Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

For those who've used Herbies, is it big hassle to ask them for a replacement? I had one seed fail in the first order of six, another one in the second order, and now two failed in this last order. I know it depends on the grower's skills, but I dug up the Nexus and it was definitely a dud.

Herbies can be super awesome. They sent me wrong pack of seeds and resent the correct one and a some freebies. Ain't no harm in askin.

You might not have to do anything on your side beside send an email. They usually don't need you to send anything back.

..... Or tell yourself that the other 3 will bush out to make up for the loss like I told myself with my first Tangerine Dream grow (3 out of 5 germed).
I'm posting in defense of our sponsor Herb. They have great customer service as far as 420 members go. I had a bad batch of Feminized Honey Haze which only one out of six made it past the seedling stage & that is the mutant I have now (over 200 days old & still not finished). Back when I started her (the 4th out of 6) & saw how awkward she was growing I contacted Herb. They didn't have Honey Haze at that time but they replaced it with an asst 6pk of feminized beans and added another 5 asst regulars.

They don't want you to send anything back or attach pics to your e-mail showing what became of the beans in question. Just tell them your souvenirs were not up to par as they don't promote growing their beans.

Please be courteous and not use this as an opportunity to gain free seeds after an order. In any collection of beans there's always a chance that some wont make it. They're a 420 Sponsor and part of the reason we have this great site.

I just got a very rich pack of seeds, so I won't have to use Herbie's for like next 5 yrs :) But honestly I've been always getting good seeds from them, which doesn't mean shit cannot happen.

Green Love Potion

I haven't given this strain a fair test, and I this morning I was in the mood for something different, so I pulled out the GLP to see how it turned out. This one molded on me, my first experience with PM, so I had to chop it at 7 weeks instead of the full 9. Even so, I got 37 grams of good bud. It's been jarred with a Boveda 62 for 33 days as of today.

I'm frankly surprised at its potency, feels like the high teens %, since I had to harvest it so early. At the time, it had very good trich production, so much that I didn't notice the PM right away in all the fuzz from the trichs. The bouquet is very rich and complex with a strong piney note as its main feature, with sweet fruity tones to soften it. Inhale has a soft fruity/floral taste coating the lemon/pine, with an odd bitter sort of pepper/onion exhale.

The initial rush is warm and full, fading quickly with some ear zinging and a familiar indica sedation. As I keep hitting it, the buzz steps up predictably. It feels like the munchie quotient is probably on the higher end of the scale - stomach is growling now - gotta go find something to eat soon ... :cheesygrinsmiley: After six hits I'm getting a sort of licorice aftertaste, although it also seems like worchestershire or soy sauce, if any of those tastes have anything in common. I'm smoking this on top of a clean sativa buzz, so I can easily gauge the indica. It's not terribly intrusive in this hybrid - definitely a sativa dom. I wouldn't smoke this if I had weak ambitions, but it'd be good for after dinner or a weekend afternoon.

Keep in mind that these buds were only 7 weeks old. If it had gone 9-10 weeks, it'd be seriously potent, I think. I've been looking for a strain with a good clean sativa buzz and I have a lot of good hybrids already, so this one falls in the category of not a good clean sativa for me. But of the group, this one is rich in terpenes and I wish mine had gone the distance. It's one of the more enticing hybrids I've harvested.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your impressions of Green Love Potion, and am glad to hear that you are finding some enjoyment with her. I really love her refined floral bouquet, and her prodigiously potent effect. She's luxurious to smoke. :yummy: I had more mint and lavender after the 'green' of the pine smell, regressed into the trailing notes. :Namaste::peace:

Pine scent is a typical Afghani trait although this can be refined with longer curing, but taste stays there anyway. Sound like a good hammer to end the day this strain. But I always had problems with varieties giving you strong munchies after half an hour as it kills buzz in my opinion. Then, there are some smokers who like it. Anyway, excellent review Gray :thumb:

The nugs didn't have a chance to swell up, so they're pretty airy, but the trichs are there.

I harvested the rest of the Grapefruit today. This turned out a lot better than I expected. I got 15 grams from the first partial harvest and another 18 from the second, and it looks like there was still over an ounce left. Even better, final brix was 17/17! The first leaf I took read 19 and I didn't believe that, so I took a second set of leaves and took pictures of them and their readings. The first crush was another anomaly at 19, but the next two read 17. I consider that a confirmed 17 - nice! :slide:

Carn3 doesn't look all that great, but she's apparently healthy with brix at 15. I removed a whole bunch of yellowing fans, but it's 32 days since pistils with just 3 weeks to go, and she's nice and sticky already.

WWxSk1 is starting to get serious about making flowers. Everything is swelling up with fresh new growth and fat calyxes, and its' starting to smell. The three Drenches in a row were a bit too much for it, and there's some burning at the leaf tips, but it seems to have recovered and is doing what I hoped it would. Now it's Energy and bulking all the way to the finish, which is supposed to be in three weeks - we'll see about that.

I'll cover the rest of the youngsters in the new LED journal since they'll spend most of their life under it. I'll be moving the Intelligent-Gro to the bloom room when I flip the Utopia Hazes in 2-3 weeks.

How do you get a clear picture through the refractometer, Gray. I can never get a clear shot of the reading with either my phone or camera? Beautiful Grapefruit. :goodjob:

I think it's just the way my camera lens and the refractometer lens line up, and I also use the macro setting. I can't get it to work with my loupe though - just won't line up and focus.
