HashGirl Is Back & Is Growing Sativas The Hempy Way

Cool. Any particular reason you switched? Are you feeding them MegaCrop or something else?
I was tired of buying new, and disposing of the soil afterwards. The fertigation looked like it would be quicker and easier too. I have to say, it really is.
I am using Mega Crop, and as per usual I'm not bothering with ph or ppm. It's the batch we went in on with 12coffee.

Heya HG!! I'm in on this. I've always wanted to try hempy. I'm just a wuss!! So I'll live vicariously through you!! Happy Sunday!! 😎✌️

Hey Scottay. I'm happy you're here.
:passitleft:

Pulling up a seat, love me some Blue Dream :)

:welcome: to my grow, Tim.

That's interesting that you're not testing for pH. My water comes out of the tap at 6.9 so since hydro plants can only use the nutes available between 5.5 and 6.5 pH, I have to pH mine.

I have none of the MC left that you, 12 and I bought together. I'm using the General Hydroponics Flora Series.

Lastly, we have Sasha, a Super Silver Haze (SSH). I grew SSH in 2023 and liked the high I got from it, but I also only got 29 grams from it so that’s why I’m growing it again.

Sasha was born on September 20 and topped on October 12th. She was uppotted to a 2L plastic pot on October 20, 2024.

Here is her info and pictures:

Super Silver Haze is the result from a cross between legendary Haze, Northern Lights, and Super Skunk #1 strains. With a THC content of around 18% to 23% and its CBD content is minimal at 0.1%, allowing the strain’s THC prowess to shine through, it offers a moderate yet enjoyable experience. Super Silver Haze feminized strain’s exceptional effects, sativa-dominant nature, and longer flowering time contribute to its unique appeal. Its energizing and invigorating qualities and the convenience of feminized seeds make it a sought-after choice for cannabis enthusiasts seeking an uplifting and creative experience.

What is Super Silver Haze?
A renowned cannabis variety known as Super Silver Haze has earned a spot in cannabis history. Its genetic heritage originates from carefully blending the legendary Haze, Northern Lights, and Super Skunk #1 strains. A balanced hybrid with 80% sativa and 20% indica genetics is the product of this combo. As a Sativa-Dominant strain, it delivers a cerebral and uplifting experience. It is cherished for its ability to invigorate the mind and inspire creativity. With a THC level ranging from 18% to 23%, this strain offers a potent journey for those seeking an invigorating and cerebral high. Despite its comparatively low CBD level of 0.1%, it is well-known for its medicinal properties. The strain’s terpene profile contributes to its captivating aroma and nuanced effects. Linalool, Caryophyllene, Myrcene, Pinene, and Limonene converge to create a sensory symphony of floral, spicy, earthy, piney, and citrus notes.

Strain’s Effect
Super Silver Haze is known for its uplifting and energizing effects that enhance your mood and boost creativity. This strain delivers a powerful euphoria that uplifts the spirit and fosters profound happiness. The uplifting qualities of this strain are matched by its energetic nature, providing a surge of motivation that can drive creativity and productivity. It promotes focused attention, making it an ideal companion for tasks that require mental clarity and concentration. The synergy between its uplifting and focused effects creates an experience that enhances cognitive function while keeping the mind alert and engaged. It can also provide energy, making it a great choice for daytime use or a productivity boost.

Strain’s Flavour, Aroma & Appearance
The flavours of Super Silver Haze offer a complex and enjoyable taste experience, while its appearance highlights the beauty and quality of its buds. It has a diverse flavour profile that combines citrus, earthy, herbal, sweet, and skunky flavours.

The plant’s long branches help its long, thin leaves grow, giving it a graceful, elongated shape. Patches of orange pistils create a striking contrast to the rich green of the buds, enhancing their vivid appearance. A layer of icy trichomes covering the buds completes the image, giving them a glistening appearance evocative of a winter morning.

Growing Information
Feminized Super Silver Haze is a great reward for your efforts and is thought to grow moderately. Super Silver Haze feminized strain is a cannabis variety specifically bred to produce only female plants. This ensures a higher likelihood of yielding buds, as female plants are the ones that produce flowers. Creating the ideal growing environment and using appropriate strategies to ensure optimal production is crucial.

This strain thrives in warm, humid, and sunny climates, thriving under controlled environments. Super Silver Haze responds well to attentive care, whether grown outdoors or indoors. Outdoor growers can expect yields ranging from 450 to 550 grams per plant, while indoor cultivation yields a similar range of 450 to 550 grams per square meter.

Employing the Sea of Green (SOG) technique maximizes yields and efficiency, making the most of your space. With a medium height of 5 to 8 feet, this strain adapts well to various growing spaces while remaining manageable. It has impressive resistance to pests, mould, and mildew, making it a fantastic option for farmers concerned about these problems. Keeping your grow area clean and well-ventilated is a good way to avoid potential issues.

This variety is usually ready in mid-October for outdoor cultivation. Indoor growers should anticipate a similar harvest period, but it’s crucial to remember that different plants may mature at different times. Remember that this strain will be much more successful if you take the right precautions, pay attention to the environment, and follow the suggested methods. Super Silver Haze is a strain that inexperienced and seasoned growers should consider because of its resilience to mould and pests, colourful harvests, and moderate difficulty level.

BLUE DREAM (BIANCA) UPDATE

Good afternoon.

Today, I'm going to update you on Portia. Since the last update, she's grown 1.5 inches taller and 4.5 inches wider. She's now being fed the General Hydroponics VEG1 nutes, an increase from the Seedling nutes. She was uppotted to a 2-gallon pot yesterday. Here are her current photos:

Thanks for following along. Questions and comments are always welcome.

Or maybe Bianca...:)
Whoever she is, she's looking good, HashGirl!

Oops! Thanks, Carcass. Portia was on my mind because I trimmed all the fan leaves off her that day.

Hi(gh) HashGirl!

I am Happy to see you back Journaling again! I used to ❤️ growing Hempy in Perlite. I eventually switched to Turface to give the roots some weight after Floating my plants, and spending too much time balancing and anchoring the plants to stay upright.

Are the Budz in the background also Hempy grown? They look 😍 awesome!

Thank you for the kind words, MS. The buds in the background were indeed also grown the hempy way. I finished trimming and jarring all of them on Thursday. I'm happy to report that I grew 6 plants and yielded approximately 95 grams per plant. The CB Dutch Treat gave me the biggest yield at 138 grams for one plant.

However, my favourite girl was Mary, my Moby Dick. She had the sweetest smelling buds I've ever grown. She and the Jack Herer aka Joy had buds up and down their branches. Here are a couple of good photos (Joy is first and then Mary):

CLEMENTINE UPDATE - OCTOBER 16 TO NOVEMBER 3, 2024

Today, I'll update you on Carla. Carla like Camilla is also growing in leaps and bounds. She's not looking good in the beginning because I forgot to add cal-mag to her feed but she's looking better now. She was moved to her final home on October 19. Here is her current info and pictures:

Camilla - Day 26:

Her leaves are a little pale so I'll add Cal-Mag next time I feed her. I forgot the first time.

420 Update - September 13 to October 13, 2024.jpg
I used GH 3 part when I ran my hempy also. You shouldn't need to add Cal-Mag. What you are seeing here is not a Cal-Mag issue, but an Overwatering issue. Your rez hole is too high on the cups, and not allowing enough O2 to the Roots. Your Flower buckets seem to be spot on, and they recover pretty quickly once you transplant. But I believe you will see stronger and quicker growth if you add a lower rez hole on the cups

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS (PEGGY) UPDATE
OCTOBER 17 TO NOVEMBER 4, 2024

Good morning. Today's update is on Peggy. Like the others, she is growing in leaps and bounds. She has a little bit of a leaf issue so if anyone knows what it is and what to do about it, I'm all ears. Here is her info and pics:

Thanks for the input, MS. @bluter and @FelipeBlu were my hempy teachers when I first tried hempy in 2020. They're the ones that told me to always add Cal-Mag when growing in hempy. They're also the ones that told me to put the hole 2 inches from the bottom and that's where I put them.

Besides that, I don't want to lower the hole as that would mean I'd have to feed them more often and every 2 to 3 days is often enough with my schedule. Would feeding them less at a time help with the oxygen?

It just occurred to me that maybe you're talking about the Solo cups and not the 2L pots? If that's the case, I could definitely lower the hole on them. They don't require a lot of liquid when they're just starting out.

The standard 2" is really geared for 5 Gallon buckets, but your Flower pots seems to be Happy. I am talking about the Solo cups. I see a trend of Overwatering once the roots are sitting in the res. When the roots don't get enough O2, the plant has a hard time eating N, the leaves get Bloated, droopy, the appearance of random brown spots and on leaf edges, etc...

There is Great info on the internet with pictures, just Google "Overwatering Cannabis".

GH is an All inclusive Hydroponics feed. Perlite does not react with the food like Soil and Coco. What you give, it gets. Stick with the GH feeding schedule, and watch ph, and you should NEVER experience deficiencies.

I understand your questioning My advice and experience, so perhaps do 1 my way, before you give away your Cal-Mag! ❤️

Hey HG 👋
I absolutely love me some pineapple express!!
I kinda forgot about this strain sadly until I just finished catching up on your journal.
I'm sure she'll bounce back and be a star 🌟

FYI > I've used Gh Maxi series and Mega Crop one part, both have enough Cal/Mag in them to not need more !

I even have one girl in coco and she is not asking for more Cal/Mag ;)

But, this is with my well water, no Cal/Mag, no ph down !

Cheers, eh ?

Welcome to my new journal, Chuck. I'm using the GH Flora Series. I have well water as well and mine comes out around 7.0 ph so I definitely have to add ph down. Do you agree with MS that I should stop adding cal-mag to see if the leaf issues go away?

Welcome to my journal, Tassie. I love Pineapple Express, too. It has a great racy high.
