HashGirl Is Back & Is Growing Sativas The Hempy Way

Hi @HashGirl

Which GH product are you feeding ? And what amount are you using per batch size ?

Good morning, Chuck. I'm using the 3-part Flora Series of nutes, i.e. Gro, Micro and Bloom. I make up 10L at a time and use the VEG2 amounts which are 7.5 ml of Gro, 5 ml of Micro and 2.5 ml of Bloom.

When I feed them, each girl takes about 2L.

I'm using one gallon plastic milk containers to mix, just started with 4g/gallon of MC

BTW > when I did my hempy grow I fed the same amount of GH Maxi as the MC for the other girls in ProMix HP.

Hempy Grow journal in my signature...

Just a thought, the Miracle Grow Perlite sold here has a small amount of nutrients in it !

Could be interfering with your GH ?

My mistake. I'm using Holiday Perlite, which has nothing in it but perlite but apparently, the bag contains both coarse perlite as well as medium perlite.
How about you do a flush with 2 or even 3 times the volume of the pot with water.

With the last unit add back your GH nutrients.. Get that Miracle Grow stuff out of there :yahoo:

If there's nothing but perlite in the pots, should I still flush them?

If you feel it is a possibility that the plant is indeed overwatered, after the third unit, tilt your container over to drain about half of the reservoir.

Or as much as you comfortably can and the next day run another gallon (?) through, again drain as much as you want !

Set your fan(s) so the plants leaves are slightly rustling ;) Such a nice word

More air flow, more transpiration and more food....

IIRC my 30 day old hempy girl was getting a 1/2 gallon of feed in a total container of 4 gallons of perlite.

Lastly, what is your lights watt draw from the wall, power setting and distance to plant top ?

30,000 lux/450 par should be good....

Cheers, eh ?

I have no idea what your lights watt draw from the wall means or is. I'm using an FC3000 Full Spectrum 300W LED from @Mars Hydro.

The lights are 18" above the leaves. Here is the data from each tent:

This is the feed chart I see for Flora 3 part, Not what you are feeding and IMO too much !

Could be your problem right there...

It wouldn't hurt ! At least you would be back to a baseline.

In my hempy I would water to run off on purpose as a mini flush !

I wanted the measurements in metric since that's how I measure. I'm currently growing them at the VEG2 levels.

BLUE DREAM (BIANCA)
October 31 to November 20, 2024

Good afternoon.

Sorry it's been a while since my last update but November is quite cloudy and my vision is worse when that's the case. Additionally, when I couldn't use the computer earlier this year, I started other non-electronic activities that keep me pretty busy.

Bianca is being fed approximately every 3 days. She's currently being fed the VEG2 on the General Hydroponics feedchart.

She's grown a little bit, was uppotted on October 29 and then topped on November 6. Without further ado, here is her info and recent photos:

CANDYLAND UPDATE
November 4 to 22, 2024

Good afternoon.

Today's update is on Camilla. Camilla and Carla were both flipped to 12/12 lighting on November 16 as I decided they were healthy enough to flip. New growth is green with no new issues that I can see.

I'm hoping to flip the rest of the girls no later than December 1 since I want them harvested before the last week of February when I go South for a week or two.

Camilla and Carla are both showing pistils today. Once I call them in flower, I'll change their feed to the Flower1 feed.

Here is Camilla's current info and photos:

Looking good, HashGirl👍

Nice flat canopy & lots of budsites- great job on the training!

Thanks, guys. I learned LST from the expert. I'm 👀 at you, @Carcass

Hi Nev. Nice to see you pop by. How's life these days? Been to any good concerts lately?

CLEMENTINE (CARLA) UPDATE
November 4 to 23, 2024

Good afternoon.

Today's update is on Carla. Like Camilla, she's currently being fed at the VEG2 level, was flipped to 12/12 lighting on November 16 and she had pistils yesterday. Here is her current info and photos:

Ahoy there @HashGirl ,
I am not a know it all. Just getting out of my garden and trying to help others. @StoneOtter says I should get out. This is my opinion
The droop is presented by your youngun as a message. When I was bubbling (hydro), I found the addition of 5 ml / gal of silica aided the root zone transitions. The hempy cannot be over watered and flushing with the same mix will yield similar results.
The loss of turgid posture is not without cause, yet this can often be corrected. I would add the silica and give her a couple days. We have grown out plants that never achieved turgid posture and had satisfactory results.
Sending your garden my love.

Sorry for the late replies. With all the dark days recently, my computer eyes haven't been great.

I've also been busy and have attended one concert, 2 Christmas dinners, one musical (The Lion King), one Van Gogh experience and was also sick for 3 days since the last time I posted here.

I also bought tickets to the Junos (the Canadian version of the Grammys) in March 2025 in Vancouver so have been working on arranging some travel arrangements.

Looking good. Stick to that schedule and you shouldn't have too many problems. Great work!

Thanks, Braddah.

This is Hempytastic HashGirl! Glad I fell on your post! I love all your choices! Have read everything and see the issues. I'm not a hydro grower but there's one thing I think I know  that I don't remember reading. Do you PH your feed to hydro spec's?

Welcome to my journal, Stone.

I do pH to hydro specs. PH is usually 5.8 or 5.9.

Thank you so much, Maritime. I actually have silica and didn't even think to try it. Should I add it to the feedwater before or after the General Hydroponic nutes?

are you bubbling your water? Well water is low in oxygen by nature. Even in dwc you can get signs of overwatering though the roots live in the water on purpose. The cause is said to be low oxygen. Which is part of what happens in overwatered soil. I’m just guessing obviously because I never used the hempy way. If you don’t use a bubbler in the water that may be the whole issue because it’s well water.

Pineapple Express - Peggy
November 5 to December 23, 2024 Update

It's been a long time since I posted an update on any of my girls but here's one for you today.

I had hoped to turn the leaf issue around in the Pineapple Expresses before flipping to 12/12 lighting but I just couldn't get them to look better so they were flipped to 12/12 lighting on November 29 and flowering started around December 10.

Peggy is currently being fed at the Flower1 level of the General Hydroponics nutes. Without further ado, here are the pictures I have of Peggy.
