Growing A Legend: An Auto Tribute To Jack Herer

Does it grow wild where you are? There are loads of good medicinal plants here in Canada (other than the obvious one). I live right next door to the woods and a few years ago I used to go get fungus from birch trees to make a tea which is excellent for many ailments, back pain included. I should get into doing that again.

willowtree bark is naturally high in acetylsalicylic acid which most of us know as plain and simple Aspirin. tea made from that helps against many (mild) paincomplaints like headache and musclepain and aspirin is a natural bloodthinner in low doses and it helps in lowering bloodpressure

edit: corrected the tree species

So how long do these auto flowers typically flower for? I am trying to get a rough estimate for how much longer my tent is going to be tied up. Not sure if I will be harvesting my Panama x Malawi around the same time or a few weeks before the AJH.

I really suck at all this planning stuff. I want to take clones off the PxM, but I just amended that soil mix I put together so I'd have nothing to plant them in for 4-6 weeks. Of course I could probably buy a bagged soil between then, but the longer I gotta wait to take clones, the further into flower they're going to be and the longer it will take them to reveg. Plus on top of that, I'd have to stick them in my bathroom as the only place with continuous light, and use my one air stone and air pump ( so no more ACTs ) to run the bubble cloner since I fucking hate rockwool.

SO yeah did I ever mention growing weed is hard when you're poor? Haha

I think I'm probably just better off letting these ones go, and then hoping ACE still has some in stock sometime down the road to try more. I don't really even like the phenotype of the Platinum GSC x Cherry OG that much... Well more like I have more seeds and bet there's a better one waiting.

So anyway I'm pretty conflicted. What ever happened to that bagseed grow idea? I've got a couple bag seeds I can try. I'm also really tempted with the idea of a Golden Tiger 12/12 from seed grow. But everything is so up in the air right now I have no idea what the plan will be.

Ok so Van suggested I check out this thread cause I was asking around about the JH auto from CKS that I might like to try. I got 30+ pages into the thread and no-one has even dropped a seed yet so... screw that! I’m just going to pop up here and ask the question ...
Baby jack is starting to show her stuff finaly
Hey CS! Are you one of the Canadians growing the CKS genetics? How long has she been ‘up’? How’re you finding it?

And others, are the CKS plants performing ok?
Even recorded observations of it being applied to the sight of broken bones and fractures and that alone mended broken bones and fractures..
...’common’ name for comfrey is knitbone ;)
It’s a great source for natural fertiliser too - a literal green manure (I say literal because if you make a ferment out of it, it truly smells like, well, shit!).

Yup, willow bark is another good one.

Welcome Amy!

i think only @flytier is left north of the Border on this grow, but I may be mistaken.

Cheers.

Thanks to the help of 420 staff. I can now post larger pictures. Thought I would show a pic of the Critical that was mentioned as a maybe for the next challenge
Who was the breeder of that Critical? I just popped a Dinafem Critical..first time.

Plant it separate from everything else or it will take over the garden.

Oh wow, everyone's been busy while I've been sleeping.
morning guys and hiya @Amy Gardner. Some really good info this morning....
@flytier, we only get silver birch here, would that work....
@Pterostychus, thankyou kindly for sharing that as we have willows following the river course that flows through our town.
@Amy Gardner, lol I've heard it called knit bone but couldn't remember.

There are many species of comfrey. The one I have is the most common type ( S. Officinalis) unlike its cousins it doesn't spread vociferously or take over the garden and doesn't emit chemicals which repel other plants. As Amy said its a source of nitrogen and it's meds.
Good companion plant.

Enjoy your day...:thanks:

Damn straight! We have some contained in the area around a lemon tree - they like one another. Radogast told me a story about how he moved his patch one year but wasn’t careful enough and left a tiny amount of root behind... now he has two comfrey patches.

Good morning @Amy Gardner Amy, nice to see your smiling face around.
I can't speak from Growing Experience as mine died during the germination stage but, you have to remember that this is kind of an experimental grow to see what methods work and what doesn't. Starting my own in a questionable manner, led to my seeds early demise..... Not genetics.

99%, @Jackalope had the Dinafem as well as he sent me some of his seeds and they too were Dinafems genetics .

Thanks jesse

OK - so how did they go then... the CKS ones that got grown out? Did none of them make it?:hmmmm:
Mine was one of the Seedsman beans. And I killed it with my first attempt at Hempy. Transplant from soil to perlite was a wreck.
Hope you have a successful grow with yours. I will definitely be running another group of JHa soon. Still one of my favorite grows (my previous JHa that survived to harvest).

No. I don't even know where to start with it. I'm really becoming interested in it now. All the talk between you and Guy has got me thinking. I have family in Oregon so I can get some stuff shipped without to much hassle. I just need some suggestions of what to get. I want to try some of the 1 to 1 weed and e-oil for smoking. I also am interested in the capsules and topicals but I am lost when it comes to what to try. To much stuff out there and no knowledge. Easy way to waste a lot of money.
We made the recipe from Magnus' thread and it works fabulous. Ms Stank rubs it on my back and within 2 minutes, 95% of my pain is gone. There is no high from it so its relief you can use if you need to stay 'sober' and its even good if you need to pass piss tests. If you can't find the recipe on Magnus' link, let me know and either Ms Stank or I can send to you. She is more of the topical expert.

Welcome Amy. Yeah I forgot to warn you that we took a little while to get rolling with the actual growing.

The Canadian growers are Guy and Flytier. They are growing the CKS version.

The Americans are me, Jesse, Fertilizer, Dabber, Illizm (though no one has heard from him in a month @illizm775 we miss ya buddy), IntheShed, Blew Hiller, and Chris. I believe all the American's are growing Greenhouse's version
