Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

Thanks, Hash, you're a mensch!

I knew that the NL lineage is confused and legendary, but I went wrong with the reference to having come up from California, where I assumed it had been crossed with Columbian/Mexican. I'll take it on faith that it wasn't. I ran Nirvana's NL Autos and they didn't resemble an indica much - in fact they looked just like a "generic skunk" - like any number of other Afghan/sativa crosses.

Thanks for the info!

My understanding is that NL is a Skunk - Afghan Kush x american sativa - basically the first Skunk, but yeah, there are a whole bunch of landraces I'd like to have - the weird sativas like Dr Grinspoon, for example. :cheesygrinsmiley:

You must be getting a kick out of my Utopia Haze from Brazilian sativas. Ever seen anything grow like that before?

I noticed it seems to look a lot like what my Hawaiian Snow would if single branch. But I topped my Hawaiian Snow. Seems to have same branching pattern, unlike the tangerine dream that are long single colas with not much branching.

:yummy:I'm waiting on some wild thailand and sleestack x skunk #1 seeds now. Do you know anything about those?

My Wild Thailand is a mixup, so don't go by that. Wild Thailand is a fast tall sativa. My memory isn't working at the moment, but I know 3-4 growers are running a Wild Thai right now. Is Steppenwolf one of them? - he hasn't updated in awhile. Sleestack has always sounded interesting, and I'd like to get to know Skunk#1 better. I liked the Kerala x Skunk#1 I ran - seems the breeeder has been crossing Skunk#1 with everything they can think of. Sleeslack should be a nice manageable sativa after the cross.

Seedfinder.com is a great seed reference.

[Edit] Any2 is running some Wild Thais.

They're all fantasies, starting with Thai Stick. :cheesygrinsmiley:

But I've harvested 8 strains so far, and I'm saving Super Lemon Haze, Jamaican Dream, White Panther and probably Panama. SLH will mess you up, JD is a reliable companion, WP is happy and sociable, dunno about Panama yet - kinda sweet and warmly high like JD I think. I also need a sledgehammer indica, and someday I have to explore the OGs, I think next fall. I also have a hankering to try some of the "psychedelic" strains like Zamaldelica. Ach, forgot the Kushes - gotta check out the Kushes, too ...

As Graytail alluded to in his response, there are FAR too many strains/variability to pick just 3.

Actually, with Afghan Kush, Thai Stick and Columbian, a guy could breed about anything he wanted. That's where all the strains came from.

I don't know man, what about things like a Northern Lights, or a pure Hawaiian strain (may be like Thai Stick but not the same).

I love genetics :)

I too LOVE genetics. i can get lost on any number of sites i go to for strain info for hours.
Asking what 3 strains you would go with is def a loaded question becuase i know 99% of us could hardly narrow it down to less than 5 or more but just curious if anyone had it narrowed down to 3 :Namaste:

for me as far as what ive grown id have to go with:
blue dream
jillybean
white widow

im working on arjans haze #1 and strawberry haze so im hoping one of these 2 sativas make the cut!!
as well as this martian kush and silver kush cause ive not grown much kush, then of course both of these 2 are kush crossed with og #18 so we will see

ive never heard of thai stick but it sure sounds interesting:high-five:

thai stick is not the same as wild Thailand or at least it didn't used to be. In the old days (haha) it was kinda like a cross of hash and great bud. I don't really know how to explain it but old school thai I haven't seen in many many years..........:dreamy:
Yeah Lady Dee! That's the Ti-stick I was talking about. That & Hardest Hard was kickin in NYC when I was in the # & # grade; the years I made the crossover from experimenting to life time pothead.
Can't let everyone know how over the hill am...

Haha....I know exactly how old you are. Thai Stick was showing up when I was in 8th and 9th grades.

Real Thai stick featured bud material sown onto a stick....often a stem, sometimes a wooden stick like you'd serve terriyaki chicken on. It was reported that these sticks were often dipped in opium residue as well.

My champagne strain is the closest I've come to that old flavor and effect. It's a 100% pure Thai strain. I've heard that authentic Chocolate Thai is one of the strains used in Thai Stick as well.

There's another factor to consider: back then all the buds were seeded, which changes the high a bit. Some say it makes it stronger, others just say different. It's something to consider.

Yep Doc. We didn't have a stick sort of say in it but it was like a stick. Back then everything on the street came in tray bags ($3) & nickel bags ($5). Ti-Stick was the only thing that came in wraps not bags ($10 wraps). Do you know how much $10 was to a grade school pothead back then? LMAO

There are a few hybrids that have produced manageable plants that claim to still have the right buzz. Thai-Tanic is well rated.

Had a flash of memory ... :cheesygrinsmiley: ... two more worth looking into are Fruity Thai and Sweet Tai.

Fruity Thai is a cupwinner.

Who said I waited until HS to become a pothead? I said grade school but not which grade... LOL But the 30's were good times.

Like this Doc? 35+ year old Thai stick string and seeds. I try to germinate some every once in a while. No luck yet.

Have you found a recommended brix for cannabis? I've looked before and was surprised how little there is about brix, much less brix and cannabis. Doc says 12 generally gets you a trouble-free plant from his experience. That might have gotten repeated around the forums. I've had perfectly healthy and shiny plants with readings as low as 9, and ugly crap like my Hawaiian Snow that consistantly read 14. I've finished some as low as 11 and as high as 16. Lately, the readings have narrowed down to the low teens as my soil matures and I get a better handle on what I'm doing.

Looked everywhere, and no. I'm assuming that the general brix# for garden vegetables was used because our favorite plant is an annual. When full legal status is attained in this country and a lot of money is to be made from the answer, you'll see that number popping up if I know my fellow Americans right. :)
