Green Jeans Greenhouse Outdoor Adventure

Well, I am redesigning my roof AGAIN !!! I'll get pics soon. When it rains now, I have leaks - it's not a big problem but for some reason it plays with my mind!!! And a bit more headroom would be useful. If that window panel is not too much for me and my back holds out, I'm good to go - but if you don't hear from me by lunch call 911 !!!!!!!

OK, that went smoother than expected!! Sliding Glass Door panel is in place. What a Hodge Podge this has become!
Hey Backlipslide - Is this Ghetto enough for ya???!!!???

It would be easier to close in the ends if that solar panel wasn't there but it sure throws a lot of heat in the winter - so it stays.

I went back to check on the forest dwellers - real quick check - the damn mosquitoes must wait back there just for me - I feel so wanted!!! They seem to be doing OK - if they are in flower I need to get a rain shelter built for them but until the mosquitoes die down a little they will have to fend for themselves.

I tied down a bunch of branches on the outdoor gals and Beulah - I am now starting to understand some of these manipulations that you guys (I use "guys" as an all encompassing term) are using to control these unruly teens.

My apologies @greenjeans. I just now got caught up on your journal. I know now why you were impressed with my tight plants. Speaking of, what do you suppose the world record is for the tallest pot plant? My God, those ladies are leggy! I hope your health improves, my friend. Your ladies need you. If I were closer, I'd come over to lend you a hand. Hell, maybe I'm just down the road - I don't know. If I am, let me know and I'll head that way. :)

Oh, I agree and yes I do but........I'm reeeeeaaaaal bad at asking - when I take on these adventures I try not to drag anyone else into my madness!!! Hey - I live in the forest for a reason!!!:slide:Plus I take a certain pleasure in inventing helpful little gadgets - a teapot pourer so my wifes arthritus doesn't act up - a sock holder to help get my socks on...don't get me started!!!!! I never said I was normal!!!!

I'm intrigued. I know the moderators on this site only want pot related pictures, but if one of these inventions were in the background of one of your pics, it wouldn't hurt my feelings.

Hey Fish - I will see how many "cameos" I can pull off before I get "Booted" - just like on facebook - the police wanted me to prove I was who I said I was????? Well, just look at my Blues Band - I'm famous darn it!!!! Well, not as famous as I thought!
Anyway, I had a thought last nite - I've had Bug Killers running all nite somewhat near my girls - they have lights and lately they've been shut off - would that have any effect on the girls???

A fine question that I don't have an answer to. I've read on this forum that tents that have light leaks have cause some plants to hermie because the plants are confused during the dark part of the cycle. I'm not sure about a bug zapper outside though. Maybe your plants just think it's the moon.

I have noticed that my Forest dwellers seem to be at the same stage and they have had no artificial light so I'm hoping everything progresses well. They have not been topped so I'm guessing no point in doing that now - I guess I will get to see how a "natural grow" turns out.
I'm also hoping that the gals are experiencing the "Flowering stretch" - I can't go any higher in my green house!!!!! And I refuse to build a second story - even after topping I'm pretty sure I'm getting close to 10' with Beulah - you can just see almost to the peak of the old roof.

Thanx Smoke - I'll be watching close for that - so far everything has the stigma - for a first grow, these gals are acting up!!! I'm so mad that I completely forgot about the crazy bug zapper lights - these natural outdoor grows are fraut with danger at every turn!!!
I sure hope they are OK because they seem covered with bud sites!! I'll be checking them against the forest dwellers as a comparison.

Well, after checking my other wild forest dwellers that I had even farther out because I thought they were ghouls - as it turns out two are gals and because I thought I may have had some hermies at home - I dug the wild gals up and will try to domesticate them. Things are ever changing at Soggy Bottom Farm.

Damn I fell behind!! It stopped giving me notifications. Next time throw in a @ symbol in front of the backlipslide and you will Basically call me back into the updates :Namaste:

Everything’s looking good greenjeans! And yes that’s looking ghetto enough for me! I love it haha!! As long as it gets what your wanting to get done, finished, then it’s exactly what a person needs! Lol I love it! :thumb:

Yes that plant had some pistils starting, congratulations!!

I’m sorry to hear about your back, I’m glad your feeling better, but damn you can’t work your self into the ground! Slow down enjoy your time with these plants! But shit, that needs to get done? And no one else to do it? Well then I guess you better put those feet back down and get atter! Lol it never ends does it!?

Wish we had more ideas on how to make your job easier on ya!

Your question about the bug zapper, I would have to say it’s a 50/50 right now, as outside plants grow up and get used to the light from the moon, so they are adjusted to a light source shining at them when they are in their dark period. Here’s my thought though, the bug zapper can’t be any brighter then the moon at night, but! The bug zappers are a lot closer to the plant and produce a higher risk of casting/creating shadows and may put the plant at Risk. I would have to say, with all that being said, try use your own judgment on if you think it will cause a problem or not. Because I would say take a picture, but it won’t show entirely and your the only one that will be able to experience the true brightness from them.

I have disconnected all lights, even took the light bulb out at the back of the house and am going to put a flap over the shop light switch just as a reminder not to do anything stupid out there after dark!!!! Gawd, I now have even more gals telling me what to do!!!! I'm only ONE MAN !!!

OK - I figured out that if you top too close to a joint and are a little too aggressive with the tie downs you can split a stem!!! It goes about an inch below the joint - I'm not sure if this is the best remedy but it's what I did. I sure don't want to loose those branches, they are LOADED !!!

Hopefully you can get it jump started. ;)

I’m sorry for laughing but damn alaforina! You have me dying over here!!:rofl: Tears running down my face and my vision is blurred I’m laughing so hard!

Ok all joking aside, yes that tends to happen @greenjeans you always want to be about 2 cm or so above last internode. Not saying it still doesn’t happen, because it can. You’ve done good by tying it back up, eventually stems do repair them selves back together so hopefully all is well!
