Green Jeans Greenhouse Outdoor Adventure

Not sure - automotive electronics baffles me!!! PLUS, I've never had a working alternator on this tractor for over 30 years, I just keep charging the battery up - I don't let it get too low. This is only the second battery in over 30 years so....I'll just go to WallyWorld and replace it - probably do me for the rest of this tractor (or my) lifetime!! I've often wondered what it would be like to have a piece of equipment were everything worked like it should at the same time!! Maybe someday....

Well, I said I wouldn't ...but I did.... I raised the roof of the outdoor shelter about a foot...there are no more adjustments that I can think of...I'm not doing it again!!!! Well, unless they start pushing on it again...then I think it is time to get mirrors and have them start to grow downward!!! I'm desperate man, I'm desperate!!!:thedoubletake:

I know you guys like photos, so here ya go.... First is my levitated cover over the outdoor gals, 2nd and third had better look like everything is in good shape because it's happening all over the place, everywhere...

Looking good, Mr. Greenjeans. Those ladies will appreciate the extra room. You're going to have a metric f**k-ton of weed, my friend.

Thanx Fish - I'm getting a bit anxious - I'm now looking around my shop trying to figure out the best place to hang this crop - I sure hope it matures at a staggered rate - I have absolutely no idea what kind of yield I will have - but just doing conservative estimates....Holy Crap !!!! I'm looking into curing without trimming, freezing, green squeezing, any and all methods..... I could be way off base but still planning....I also thought growing would be easy peezy...but Holy Crap !!!:thedoubletake:

Just think of the man hours it will take to fell all of those trees. And dear Lord, the trimming... I think if you can time it right, you might be able to get away with chopping 1 or 2 a day and get the buds hung for drying. Then you can trim 1 or 2 a day when they are dry. But the bad news is that you'll be doing harvest related tasks for 3 + weeks until you can get it all into storage. Wait a second, these are all good things. This means you're going to have a metric f**k-ton of weed, bra. Cry me a river Mr. Greenjeans.

Your girls are looking amazing!!
I’m feeling the same way about harvest time....trying to figure out where to dry if they all make it that far. I’ve been stockpiling jars all summer hoping for the best lol
Looking forward to following along as they finish.

Hey Kanda - I guess once we have gone thru it....then we will know for sure!!! Maybe??? And YES - I've been hoarding jars all summer - not even good ones - just ANYTHING!!!!
Hey Fish - When you say "one or two a day" do you mean plants???
What scares me more is that I also should be starting my Firewood cutting as soon as it cools down a bit - I'm a bit behind the 8 ball this year as I got nothing done last fall because of surgery - so this year, double duty!!! My kids (and wife) want me to slow down and install Propane but I moved out here over 30 years ago so that I could live in the middle of a forest and use it for fuel - it is hard to get my head around not cutting wood.....
Besides, I like the look on my wife's face when I exclaim "I have enough wood for the whole winter!!" then how quickly it falls when she sees the chainsaw and realizes her mistake!!!!!! Bwaaaahaaaahaaa, I crack myself up!!!

Yeah, plants. My thought is that it will take you more time to trim, than anything. And then I started thinking that it would be a near impossible task to get it all completed at once (unless you have plenty of help). But trimming one or two plants a day, may leave enough time for other tasks (like chopping wood). In my inexperienced opinion, you don't really have a choice but to stagger the harvest (unless of course, you have plenty of help). Keep in mind that my next harvest will be my first, however.

A guy I work with, has his license for 146 plants at a time. This past weekend he had 70 plants hanging ready for trimming and cure. He said it takes him 45 mins per plant, and he got 40 done over the weekend. Damn I could not imagine having to cut down 70 plants at a time. Just ridiculous!!

Yes it’s definitely going to take you some time to harvest all your ladies, but you’ve got lots of time before their finished. You raised the roof and shouldn’t have much else to do except get your fire wood cut (listen to me, think I know your to do list) haha hopefully you find the time for everything green jeans! :yummy:

As I look over all the gals - I am surprised by the different stages they are at - 1 is about 5' and left totally natural as she was planted in the forest and pretty much left to fend for herself until I dug her up and relocated to the shed and then Beulah who has been in the greenhouse for the whole time, topped at about 6' but now has branches that reach the top of the 10' tall greenhouse. Angie and Caryl, that at one time looked a bit sickly, are now totally covered in flower or buds, whatever they are called - some of the stalks have a solid 10" of hairy white stigmas all over.
I am thinking I had better get one of the rooms in my shop tidied up and possibly see about installing an air conditioner and dehumidifier to get ready for harvest. I don't want to be running around at the last minute.
Everyday is a new adventure!!!

If you start having height issues again, search for super cropping on the site. There are some pretty good how to’s here.
Guaranteed, that is what I am going to do next time - as well as way fewer plants, bigger greenhouse, etc, etc....
This first grow has been an eyeopener and I ain't even close to done!!!

Will it be as ghetto? I really enjoy the think out of the box approach you have.
Ya know, I don't know how that happens!!!!! Oh my poor long suffering wife!! But as long as I keep it away from the house....so far so good.
So, yeah, I'm pretty sure it will be "Hillbilly Shabby Chic" - It's my style, Man!!

Eye opener for sure....lol...understatement of the year for me

Darn, darn, darn!!!! I saw something weird on the smallest Forest dweller that I have brought up to the shed - I took a couple of pictures but then out of an abundance of caution picked the offending stems off and discarded - then found that the pics were completely out of focus - darn!!!
Anyway, it looked to me is if it might have been and indication of hermie or nanas or something of that nature. Is it possible to have this happen in just one or two spots on a plant??? Would the stress of moving or possibly a flash of light or whatever cause this?? Should I move the plant farther away?? Am I too late??

Wish I had an answer for you, GJ.

I think the solution to creating more headroom for your plants is pretty obvious -- start digging!! Instead of raising the roof you need to lower the pots. Do you have an excavator?

I cut 8 cords of firewood by myself a couple of months ago -- my wife was raised in a very hot climate and her thermostat has never adjusted to our climate in the North Cascades. We have 5 woodstoves, though rarely more than 2 are burning at one time unless I'm working in my shop. In fact, I plan to keep the stove going in the shop when it comes time to harvest.

Anyway... after cutting so much wood I am now scheduled for an MRI and a possible shoulder replacement.

We did install propane many years ago but found it far too expensive to keep the cabin as warm as my wife requires. So... firewood it is!

Really wish you got pictures. Oh well, if it is nanners, yes it’s possible for that to happen. Keep an eye out for more, if you see more post a picture and we’ll go from there.

Stress of moving shouldn’t have caused that, if anything light probably would be more common then a move.

Keep us updated :nervous-guy:
