Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

Hey Graytail!!!! just wanted to stop by and say ...... Holy freaking Wow!!! Your buds look absolutely gorgeous!!! Frosty nuglets of heaven they are!!!

Amazing job Graytail!!! Truly a master!

Glad you stopped by, Ice! :thanks:

Ya mon, InI be jammin' in the bloom room. :slide: :ganjamon: Everything is coming in a bunch and some of it looks really good. :cheesygrinsmiley:

incredible. panama has a lockout which is why the buds aren't as big as they could be.

Does sulfur burner really work for PM, and where can I get one in Europe? I don't have problem with cannabis but my goji berries caught it, and it didn't go away after spraying with lactobacillus acidophilus, which worked for mold for me. I get RH of 70-80% in the spring here.

Yeah, I have that same thought. I almost went to 420 this year and thought it'd be nice to hook up with some of us and compare. :cheesygrinsmiley: I don't have anyone to share with. My brother in law used to buy the good stuff when I was smoking brickweed - a lifelong very experienced smoker. I blew him away again last week - done after two hits, finis, de nada, poof, toasted. You really can't compare weed if ya can't get past the first two hits, heheh. I need some smokers who are used to this kind of produce. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I may be a little too used to this kind of produce, but I'll smoke with ya!

I can be packed ohhh in about 10 minutes or so and I would just love to smoke your produce and heck I'll just give ya mine cause ahhhh I know which I am going to prefer and there is very little doubt that I will be stoned with 2 hits but I gold plate guarantee ya I can keep on keeping on. I too have lifelong experience with this particular produce....:passitleft:.....:circle-of-love:

wow i like it

Thanks Medo, good to see you here! :thumb:

Thanks, B! But in this soil typical lockouts are virtually impossible. There was a pic of some mid-canopy buds 'cause they're so colorful, but the top buds are knobby and dense. Over time, my mineral ratios can fall out of balance and I can get a sort of a lockout issue, but ph is stuck where it is - nothing can move it in this sort of soil. The minerals hold it stable.

Doc says it's a slam-dunk cure - bad stuff gets destroyed and the girls just enjoy a brief sulfur spa. :cheesygrinsmiley: Others have used it with great success including PotChimp who just set one up in one of his units if you want to follow along. The 'bay has some choices including a slightly less expensive one from Israel.

:passitleft: High Gray and beautiful show.....:circle-of-love:

:kisstwo:

super nice buds bro. congrats on that brix number. cant wait to hear how it translates into taste and high.

I'm gonna cut a sample today. :rollit:

Hellz yeah! We could sample dozens of strains. I'll bring a couple dozen, you can bring a couple dozen ... :cheesygrinsmiley:

Great looking plants GT! reps ordered and on the way.

Thank ya sir! "Grats on the new part time gig! I want to move to CO or Washington and open a lil private consulting/supplies business. I'd love to help people set up a quality home grow. You have my dream retirement job. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I used to drive by your neck of the woods 3 times a year. If we were still doing it, we'd definitely swing by your place for an afternoon! You supply the munchies, I'll bring the smoke.

:high-five:

Hey Graytail I did the sulfer evaporator thing in a few of my units so far. Any newly flowering plants I have in the same unit are getting taken out from now on; young shoots and tips aren't exactly sulfer dioxide friendly (between 1-2 weeks of flower)>>>>>

And at 5 weeks of flower, rock hard nugs, plus mold prone to begin with this GDP already has it in one spot again>>>>>

0041647.JPG

That plant is too far along, and there are too many tight places for spores to stay protected; they come out again right after the vapors fade away. I see why you use this apparatus during the third week of flower now.
I used it in another grow that all 3 plants were just past 3 weeks and I'll let you know how that one goes.

:peace:

I noticed something cool in my last update pics. I haven't been trimming the wispy bud sites out of the bottoms of my plants because I really don't care that much about how my buds look - trichs are trichs and the bottom buds get me plenty high.

But ... look at both the GLP and the Panama. I first saw it on the Panama with the horizontal division in the bands of color. And then I was scrolling up and down looking at the ridiculously tall skinny GLP, and it has a rather definite line across it, too. You can see the effect of light penetration on these two plants like bands of sediment in a cliffside - quite a strong illustration. I've been thinking that I have 12-18 inches of effective light penetration, but you can see from the pics that I have closer to 12 inches.

So, in the future there really isn't a good reason not to keep them trimmed for a 14 inch canopy.

Cool visual, huh?

Now Gray, you know I try to be as respectable as possible but that update on post #1219; only one word I can say... DAMN!

Sorry about the french.

RE Sulfur burner:

I use it on very young plants, including freshly transplanted clones. I haven't had any damage to the plant from the sulfur. FWIW, here's my procedure:

1. turn off fans, exhaust....all of them.
2. get rh up to 90% or higher.....the wetter the better. I put two humidifiers on full blast with the de-huey OFF.
3. Leave AC ON. The sulfur vapor will kill spores in the AC unit too.
4. Burn for 6 hours the first time, 2-4 hours the next time....lights off.

The high RH will help kill spores even deep inside buds....but there might be a flavor on some unless you wash the harvest....which of course I do.

If they come into bloom clean of PM from veg, a single burn at week 3 of bloom will take you to the end without PM. If you have a particlularly bad problem.....take all the plants out, put all your pots in the room, and burn for 12 hours which will sterilize the room.

Then go back to the 3rd week of bloom, etc. No PM. Not an issue.

Thanks for the sulphur burner instructions, Doc - appreciate it. :thumb:

Panama is strating to grow too many nanners, so I'll chop her in the next couple days, too. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Congrats again Gray...

Second thanks on the sulfer evaporator info, Doc Bud. There's nowhere in the literature that gives times; I thought 3 hours in a grow closet would be good enough seeing how small the cubic area is. That would explain the quick comeback of the mold. I'll do it again tonight for a full 6 hours. I can't get my humidity higher, but I'll mist all these plants before lights out.
