Graytail's 4th Perpetual: 4x4 Samsung Panels

I've been wondering if that's not a big part of it. The Depression and the war years still live in me from my parents and grandparents. I still remember their root cellar with the canned goods and the balls of string and rubber bands and foil. Shoes were expensive. There was virtually no access to credit. You had only what you had.

I don't think that's a cultural memory anymore. That couldn't ever happen again, you see. "Someone" will take care of stuff.
I hear these commercials with lines like "Students are burdened with excessive debt". Wait, who burdened them? Who the freaking hell told them to go take out 140k in student loans for a piece of paper in a field that will likely never pay more than an average waiter or waitress will earn. My daughter in law is one of them.

No you are correct, its not a cultural memory. We are fully indoctrinated into the entitlement age. My parents both came from those times and lifestyles you spoke of. My dad chose to go back to it after seeing how the world was going and luckily taught me enough to pass on the interest. Its much of the reason we chose to move further away and live and more self sustaining type lifestyle. We've been waiting for the shit storm for a while now!!

A Country Boy can Survive :high-five:

When I was growing we didn’t have running water. We had an outhouse and a well. We heated a 2 story home with a single coal stove in the living room. All of our veggies we grew and canned ourselves. Grandpa would wheel and deal for pork and beef and we raised chickens, rabbits and pigeon for meat and eggs. So many people have no clue.

When I was at my last duty station in the DC area, I was surprised to find out how many people living in southern maryland still didn't have running water or electricity. We had a group of guys that would cut wood and deliver it to the elderly out there that still lived that way. Tough people man!! We had a running joke about the SMIBs (Southern Maryland In-Breds) with some of them though.....family trees looked awful straight.

My grandfather fought in WW1, then married and raised 4 girls during the Depression. He worked building textile mills. He'd sawn off parts of most of his fingers by the time I was born and old enough to remember him. Shoulda seen him shuffle and deal cards. I remember staring at his fingers, amazed. Tough guy, that man. I doubt he would have been very patient about whiners. :laughtwo:

That generation didn't, nor did the one following that one. I love them tough old bastards! I used to run into a bunch of them at the VFW and American Legion events. Not so common anymore :( Probably some of my favorite generations to listen to talk. So many stories and lessons to learn if ya just listen!

I think we’re ready for a reset meaning the entire system.

Why was the World Economic Forum gaming a pandemic six weeks prior to the corona virus breakout in China?
I know, I don't know what's real and what's a conspiracy anymore. :hmmmm:

Yeah, me, too! Now, we ARE the "old timers"!

Lol, yeah, imagine being them in the 60s! :laughtwo: Now we know.

And the WHO was what, clueless?

I had a disturbing thought the other day. College kids are back, positives are spiking, tests are showing 5-8%. Still? How can every damn test show 5% positives? We now know that T-cells shed the virus before it "infects" us. So ... is this repeated exposure without infection? How can so many sampled people always show the same ratios (roughly)? I've caught a couple graphs and you can see the ratio rise and fall, but it should fade away, right? I mean, at some point everyone has been positive at one time or another, right? 5% at a time. :hmmmm:

So ... it depends on viral load, we know that. High repeated exposure will get you sick, actually sick, not just positive. So ... does this thing remain in the background because we never get sick enough to build antibodies? "They" are building this big infrastructure for something that's less deadly than the flu (unless you're over 60). Why? Maybe this is just the first round, and "they" know it.

Or "they" just want/need more power. I'm not that cynical, so I think it all has to do with defensive preparation. There are some odd associations and odd moves being made between organizations.

So far this season we've canned maters, green beans, peaches and froze corn. We've made jam's from the wild blackberries off our land. Hopefully I'll get a whitetail for the freezer in the fall. We raise chickens for our eggs.

We have more of a relationship with the food we eat. Like our elders did. Most folks nowadays wouldn't know what to do without the massive freezer section at the grocery store. Hell I'd say most can't even really cook

Oh How I Wish that would happen but big brother has gotten too Big. Try to rally a bunch of people to that cause and see how fast it gets shut down and the ring leaders would be sent to Getmo

Oh shit.... this is good!

academia has mucho skin in the game, they are too big to fail so classes must go on. We gotta keep their tenured salaries, athletic departments and general coffers all happy. Now new cases are spiking all over again but amongst our youth. The families are locked in too, they must pay yet they are raping families by not refunding money for meals, housing or tuition yet keeping our kids hamstrung in dorms where spread is inevitable. Many wise parents yanked their freshmen after 1 week on campus here. We saw there was an exodus of folks leaving but the majority stayed. Academia brought us the concept of using pods for younger school kids to learn in groups but a campus outbreak does not count unless there are at least 5 persons infected in any given dorm building and they call that a cluster. So 3 cases in a dorm hall doesn’t count? WTF?? Yes I don’t know much about counting or clusters but I can easily recognize a clusterfuck when I see one.

All the while the early thought and discussion was that colleges and universities took on legal liability just by opening the doors for fall 2020 classes. Did that slow their roll in any manner? Absofuckinglutely not, damn the torpedoes, forget the huge waterfalls, nevermind this world wide virus thingy.... we are academia and your kids will never amount to crapola with out us. Just trust us we know what’s best for you!

Ok academia you are supposed to have brilliance, forethought and data points on a graph to show how it’s done. But none of you whack jobs gave one scintilla of a rats ass about this decision to open and put kids in harms way. How many parents will it take to sue their pants off before they say oh yeah we are the best and brightest and your kids need our degree to be productive but um yeah we screwed the pooch and now please bail us out financially because we were too stupid to suspend classes. The pisser is they tried in person classes and within 1 week the COVID cases spiked so now it’s online learning. Yes it’s online cuz you fucked up in a major way. You got greedy and wanted the housing plus meals plus tuition- whereas if you really cared you would have done online learning from the git-go. The kids didn’t need to move in - we have this thing now called the information superhighway that Al Gore invented for us - maybe they could use that for some kind of virtual classroom?? Funny thing like 100% of our states county school systems which are not well funded got it right from the start with virtual learning.

They same goes for college sports, ok so now we are gonna add heat, sweat, breathing hard, intimately close personal contact thru tackling and body blocks etc to the mix. But no we are planning for our regular season to go on..... really now?? Please tell me more of this brilliant plan - I can’t possibly see how this could infect any of the players or coaching assistants. It should be totally safe to educate your kids in dorms or allow them to play sports in the middle of a FUCKING PANDEMIC!!!

In times past we were subject to kings, all authority went to the crown. But now we have 535 little kings in Senate and Congress and everyone has their a twisted agenda to help their own special interests groups.

America, founded by geniuses..... but ran by idiots!

Now we talking a whole new level of mystery that I have been following quietly for some time with mild interest.....who really pulls the shot in the world. I never really bought into the conspiracy theory of a few ultra powerful people behind the curtains calling the shots, but as the world gets crazier, it certainly appears that there may be some merit to that line of thinking. No wait, our government would never lie to us about things.....we gotta trust them!!

Hey, we were only told for 70 plus years that UFOs and aliens weren't real, only to be quietly told that UFOs are real. Guess you gotta have some justification for the Space Force lol. Makes you wonder what technology they are hiding from us as well.
