Grow #2: Outdoor/CFL Auto 420 Blueberry & AK-47 Smart Pots With Dr Earth Soil

Thanks guy! What’s the name of that strain again? I need a lil sumfin fer my eyes!

Something with a lot of TH-SEE!

Quickie update for Friday. 77° here but it took me a while to get the plants out of the shed bc I had some workers in the backyard.

Anyway, when I got home last night the broken AK branches seemed to be ok but I added some tape to act as scaffolding back to the main stem. This morning it looks like this:

AK 7 on day 68:

...which is to say no worse for wear. Let's hope it stays that way. I have no idea how long the damage would take to show but I would think it would be less than 24 hours.

And here is Blue 4 on day 70. Sorry Blue, I know you usually get top billing but this time you're relegated:

The both got fed a gallon each today. Runoff for Blue was 18 ounces, runoff for AK 7 was 22 ounces. Nutes were:

3ml cal/mag+
½ tsp Open Sesame
2 tsp Tiger Bloom
¼ tsp Grow Big
4 tbs Big Bloom

Tested pH runoff for science: it was 6.0 in and out, as it should be...this doesn't reflect the soil pH!
Nute PPM in was around 900 in and out so all is good on the nute front.

I hope you all have a great day!

Looks good man. But everything looks good when you're laying back having a puff.

Quick pics bc we're off to the auto show!

Blue 4 day 72:

And AK 7 day 70 no worse for electrical tape:

Spinosad had no effect on the bugs so I'm searching for what's next. Neem on the undersides or DE spray on the undersides? I hope to avoid spraying the flowers with either and the bugs only live on the bottom of the leaves anyway. Post your thoughts below, I'm off to get in and out of a few hundred cars!

Have a a great Sunday :).

Morning shed. Glad to hear the plants survived the light crash ok. I've had a top heavy desk lamp fall on a seedling, & it made it. They look great to me bro! Masterfully done. :thumb:

Monday is the day and here is the table family:

From left to right, that's Blue 4 (day 73), AK-47 clone (day 56...do you count the age of a clone from the day you cut it?), and AK 7 (day 71).

Here are some flower pics. Unless they go really long I don't expect a lot of weight off these.

Hope you all have a great start to the week!
Plants are looking good. Got a busy day but not strenuous. Goes fast.

I accidentally posted before finishing! Really like how low you were able to keep them. A lot!! Freakin bugs man. That sucks. I’d be done right now if I tried outside, I wouldn’t be able to keep on top of them. I’d hate to use anything on them in flower. What kinda bugs do you think it is? Member gaboy (Georgia boy) who grows , clones, makes seeds, everything outside or in his greenhouse. He’s all natural. If you know what kind of bugs your dealin with bro, I can pm him & see what he might suggest. We can READ all we want, but nothing beats quick advice with proven results when it’s time sensitive matter. Lmk bro. :high-five:

Oh, my first grow, my best early miss plant. I was doing like you, pulling 10-11 plants out of greenhouse & dispersing throughout the dappled sunlit yard, forgot exactly the “how I did it,” but I wishboned the plant straight down the middle of the main stalk, right between the middle of where I topped the plant. At day 60 something too. I duct taped asap, and it seemed fine. Then again, I had to harvest at day 72 as landlord came in town unexpectedly. Glad yours are pulling through. Blue 4 has so many dang bud sites it looks like. Have you used mammoth yet?

Lots of bud sites but slow to stack and we're already in the 70s days-wise. Slow start, early bugs, and few hours of sunlight made for much smaller plants than the summer auto grow. Moon, you killed it in the tent. Much mo' bettah than chasing dappled sunlight around the yard! And better than the 6 hours of sun mine are getting now. Guy, the sun makes for great pics and the plants love it, but alas, it shines on them for but a fleeting moment and then it slips behind the rooftop of the neighbors to the south, not to be seen again until 7:45 the following morning.

I won't grow autos next winter now that I know how little sun they're going to get. I never paid attention to if before because it never mattered obviously :). Once this and the clone grows finish I'll have a full year of growing and a better idea of when to grow what! I still have one seed each of the AK and Blueberry autos.

No pics because it was fooding day!

They got a gallon each, and into that gallon fell:

3ml cal/mag+
½ tsp Open Sesame
2¼ tsp Tiger Bloom
4 tbs Big Bloom
½ tsp Great White

Nutes in totaled around 830 PPM. Didn't measure any runoff...no time this morning bc late night last night!

I don't have any Mammoth P, but there's lots I don't have. I've been keeping it simple nute-wise as you can see from my list.

A good Tuesday to all, and a Happy Chanukah tonight to those who celebrate it!

Hey shed! Is day 70 from seedm

Blue is day 74 and AK is day 72 from sprout.

autos need lots of light to truly shine ... its their main advantage imo they will easely gulp up 18h of lights and transform that in buds ... 1/3 of the light means 1/3 of the possible yield ... but sungrown is unsurpassed by any possible artificially obtained quality and taste ... period

Quite true. The T5s and the CFLs are not making up for all the sun they're missing compared to the ones I grew starting in May! The only plus side is I'm not killing the electric bill. 64 watts for the T5s and 8x23=184 watts for the CFLs. Total of 248 watts but only half that on each plant. Hmm...that's higher wattage than I thought it would be. Is there a cheap LED setup that would be more efficient for a 2x4 foot space?

Depends on how cheapo. The one I got originally is 75 bucks. And runs at 125 watts from the wall

leds are the furure they run more and more efficient and the spectra also get more and more specific ... add to that the secondary and primary lenses and the are fucking bright for what they use ... HID lamps waste half of the electricity they use as heat ... but yea the sun is the one bulb all plants evolved under ;) nothing can beat that ...

But when the sun isn't shining, would a cheap LED be better than the T5s and CLFs in that 2x4 space - that's the question!

Imo. Yes. Without a doubt. Cfl is about 1/2 gram per watt yield and led used with your aweaome training is 1 gram per watt or more!
