Green Mountain Girl's 1st Grow

Thank you Motafina! This is my first ever grow so I am not at all experienced in this harvest thing. The genetics from the seed provider ( CKS) says a 8 week flower time so I figured this was just as big and as rich as they would get. So I will keep them going till I see the saturation of amber. Thanks for given them a look over!

Deciding when to harvest is one of the hardest decisions IMO. I'm still trying to figure it out. My wife likes a more energetic high, so I try to harvest before 'saturation' of amber. But some of that is also strain-specific. I've been trying to harvest when the trichomes on the calyxes (as opposed to those on the leaves) are pretty much all cloudy and 10-20% are turning amber. But if you want a more sedative, relaxing high, let it go more to amber, maybe as much as 40-50%.

It is a challenge for sure. It seems this plant is a sit on your hands kind of grow. Just when I think I need to act , I really just need to wait a day or more and give it the space it needs to react. I took the two I’m thinking could harvest next week and looked them over some more, and in fact they did get a bit larger like you said. I am not seeing the saturation that I should be of the amber. I will let them enjoy their summer in the tent a while longer, I don’t blame them for wanting to take their time. It’s nice in the tent of perpetual summer conditions.

Just took a look in at the veg tent and it’s very quiet in there. No sprouts yet from the cups but amazingly enough some of these terrible cuttings I took for my clones are still hanging on. Other than pure luck I don’t know how they are still alive!

Anyone want to guess which will sprout first? ( white widow, Durban poison, northern lights auto, or Jamaican seeds mon)

Okay... don’t want to spam you all buuuut come on it’s Friday! What’s better than weed on a Friday?!?!

Checked in on my girls to make sure they are good for the next 24 hours because we have company in town for the weekend. But what do I see???? Sprouts! Can anyone guess who were the first to show their skinny little necks?

What are the down falls of switching my autos to a 12/12 at this point into flower?

My crown royals are just so huge and taking over the 5x5. There’s 3 of them and they have been in veg for 9 weeks cruising along and getting big and beautiful but now they are almost taking up as much room as the 5 autos.

I want to start their flowering but I don’t know what switching the light this late can do to my autos.

Should I just let them continue to veg for the next few weeks while the autos finish?

Amazing! I’m going to flip them all to the 12/12 then! Thanks for always looking out Emilya!

Going to give these autos another run since I had two more seeds left and this next time around see I can increase the yield by starting with your watering guide and uppotting advice from the start. Also going to try my hand at some LST!

Have a great weekend Emilya!

I know you can do it! You too! It is Winter Field Day in the Ham Radio world, and the club and I are going to be doing some contesting!

Happy Monday to all and your gardens! I hope this weeks gardening will be fruitfull for you all!

I had a bunch errands to run this morning, very typical for a stay-at-home-parent on a Monday. Finally everyone is out of the house to their respective work/schools and I can get to work on my weekly chores in and out of the garden.

After gulping down a somewhat like warm cup of coffee, I popped my head into the tents to evaluate what the nights sleep may have it have not brought to the day. All seems very quiet with them and I’m not going to complain about that.

The seedlings are doing as seedlings do with all having germinated and spouted so far but one of the northern light autos ( giving it at least another week to pop up) and the random Jamaican seeds I had. ( I’ll leave them be but I may boot them to put down some more white widow or Cali OG kush seeds I have both from CKS)

Fighting the low RH with the humidifiers going almost none stop and it’s not getting over 60% in the veg tent and not t getting over 40% in the flower.

I don’t know that these clones I took from the crown royals are going to make it this time around but I’m determined to leave them be and continue to try and see if they can prevail. They are definitely not dead. So onward we go.

Arranged the seedlings so they get a front row show to the lights.

Have a great day gardeners!

Nice grow you got there. I also recently cloned and I got lucky on my first try but it's challenging for sure. Many factors to keep an eye on. I found that if growing from seed mixed with clones a good gap is to pop the seeds 2-3 weeks ahead of taking clones. My clones were taken about 3 weeks or a little shy of that before I popped my new seeds and the vegging plants look very similar in size now which makes things easier. Have you considered trying a scrog? I found it helped me keep a fairly even canopy.
Happy growing.

Green lizard,
Thanks you! I have thought about the scrog method but was too timid to try it during my first grow but I have purchased a trellis and I am planning on giving it a go this second time around.

Yeah I am pretty sure these clones are done for but these plants continue to surprise me with there ferocity. So I’m not counting them out just yet. I appreciate the advice to stagger them. I didn’t think about them being so off in their phases.

Well from the photos you posted last Friday of your clones I would say they are far from being done for. They don't look bad at all. Just keep them humid and don't give up on them. Good luck.

Hello gardeners! I am in need of some of your keen eyes....

To chop or not to chop.... that is my question today.

Here’s some pics I tried to get with my loup. They aren’t great but a better close up of the tricomes. They look pretty cloudy to me but I do see some clear and not a ton of amber but little patches have started to come up here and there on the sugar leaves.

The leaves are still pretty green but I haven’t started to flush her yet. You think I should go ahead and start flushing next watering??

Here the pictures
