Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

I chopped Carn1 today and she's impressive - very very sticky. This is the most scissor hash I've gotten from any harvest so far. Heheh, that could be a metric. :cheesygrinsmiley: I've been estimating a little high lately, but I'm still thinking sumpin around 3 z's.

Nice, I love these classic hash balls. If you have a good sugar leaf trim, that's worth processing into hash as well :Hookah:

LOL, my freezer is embarassing! I must have two dozen bags of trim in there. I did some dry-ice kief last fall and it kinda put me off - messy. I wonder how much good oil I could get out of 24 harvests ... ? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Nice going. They look nice and sticky!!!

At least three z's there.

I think you could benefit from cleaning them up some more down low next time. But they look great no doubt.

Yeah, you and Doc are right. I'm getting better. This time, I actually regretted it myself. :cheesygrinsmiley: Today I even felt heartless when I butchered the bottom of Carn3 before putting her in the big-girl room.

Very nice pull, looks like you're gonna be an extra happy camper for awhile :)

I am! Gawd, I love this strain - what a sweetie. You get a clean clear sativa punch that'll put inexperienced smokers away, it's a dream to grow, and it produces 3 z's from 2.5 sqft, under 30 watts per sqft of hps. What's not to love ... ? :cheesygrinsmiley: ... stems are kinda flimsy ...

:high-five:
Top shelf buds in every way. I agree with Shotta....increase bag appeal with a bit of trimming, but the quality is there either way. Your plants are simply incredible this time around.

Comin' from you ... :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanks a ton, Doc. I think I'm getting better at this pot-growing stuff, so I'll take credit for this time around, but it's really really hard to screw up the kit. I've grown quite a variety of strains in this soil and nothing came out sub-average. Pretty cool stuff. Kudos backatcha. :high-five:

Wouldn't it be nice to do a campfire smoke down session and share all the great produce we collectively grow here!

Yeah, I have that same thought. I almost went to 420 this year and thought it'd be nice to hook up with some of us and compare. :cheesygrinsmiley: I don't have anyone to share with. My brother in law used to buy the good stuff when I was smoking brickweed - a lifelong very experienced smoker. I blew him away again last week - done after two hits, finis, de nada, poof, toasted. You really can't compare weed if ya can't get past the first two hits, heheh. I need some smokers who are used to this kind of produce. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Encourage your brother to not stop at two....even inexperienced smokers can enjoy the high brix difference....things even out after about 10 hits on the high brix sativas.

I get a little jumpy and itchy if I have 2 or 3 hits of champagne. But if I smoke a whole joint of it, or take 10 to 12 really big bong rips....well, all kinds of good things happen!

Some of the shamanistic qualities of certain strains really come out in high brix. A warm, starry night and a few really good sativa buds can be a journey of self discovery. Also works great when a lover is into it.

Well done bro! What a shame you have no one to share it with! It won't take long to make a lot of friends, once they try it.

10 to 12 really big bong hits. LoL. Doc you are the man, seriously...

I am itching to get another brix round going here shortly. Shouldnt be long.

Looking forward to it! I gotta check out your new journal, so busy now I just follow a handful.

But yeah....this plant, when grown right....just gets better the more you smoke. 10 hits, 20 hits....at some point you feel so damn good you could smoke more...or not....you don't even feel high anymore. Instead you feel "right." Very peaceful, happy, and in touch with life in a fundamental, honest sort of way.

It's nightime campfire weather! That means large joints amongst friends....10 to 20 hits before ya know it! Then you BBQ.

Gray, you really have this perpetual grow (or as I like to call it) Neverendingharvest going. Congrats once, no twice more.

You got me thinking ...

I simply get weary of taking hit after hit, so it's difficult to get past a certain threshold, but ...

The bong ... ! I don't have one because it's just me and the mrs and they have to be maintained, etc, but I should get one for just what you're talking about - that resonates. Excellent use of a bong, especially with smooth smoke like HB. A guy could get hisself most thoroughly toasted that way.

Hey Graytail!!!! just wanted to stop by and say ...... Holy freaking Wow!!! Your buds look absolutely gorgeous!!! Frosty nuglets of heaven they are!!!

Amazing job Graytail!!! Truly a master!

I got all used to this old brass bat - it's just perfect for the two of us. I roll up a little wad and stuff it in the end and fire it up with a bic. One hit for me, one for Mrs Graytail, repeat at will. :bongrip:

But yeah, the more I think about it, the more I think I need a bong. Back in the day, I had a sweet little yelllow-patterned porcelain one - slip-in metal bowl and stem, maybe 8 inches tall. That was nice. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Ok, it's update time again and I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that it appears I will now learn about PM and other fungal issues. Green Love Potion caught the white powder with black spots, yup. I'm at a forced lull in my perpetual because I wasn't sure I was going to grow over the summer. But when I calculated the cost to a perpetual - like 6 months to get back up to speed - I decided to try for just a few unimportant strains over the hot period. So I have an accidental Cotton Candy x Carnival and a freebie WW x Skunk#1. The GLP was a freebie, too. So, anyway, when I discovered what looked like PM last week, it was only on GLP and she'd already had it for a week, so I decided to watch and learn. The good news is that the others don't have much of an issue with it as of now. So I had to chop GLP way early - bad news. It does look like great smoke as it is, though, just not much yield, another clunker.

The good news is Carn2. :yahoo: The first leaf I crushed for a brix reading got me a 19. I always crush it twice and yup, another 19. Uh huh, sure. So I got another leaf and that one read 18, with an 18 second time. :thedoubletake: Carn2 read a confirmed, legit 18/19 this week!!! :yahoo: If I had the room to dry it, I'd harvest it tomorrow, but I'd kinda like to let one run really long and see what it'll do, so unless brix starts to crash I'm gonna let 'er run. But wow, I may have to cut a sample. I want to try some 18/19 brix weed.

Here's what Green Love Potion amounted to before the chop. I haven't grown a plant that was so firm about growing straight up! It's eerie. It has seven main stalks and they're all snugged up tightly. The plant literally takes up no more space than the pot. The contrast between this and the weak, floppy Carnival is stark. This would be a great plant for a flux, for those of you that do it. Once you create your frame, everything would grow stiffly straight up. Same for a LST/SOG sort of method - might be fun to try. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Next will be Panama, coming sooner than expected. Everyone is quicker to finish than I scheduled. Maybe it's the heat - the room is running at 80 now instead of the low 70s. It's been growing nanners for about a week, though, so I may not be able to hold it off. That's how I got this seed after all. :cheesygrinsmiley: But it sure looks like it was self-pollenated and bred true so that's some more good news. I have dozens of seeds now. :yahoo:

GF1 didn't stretch worth a crap, so she's another squat lil thang. At least this soil is ok, unlike her mother's, so yield and quality will be better, and I have another one in the wings that I'll fatten up good before flipping.

WWxSk finally is showing some sex, sheesh! Wow - this one almost got away from me! She's grown 13 inches in 8 days. She's already at the top of my preferred height range and just today I saw some wispy little white hairs, so I'm a lil nervous about how much more stretch is coming. And ... WW x Skunk#1? I had a Kerala x Sk#1 and it didn't stretch like this. It sure can't be the WW. I just didn't see this coming. If it survives fungus and heat this summer it'll be an interesting finish, I think.

And Carn3 got rotated into the bloom room to replace Carn1. It looks like I have four healthy cuts right now, so I feel safe about this pheno - can't risk losing this one.

And that's it for now. Things will wind down after this flurry of harvests and I'll be down to 3-4 plants in bloom. The next generation will start with two Utopia Haze. :cheesygrinsmiley: I'm keeping the Carnival and maybe the Grapefruit if this next one seems worth it, and I have seeds for my purple Panama pheno. Next after Utopia will be a Blue Blood for the CBD, but I think I'll probably start a new journal for the next run. Stay tuned. :cheesygrinsmiley: Here are the cute lil Utopia Hazes.
