Hey everyone! I’m just popping in really quickly because I wanted to show the results from my latest cloning session.
A little while back, I trimmed the Candida mom way down. I used VG’s perlite cloning method - which is: a cup with no drainage holes, filled with (rinsed) perlite; add water 1/3 of the way up; insert cuttings ~1/2 down into the perlite. THAT IS IT!!!
Here’s my bouquet of Candida cuttings
There are 6 cuttings in there, of various sizes.
I took these cuttings 17 days ago and the only thing I have done is add more water, once.
Today I finally took them out to check the roots.
Only one didn’t make roots and it was the smallest one (not pictured). But you can see 5/6 ain’t bad, and these would all survive if I put them into the dirt. I ended up only keeping one, and I really don’t even need it, since I have a mom going.
Maybe I’ll keep this as a new mom and put the bigger one outside??? Lol, who knows, but probably not. But maybe?
I hope you are all doing well and staying safe.
I give my utmost respect and a sincere thank you, today and every day, for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Happy Memorial Day.
