Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

Time for another update!

Utopia Haze is dried and jarred and it yielded 34 grams/1.2 ounces over 125 days for a lousy 0.272 gr/day. But I love the smoke! I think I'm going to take the two hot summer months off, and regroup. If I do, I want to start 3 new Utopia Hazes for the new run. I have it in reveg, but I'm not confidant - it lookes pretty tired. If I don't get any cuts off it, I'll try seeds again. This one is worth it.

I think JD4 will be the next harvest, sometime in the next two weeks. She's getting really fat and sticky and turning color. :cheesygrinsmiley:

SLH reveg is still hummin' along - at least two more weeks, I think. She's sparse but fattening up and making trichs.

WP1 is living up to her mom's standard. This is one has far fewer tops, and her mom still grew fat hard buds on all hers. These colas are going to be really nice.

Pana1 has a good pistil set now and is frosting up - just finished her 2 Cat drenches and got Trans/water today. I can't wait to see how the second run turns out. This pheno is spectacular!

Cotton Candy and Carnival are in the flower room now. Carnival looks great - it'll be the first to finish at 9 weeks and the Cotton Candy should be a week or two later. CC isn't looking all that good right now - don' know why she's limp.

Grapefruit is still behind and not catching up. Brix is still iffy, in the 10 range, so sumpin ain' right in the soil. Patience has served me well in the past, so ... it'll hook up soon. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I put WP2 in a 6 gallon pot and potted some clones. I have a Panama cut I took in early flower so I could see how that works. If I want to wrap things up in June, I'm about done starting plants, so these are stragglers. I'll probably keep a reveg or two and a couple mothers for the next run.

Congrats on your harvest Gray.

I just posted in tavo's journal - he has some plants that are a few weeks from finished, and they're getting that look to them ...

And I got to thinking how much I love plants at that stage. Looking in the room every day becomes a simple joy. I have a few just 2-3 weeks away and every day there's something delightful about each of them. I find an amazing bud, or the whole plant just kinda glows, or I realize there are a lot more trichs than I remembered from yesterday, ya know? The terpenes start to thicken up and change, some plants turn colors, what looked like really nice buds suddenly start to swell up take on a sticky tortured look ...

Mmmm ... it's an interesting hobby.

great harvest looks super tasty +REPS

you have all kinds of goodies growing in that jungle! im loving it brotha

WOW..beautiful!!

Thanks! This is one of the things I love about a perpetual - there's always something almost ready. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Beautiful as always......:circle-of-love:

Thank ya, darlin' - congrats on the new tent and Mars II!

Congrats on your harvest Gray.

Thanks, Reg and congratulations to you on your harvest as well! :;):

Congrats on the harvest, and as usual amazing photo update! I am so excited to see that JD coming to fruition, that plant has been so consistently beautiful. Visiting your journal always feels like a stroll through the garden of eden.
:circle-of-love:

Ah, I do appreciate those who appreciate my pics - thank you! Heheh, JD has bewitched you, too. I have all this new stuff - an amazing Panama pheno, the fabulous Utopia Haze - but sheesh, Jamaican Dream is her own girl, my everyday smoke and an absolute joy to grow. She gettin' all stanky again now like she does - can't hardly touch her without making a big mess - and this time it's going kinda blue ...

Yeah, it's just the wife and I, and I wanted lots of variety, so ... heheh.

You're going to get to see for yourself, soon, how the kit grows this plant. :cheesygrinsmiley: :thumb:

:cheesygrinsmiley: They do exude joy from time to time, like a deliriously happy dog - all perky and eager.

I've been a little concerned about my soil health - not so much that it's bad, but that it's not fully cooked. I keep getting what seem like duds, like the soil just isn't hooked up. Part of it could be blamed on my recycling method. I have about 20-30 gallons in a bin, and I take out soil for new transplants and dump old soil back in and mix it up with a recharge and a little conditioner. But this happens 2-3 times a month, so the entire bin never really "cooks". On the one hand, I'm tossing all the beneficial biota back in with the rest of the cooking soil, so that's good. But the new minerals don't get much of a chance to break down before they get dumped into a new pot.

Well, I think I'm ok. I started tossing all the defol material back into the bin and ... it disappears in a week or less. :cheesygrinsmiley:

That seems like it would be a definitive test, no?

I know curso lets his used soil "age" before dumping it back into the new stuff. What he means by that, im not too sure. Im sure hed be more than happy to give you a tip or two in those regards sir :)

I'm just starting out with the compost thing myself, so I can't help. I was thinking of making it from stems and leaves to mix into compost teas; and was actually thinking of using alfalfa meal to activate it some. I have a bin with a mix of spent soils and leaves, but it's taking forever to decompose.

I keep it in a covered 32 gallon bin in the furnace room. :cheesygrinsmiley: Nice and toasty. I do find that I have to water it every couple weeks though. When the outside temp is well under freezing for weeks on end, humidity is hard to come by.

But it's eating up dead leaves in less than a week - gotta be good stuff goin' on in there.

I have 30 gallons of mineralized soil that's been cooking for months. I've been wondering if I could do something interesting with it - gotta be some pretty good stuff. I wonder if a guy would want to water it with some ACT on a regular basis and let it sit - I wouldn't need it for another few months anyway ...
