Graytail's 4th Perpetual: 4x4 Samsung Panels

Hey Gray!
Thanks for a great year on the forum :high-five: And for all the help and conversation and friendship and laughs and insights and beautiful plants. :slide:

:high-five:

Yer welcome Amy! I've enjoyed getting to know you. :Namaste: That's probably the most satisfying thing about hanging around on this forum - you meet so many fun and interesting people.

Happy New Year Gray, :thumb: Thanks for everything. DC3 was flipped today, she needs to get horny the colloidal Carnival is almost ready to spew pollen. :Namaste:
,

Hey, that's a timely sentiment in more than one way - I chopped DCPurple today! :slide:

Here's what she looked like at the end. The scissor hash was surprisingly zippy! I have a few little broken buds that should be dried enough to test tomorrow. So far, it's encouraging - smells and tastes divine. :)

Let the New Year turn great for you!

Happy new year gray! I have a question, can I veg with 3000k? I don’t have a board big enough for the 5x5, I up canned to the 10 gallons. Wanted to veg another week, but I’m not sure if the 3000k QB’s are ok
You should be fine. People veg with HPS lights and they are usually 2600K I believe and maybe even lower.

She's a beaut! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year GT!
Let the New Year turn great for you!

Thank you, fellow growers. :thanks:

Actually, it occurs to me that my year is starting off with a bang. I've been groaning to myself about having to chop so many plants all at once, but it's sure going to give me a nice new selection to evaluate! :yahoo:

I jarred that teensy DC5 runt and she yielded 28 grams. I cracked the jar this morning for a sample and I got a blast of pure paint thinner/brush cleaner! Wow! I've been looking for a strong fuelly pheno.

Happy New Year Gray. That DC is a stunner. Is that one you keep or was that from seed? I lose track of which ones are clones and which ones are from seed. I thought Stage was going to post an update with his DC. I saw it on IG and it is one of the prettiest I've seen. It looks a lot like that DC 3, very purple. How have the naner issues been?

That DC is an S1 seed from my DC2 pheno that was strong purple with heavy terps. So we're into 3rd gen now - the initial F1 Carnival x DDA, then a selfed purple photo, and now another selfed purple photo.

As far as nanners, I've run 8 F2s and this F3 and none of them has nannered. Whatever dusted DC2 never showed up anywhere - musta been one of those little clusters that'll pop up against the bottom of the main stem. :hmmmm: But nothing like SweetSue has had to deal with.

DeadlySativa2 at 9 weeks is going to be ready before DS1 at 10 weeks. :) I think I'll take it down today or tomorrow. DS2 is smellier, but I'm jealous of your cut - don' think this one is going to be 3% terps either. I think I may have to start paying more attention to feeding for terps. :hmmmm:

Yup. A week is nothing. If you ran them under 3000K for weeks, you'd get a little slower growth. As Yeti pointed out, many old-schoolers are still vegging under hps, and I recently heard that Europeans prefer it, too. I've always felt that spectrum, in the big picture, is minutia. It hardly matters, unless you've already dialed-in your atmosphere control, with adequate, dispersed light coverage already. Then maybe tinker with spectrum.

Happy New Year Gray, beautiful harvest! I hope those little bug bits are dry enough for you today, would be a nice New Year treat!

I'm gonna have those bits, as well as DC5 to test. :yahoo: :bongrip: And we're wayyyy below zero today after a day and night of 25 mph winds carving the new foot of snow into sculptured drifts. Cozy. Definitely winter.

Brrr! Sounds perfect for holding up in front of fire with all that fire in your pipe! Which makes it sound also super cosy

Do you mean seeing if you notice an increase with terps with stronger drenches? Interested in this line of thought and really cool to see all the DC phenos, how many would you say are purple phenos 25%?

I'm a pretty careless grower when it comes to the small stuff, and I don't make any effort to tweak my drenches for any particular purpose. I know that Neiko has been trying to boost his terps, for instance, and he's getting good results. Growth, Trans, and Cat drenches will all have different effects on terp production and strength. I typically apply Cat drench later than most people, and sometimes a second Cat cycle if they run long. That will effect terps, tending toward a dank aroma rather than the sweeter taste that Growth will produce. So far, I've been primarily feeding Growth near harvest.

I've run 8 DevilsCarnival F2s now. 2 were autos - one purple, one green. 2 were green photos - both heavy lime/fuel. 2 were green with some pinkish pistils - one Carn leaner, one DDA, with a mild fruity taste . And 2 were purple - one sweet plum and one blueberry muffin. The first purple photo, DC2, pollenated itself and the F3 (F1-S1-S2) seed produced a purple photo. It's still drying but seems to have the plum taste.

So yes, about 25% of the F2s are purple. :slide:

The one I'm keeping alive right now is a fuely-purple! Fun. I want to see what she does in the Cali sunshine...

Nice!

I've been having a heck of a lot of fun running them. I haven't found a very potent one yet but they're always welcome in the pipe. The buzz is typical hybrid but slightly on the buzzy side, not much of a crash.

I'd advise vegging it for awhile. None of them tend to stretch or yield much.

:Namaste:
