This recipe is really for a large garden because a lot goes a long way. Also it goes off if it is stored in too warm or too sunny a place. You would know because at that point it smells rotten. So I would suggest making a suitable amount for your needs using a fraction of the ingredients.

I copied this recipe from The Weedy Gardener

How to make soil bacteria (Makes 50 litres)

1 litres of water and soak 250g starchy white rice

Strain off and cover with a cloth (jar)

Leave for 7 days in a cupboard

Add ¼ litre full cream organic dairy milk

Leave in cupboard for 7 days

Keep the whey and discard the curd

Pour into 50 litre drum

Add 1 litres molasses

Fill with water and cover

Feeding solution: 100 ml soil bacteria to 9 litres of water to feed around base of plants.
