HashGirl Implements A Perpetual Grow

Next up, we have Pam aka Purple Satellite. I think she's a girl but if others could have a look to see if she looks like a girl to them as well, that would be useful. She has, amazingly, grown 10.5 inches in 10 days. I did some LST on her yesterday and I raised the light today to accommodate her height.

Fran aka Fruit Punch is next up. She's not doing much. Just sitting there doing her thang.

Fran - Day 41F:

And, finally, we have Jane and Jen, our 2 Jack Herers. They have been drinking a lot lately. I have to feed them every 3 days. I don't remember Jack Herer feedings being so regimented in my previous growings of them. And, as you can see, they grew significantly this week as well.

And, that's everything. Thanks for following along. Comments, questions and suggestions are always welcome.

It looks to be a girl if they're all pistils in the pics. :thumb:

She hasn't grown at all in the past 10 days so that's a little worrisome.
That’s to bad I was curious of the Raspberry Cough but honestly she wasn’t looking real good in your last update. I’m going with the Super Silver Haze for the win now!

I think she's a girl
I think so too so Pam is the perfect name. She’s looking like she may also be a tall one!

Haha just like an auto.

And, finally, we have Jane and Jen, our 2 Jack Herers.
I think these two just may be my favorite plants you’ve grown so far!

Great! Thanks, Stunger. I was worried because the day after I uppotted her to a 5-gallon pot when I still didn't know her sex, you posted something about how the taller regular plants were often male so I'm relieved she's not.

Pam is definitely a girl in flower! The ones you know are flowering females look great and a lot of the younger ones are so leggy I was wondering about light distance and intensity.

Or are they just bound to be incredibly long sativas?

I said in that post:

I did some LST on her yesterday and I raised the light today to accommodate her height.

Did you think I need to do something else?

She's actually grown 1.5" since the update so maybe she was working on it under the surface where we can't see.

I think these two just may be my favorite plants you’ve grown so far!

Thanks, Nev. I do think they look pretty good. I'm going to try to keep them looking good until the end since I'm not very good at that yet.
The Jack Herers are a sight to behold, Jane and Jen :green_heart:

Thanks, Carm.

I'm with Carmen! That's a beauty! I'm glad you got your female! Regs are time consuming!

Thanks, Stone. I still have 13 more regular Purple Satellite seeds plus 2 regular Devil's Carnival seeds but I have no interest in growing any of them. Regulars are way too stressful, in my opinion.

HG I am so with you. Unless you have a lot of time and space on your hands and intend to invest that in breeding, it just seems a slog. Having said that though, I still have dreams of dabbling a bit before I pop my clogs. I did an outdoor grow like that and it was very disappointing culling plants. Aside from that, it was a grow in Shangri-La :meditate:I gotta get back out into the sun! 🌞

Okay, peeps. I have White Powdery Mildew (WPM) again even though I cleaned the tent out with bleach.

GWE says that the following can cause WPM:

  • High Humidity (This is not the issue. Humidity is 33%.)
  • Low/No Air Flow
  • Poor Ventilation
  • Leaf on Leaf Contact
For the last one, I will be removing any fan leaves that don't see the light. I've already sprayed them with a citric acid dilution. For the second and third, I'm going to buy some clip-on fans, which I have never used before. What I want to know is should I buy a 6" or an 8" clip-on fan? All of our tents are 5x5.

Sorry about the PM. Not sure where it came from given that all the outside plants are probably frozen unless you have another houseplant somewhere with it.

Yeah, it's weird. As I said, I washed the tent out with Clorox when my summer grow was done and then I moved the Jack Herers in there from the veg tent.

You can't go wrong with the 8". Is it oscillating?

It's not oscillating but the floor fan oscillates. The vendor has a 16" clip-on oscillating fan. Do you think that would be a better investment?

*** Update Time ***
On January 18, I put 4 new seeds into water and lucky me, they all germinated with the last one up being the first posted below. Folks, meet CHRISSY:
CHEESE (1 seed)

Primary Terpenes:Myrcene, Pinene, Caryophyllene
Genotype:Photoperiod
Phenotype:Indica-Dominant Hybrid (60% Indica, 40% Sativa
Breeder:Dinafem
Genetics:Old School Skunk #1 x Afghani #1
Projected Flowering Time:50 to 60 days
Projected Yield:525g/m2
THC %:18
CBD %:<1

Cheese is a feminised cannabis seed that was an overnight success in the UK when she was first launched and, little by little, she's gained the confidence of people worldwide thanks to her unique traits but, more specifically, thanks to her cheesy taste and aroma. Nowadays, she's a real cannabis strain known by all as well as one of the bestsellers of all Dutch coffee shops, loved by cannabis tourists.

At Dinafem Seeds, our breeders decided to cross two genetics with breathtaking pedigrees: an Old Skunk #1 with very special flavours and aromas, and an Afghani #1. And we couldn't be happier with the resulting Indica hybrid: a top-notch strain with many of the original traits that triumphs everywhere and that everyone identifies as an old-school classic.

2nd prize – Grow category - at the 2017 Copa CABA organised by the Argentinian Haze magazine.

Morphology
Cheese turns into thick and branchy marijuana plants with thin and elongated leaves. Always looking radiant, this cannabis goddess produces numerous large, elongated, and sticky buds with a very peculiar dark-green colour.

Yield
Cheese is a heavy yielder, producing 525 g/m2 indoors and up to 1000 g/plant outdoors. During harvest time, the smell is virtually unbearable; it fills the room so intensely that it becomes almost anaesthetic. And the number of buds and the amount of resin is also overwhelming.

Aromas and Flavours
Cheese is one of those marijuana strains with very special tastes and aromas: pronounced and long-lasting flavours and scents of cured cheese right from the very first puff. Truly wonderful. Wherever she goes, she leaves a trace of Skunk, old cheese and incense that seduces all people around her.

Effects
Cheese produces a very pleasant effect, both potent but balanced, that starts with a nice cerebral stimulation and ends up with a physically relaxing sensation. With rather respectable THC levels between 9% and 14%, she makes a great choice for those who want to unwind for a while. You won’t be able to forget her!

Cultivation
Cheese grows very fast (50-60 days) and very strong, so cultivating her is very easy, even for inexperienced cannabis growers. Despite responding well to all growing methods, she's proved to thrive in SCROG. Outdoors, she loves being grown in temperate/Mediterranean climates or in greenhouses, and, by early/mid-October, she’ll be ready for harvest. It’s very important to remember that anti-odour filters are likely to be necessary if we want to neutralize her strong aroma and prevent nosy neighbours from becoming suspicious.

What I have so far - Day 0:

She sprouted on January 23 - :happy-birthday::

and by today, she was so gangly, I decided to uppot/upcup her - Day 4:

To be continued tomorrow...

Hey HG. Congrats on the birth of your Cheese! I love love love Cheese. It's big here. They grow it out in the mountains but that is not the same quality as craft grow. I have an auto Cheese to pop in May. It tastes fabulous and it puts me down! Looking forward to your new grow!

Thanks, everyone. Here's the next update.

The second strain that germinated is:

MELON GUM (1 seed)

Primary Terpenes:Terpinolene, Myrcene, Humulene, Caryophyllene
Genotype:Photoperiod
Phenotype:Indica-Dominant Hybrid (70% Indica, 30% Sativa)
Breeder:Dr. Underground
Genetics:Lavender x Bubblegum
Projected Flowering Time:50 to 62 days
Projected Yield:525g/m2
THC %:18
CBD %:<1

About Melon Gum
With a taste this sweet, you might think that Melon Gum will be a schoolyard high: playful and easy on the lungs. Don’t be fooled, as this is an intense high that will leave you feeling airy and giggly while your feet are swept from under you and couch lock takes the place of motivation.

Doctor Underground took to the lab to create this delicious bud by crossing Lavender and Bubble Gum giving us the best qualities of both parents. THC levels of this strain can be considered normal anywhere between 15% and 23% with a lean towards the higher end of that range. With a flavour palette filled with strawberry bubble gum, melon, and hints of tart lemon, it’s no wonder this bud is such a trickster. The nugs are minty green with long clementine-coloured hairs and a full frost of white sticky trichomes giving the gum name a double meaning.

Typical Effects
Upon the first puff, you’ll feel Melon Gum’s effects. Suddenly energized, users will find themselves extremely talkative and giggly, albeit hazy and stoned. With this feeling, there is a surprising amount of clarity that is described as short-lived and easily replaced by deep couch lock and laziness. Hopefully you’ve grabbed your snacks and picked your movie beforehand, because you aren’t moving once this feeling sets in. Because of this, Melon Gum is best smoked in the evening or before bed.

Medicinal Uses
Medicinal users love this strain for fast relief from insomnia and late-night stress or anxiety. The hard-hitting sleepiness will keep you resting peacefully throughout the night. Other benefits of this strain’s sedative-like properties are that it is helpful for chronic pain, muscle spasms, and mild to moderate headaches. Enjoy this flavorful bud at any experience level but be aware that it is a sleeper agent and may be too powerful for new users in some cases.

Growing Melon Gum
Growing this plant is a dream as it is relatively easy and produces a heavy yield. The flowering time for indoor growers is around 8 weeks and outdoor cultivators can expect a bloom in late September or early October. Once those sticky dollops of resin arrive, you’re good to go. Indoor growers adore this plant for its utterly sweet aroma and have not reported needing a smell proof system in most homes.
