Evening Gray, nice fluffy colonies you have growing there
I have a question about my light, and it’s use.
I have some new seedlings in, autos, they’re a few days out of the soil. I started them under a weak cfl (4000k).
Then I moved them to 3’ under my array of 5x128 diode boards getting about 20watts each.
I did have it turned up higher but the new leaves were getting bleached so I backed off the light. They’re still coming out looking bleached tho.
Maybe it’s something else but getting the light wrong is the only thing I can think of.
I took these, yesterday before I turned the light down. Today it continues and new growth comes out looking like this.
Curious what you think...
Amy, that is a classic Magnesium deficiency, make sure your ph is around 6.0 or so. Calmag will do the trick if ph is in range.
Ok thanks both.
Yes - I didn’t think it could be the light but couldn’t figure out anything else, so thanks for confirming that Gray.
These are in the DBHBB kit with gnat nix on top of the soil (I have no interest in hempy ). My water is rain water. The other seedlings the are a little older (than the one in photo) were green and went white under the led. Maybe the light isn’t enough!?
Anyway I’m trying to get them outside... I have some challenging circumstances that don’t matter so much growing photos where time is fairly relaxed early on... but getting a successful routine for autos is trickier!
So it was helpful Gray!
Edit:On the nutrient things you both mentioned... I thought that wasn’t really possible at this stage - seedling has everything it needs to get going, right?
Amy, you are correct! That seedling is too young to have a PH-related nutrient deficiency! I'm sure she's just "getting her footing" and will grow out of it. It's possible you have some variegated leaf pheno, but more likely she just needs to get some roots out.
