Green Jeans Greenhouse Outdoor Adventure

I didn't take a pic, but I've trussed the two branches up near the stalk and then tied the branches down further out where they are more bendy - the roof is 6' above soil level and they want to push on thru. If they don't slow down soon I'm just gonna lay them on their side.

You can stop lateral growth by topping, it promotes growth in all other areas of the plant. I’d hate for you to have to raise the roof again!

The tractor won’t start and the plants won’t quit. Ok I think I’m following you now. Your tractor won’t start and your plants won’t stop growing

Doggonnit you guys!!!!! I'm vayweee serious here!!!! It's my tractor that won't start and my gals that won't quit!!!!! Yer confusing me!!!!:eye-roll:

There a country song in all that somewhere. :D

Hey Back - These gals are outside. Where the stalk split I have clamped and tied and then tied the two branches up near the stalk (split) but then forced them back down farther out. I sure don't want to top this one again as these branches are just loaded with buds. I'll get a photo.

Yeah pictures always help. Just keep doing what your doing, tie around the stem really well, and have a support stem sticking in the ground for extra support on that branch if need be. If the stem doesn’t look to be dying then you should be in the clear, it should eventually repair itself and mend back together. If it doesn’t mend and the branch doesn’t die then you may have to keep the string around it, and caulk that up to being lucky. Not to be rude at all, but this is your first grow right? Take this as a learning experience, and I guarantee you won’t let that happen again. Since the plant was grown for so long without being topped or tied down, splitting the stems has a very high rate of happening. The sooner you get started the better, because the stems are weaker, and more flimsy.

Yeah - I got a little aggressive on the tiedown pressure never thinking that the stem might not take it. You can see the red string in the middle forces them together and then farther out I tie them back down.

Now I'm confused. Vertical or lateral? :)

Usually the heat has driven them into the bush by this time but early morning and evening or rainy, gloomy days and they come back. This morning was the perfect recipe. Soon I will be venturing out, when it is cooler in the morning, to start my firewood cutting but it is still far too warm and I sweat easy !!! This year the little bloodsuckers are ravenous!!!

You need your self one of those nets I recently saw at wal mart, that it’s like a jacket/net. I was going to buy it for my wife, but come on let’s be honest here, she won’t need it :goof:
