Green Crack & White Cookies: Mainlining Under A Sunplix CMH

Yea very happy with it. I might venture back into LEDs one day but for the models i am looking at, i will have to save a while. I think anyone would be happy with this over a cheaper brand LED.

Yeah LED's are no where near worth the money yet maybe when the prices comes down 50percent from now i counted i had to pay 3-4k to have proper LED's with osram chips osram is only one that i can even consider but the prices is more than double vs CMH

but then again when LED's are affortable them the Sulfur lamp might be as well and then LED tech loses again =)

Yeah all LED's under 1000 dollars are useless garbage even some over 1000 are. Only LED fixture i would consider buying is Spectrum king SK600 and i would need 2 of those and that would be 3000 dollars with that money i could buy 2 630w CMHs and like 15 bulbs for them hehe
I think the performance would be pretty equal maybe the spectrum king would win if it's true that 1 SK600 = DE 1000w HPS

DE 1000w HPS is most powerful bulb at the moment in the market about same price as 315w CMH

Yea the SK600 has a good efficacy, i just don't like the 2-3 feet needed for it, better for high bay applications than basements. I am looking at Fluence Spydrxplus myself if i do decide to go LED for my flower room i am going to build. My first choice i think is still going to be CMH. My loose plan as of now is to build a 6 foot x 9 foot room in my new place's basement. It has 8 foot ceilings and i will place 6 315's in a 3x3 grid and ceiling mounted. Seen a lot of guys having great results with this set up.

Ever tho about mixing? use CMH and LED side by side some lower powered panel like 300-400w? some people do it with HPS to get better spectrum but don't know if it's worth it with CMH since it has good spectrum already?
I mix HPS and LED, with it getting warm outside I think it's gonna be my CMH and LED, for flowers and hps for veg

I have seen that with good results, but i will most likely just go all CMH or all LED. Leaning towards CMH at this point simply due to it being much cheaper. This flowering run will give me an idea of how i want to proceed.

What's your tho about those 630w fixtures better than using 2 side by side? i'm thinking 630 could be nice when you use both 3k and 4k bulbs on it same time

In theory that's a great idea, but the output of the 3100 eclipses the 4200 in both PAR and UV. I am not seeing any crazy stretching at this point, so i am just going to most likely use the 4200 for my veg then outfit my flower room with all 3100. I have also thought about just using the 3100 throughout, i vegged most of this grow under the 4100 and am pretty happy and could avoid any spectrum shock that way.

Sorry, I missed your original question about the 630. I think when going with the 3x3 grid pattern, you do more to eliminate shadowing. The 2 in 1 double 315 fixtures lose this aspect IMO, because the lights are too close together. The 315 Phillips bulb are more efficient than the DE 630 from everything I have read as well. It is just my preference to use more lights that are less powerful than less more powerful lights, if that makes sense.

I have a 315w LEC air cooled made by sunsystem, I run a 4k bulb and my hps in my flower room I rotate plants around room so they get hit with both spectrum, but so far I love the growth and the tight nodes and the frosty colas, I am worried about hot months but I also have LED so I can always switch around lights, let me know your thoughts?

I'm obviously biased and a big cmh fanboy because i love them, but
from what ive seen compared to led's is night and day. Especially taking into
consideration the light output and power consumption.

In my opinion the cmh light gives the best buds for power usage i have seen to date.
Most yield for least power usage, and i like that. Ive used the phillips bulb the whole
time and its seems excellent for all stages of the plant.

I think to get similar results you would need more than 300w of led power
and i dont think it would be cheap. Also the life of the product is another
important factor. Seems to be a lot of led's having problems and some of them
are not as efficient as everyone thinks.

Not putting down led's, just not my thing.

Ive seen a lot of people mixing lights, thinking theyre saving power.
4 cfls, a 150w bulb, blah blah blah. If you add some of these setups
up in wattage and power consumption, some of them are using more
than they would if they just put a 315 in there and be done with it.
And get better/more product too.

Suppose thats the beauty of everyone having different grows though
Keeps it interesting.

;)

Looks someone was high and had bright idea hey man let's see what happens if we install 1000w DE HPS and 2x 315w CMH in same fixture and see what happens! hehe little bit of overkill i might say

Yea i have seen some hybrid grow light stuff lately as well. I believe it is a UK company that is putting out CMH/LED combo fixtures that looked like overkill as well.
