Group Grow - Autos Only - Seeds Must Be In Soil By The 25/07/2017 Latest

Has anyone ever used water from the humidifier to water the plants? Or even rain water...woukd rain water be better then ph tap water?

Yes you really need to read my journal from day one that all I use is rain water .. more organic the better in my mind oh down is harsh shot

careful when collecting it, some cops dont like it

Lolwhat? Not much actual crime up there, I take it?

and it is illegal to collect in plain view. Our government eh..

I just did a bunch of web-searching and couldn't find any official reference to rainwater harvesting being illegal up there in Alaska. I'd think it'd be encouraged up there, with the unique set of conditions in AK and all. I did see something about groundwater harvesting being regulated, like maybe that is treated like they do mineral rights in my state (but I'm not sure, because I didn't follow up on it).

I even hit the search box on "Official Website of the North Slope Borough" (and tried calling the number listed for Brett Goodwin, Division Manager, Water / Sewer - but there was no answer). Couldn't find anything.

At this point, I got a wild hair and called my local water department (having learned long ago that the mayor's office is useless) and asked the supervisor if he knew anything about it being illegal to collect rainwater locally. He asked, "Uhh... Do what?" When I repeated myself, he laughed. Then he asked, "Why in the <BLEEP> would it be illegal to do that? You're not supposed to run your downspouts directly into your house's sewer drain, but if you use it first It's just like any other water you use." Then he asked me if I was on the city's water/sewer system. When I said yes, he mentioned that I'd have to pay a minimum amount each month even if I got 100% of my water "out of the sky." And then he said NOT to drink it "straight out of the bucket," lol, and said with all the chemical plants around here he wouldn't even advise brushing my teeth with it because it wouldn't surprise him if it could eat the enamel off teeth. Which is a (slight ;) ) exaggeration. He was still chuckling when he hung up.

Looks like some states might consider harvesting 10,000 gallons per day excessive, lol, and regulate that. Some states place a much lower maximum amount cap, such as "a maximum of two barrels with a combined storage capacity of 100 gallons or less"). And more than a few locales (state, county, and/or city/town) may have regulations about how to go about it, or to prohibit it during certain times (use covered collection containers during mad mosquito season, etc.). And many areas seem to differentiate rain water used for drinking (possibly bathing) from general water use such as watering plants, flushing toilets, and sometimes laundry.

It appears as though Colorado might have prohibited it at one time, but apparently, that state's government must have remembered that revolutions have been started over less because if looks like they formally legalized the practice in 2016 (I could be mistaken). I'd definitely check with your state/local government if you plan on setting up a huge, obvious collection setup (or plan on talking 15 of your neighbors to run pipes from their roof gutters to your property, IDK). And... Yes, you probably should check with your state and local governments before setting up a rainwater collection system even if you're going to be stealthy. Then again, you could do the same thing before setting up a cannabis grow :rolleyes3 . Me, I figure they don't need the extra work, lol.

I did find this website, which may or may not still be current. It has something about every state:

Thanks for correcting me lol. I got that info from my buddy that lives in cali. I guess in their county its illegal to collect, so i figured it must be illegal here too.

Hmmm... AK rainwater?

LoL.... Ban the Fed!

I'm on a well, with a deep aquifer. I haven't tested it's pH, but our rainwater is slightly acidic. Also, avoid storing your collected water in plastic.

Again, feel free to check with YOUR specific location's applicable government agencies. Because "But some crazy hillbilly on a cannabis forum said I could" isn't likely to get any court cases dismissed. LMFAO.

If the scientists ran the world, I'd be okay with water in general being heavily regulated. Because we are looking at a crisis in the not so distant future where water is concerned. I'm guessing that, by 2050 at the latest, there will either be TWO water lines entering people's houses - one that you can drink from and one that you can actually afford to use - or else there'll still be one but that utility bill will be the most expensive one that a person has, by a considerable margin.

But politicians, OtOH... If a politician makes a decision that is in any way in line with reality, well... I figure it was purely coincidental.

Update all autos have popped

Congratulations, Kingjoe83! I'm still waiting on mine to break ground. When I went to drop the CCA seed into the cup of water, I realized that I actually had TWO of them (one was behind the little paper label). I'm actually thinking about letting the other one go for a swim if this one doesn't grow. You all have me fired up still, lol.

I'm also wondering if I can save one of my big vegging phototropic plants. Anyone ever severely supercropped a plant that's nearing a year old?

Anyone have an idea as to why my grow cab would suddenly get much hotter than usual?

Got home and my flowering cab was on 93F.. usually it's 72 during Lights on.

Same Lights, same schedule, fans are all working..
Possible power outage during the day while you were away?

.. I only have 2 plants so I don't think I'd need more than a couple gallons a week ..

Thanks for looking it up. I would only probably fill about 2 gallons at a time from the downspout. I live in the country so it's almost secluded.

Nah, just checked my laptop.. was still on (doesn't have a battery, power outage would have turned it off)

With the cab door open the temp has dropped down to 75.. but as soon as I close it for a minute or two it goes up to 82/83

Damn. Obstruction in exhaust? That sucks, hope you get it whooped. I just fought with heat for 2 months. Thankfully it's controlled now.

I'm looking at your journal now. Do you have one related to the candy cane? Or just the Hydro 900

The candy cane auto I grew is in kings true grow tent 900 mars hydro thread

And then I have an kings outdoor promix -coco battle

And I'm in doing videos on a group grow I'm in on? Trying to learn lots on there. Neat seeing different growing options and eviroment factors and challenges others are going though? Fun times to be had for sure ..
