Graytail's 3rd: 4x4, HiBrix, Latest LED Tech, Lots Of Light!

How much longer do you figure on Rio3? I mean, that Carnival at 114 days is one fine and statuesque beauty just straining to get in there and show off. Geez, what a beautiful plant. They're all beautiful, even with the danged whiteflies.

Freddy's best is living up to its reputation. Those were some beautiful close-up shots Graytail.

I'll have to stroll through again tomorrow. For some reason my iPad won't get me on the Internet and I'm using the phone. The eyes are complaining. Tomorrow then. :battingeyelashes:

:thanks: Rio3 is gonna be awhile - due in early May.

Wow Graytail!!! Those are some beautiful, chunky, frosty, sticky, lovely, amazing plants you have their sir!!! wow! That freddies best looks so shiny too! and that Taskenti!!! wow!

:welldone::Namaste::high-five:

Thank ya, sir! They ain' much to look at but all the right stuff is there. :cheesygrinsmiley: Recently, I ran across another article about stress and trichome production and it made me wonder if the insect pressure isn't helping. I'm getting small yields this round but they're surprising me with their punch.

You saw that crazy shine off Freddy's too? They look like they're made of waxed leather!

Sorry to hear about the Spino not working. That stuff cured 3 Thrip infestations for me like nothing. It kills those hell beasts that won't be named, so you would think it would kill some measley flies. I understand it overexcites the nervous system of certain insect species, so it really comes down to their little fly brains. They don't seem to be more than a nuisance, the plants look stellar as always! :high-five:

Heheh, well it didn't qualify as "eradication" but we haven't gone through many lifecycles yet, and I started easy with the spray, not soaking them down thoroughly. This last treatment was more thorough so I'll wait for a reaction from that, and I still haven't drenched. There's a jug of concentrate coming and when it gets here I'm gonna wave it around in the bloom room while explaining exactly what's gonna happen to any freeloaders who don't mosey along soon. We'll see how much they like to party with spinosad all over everything. Hmph!

Everything is trucking right along, looks great in there! I can say I am now part of the Dr. Grinspoon club  I tried my tester and damn is that a nice strain, It kinda feels like a workout when it's over, what a ride though! This beast will live in my garden for a long time. Now I want to pheno hunt. I have a panama going in veg so I'm glad to hear it is comparable. It is going to be tough to top the Dr. though.

DrG has Panama Red in it so you get that sensory/sensual high mixed in with the Mex/Thai. :thumb: Fun stuff!

Every single plant you grow is a stunner. I always enjoy your update posts. Though I am a little bummed that the spinosad isn't killing those lil suckers. I do know it's supposed to affect the larvae more than the adults. Is it possible it's just the delay of still seeing the adults that were already alive?

Thank you for being someone who sees past the horde of insects! There's actually some good looking stuff under all that. Yeah, I'm hoping for reduced reproductivity. I'm expecting it actually. Sheesh, if not, I'll have to gas 'em and stink up the house with filtered freshly burned sulfur fumes. I'm getting real tired of 'em. I grow nicer stuff than this. Bah.

:thedoubletake: And I thought my last carnival was frosty

I also recognize that clones often look better and get more resign.

And I saw some trips some weeks ago and gave them spinosad very heavy no trips but that 10 little fly I got and kill every day are still there.
Last time I got rid with some sand on top but I don't like the mess.

I'm not so sure clones are better, at least not in my experience. I think they often turn out better because we already have a sense of how they're going to grow and what they need. And also keep in mind that we often choose the best cut from a group.

This insect issue highlights three things:

1. HB plants can survive severe insect pressure.

2. Kill off insects quickly and surely, or they can fairly easily adapt to your methods.

3. It would be a lot easier in a sealed environment.

How's Gray today.... just cruising thru brotha. Have a great afternoon Gray, cheers.

:bongrip: Day off, hangin' out, wakin' n' bakin' ... :cheesygrinsmiley:

Did you get a blast of that cold, or was it only the poor souls south of you? Sheesh, that was a nasty one! It came through here kinda mild.

I'm trying to decide whether to trim up Grin1 or take a nap ...

Of course, I'll be firing up the pipe first, so ... :hmmm: ... *shrug* (how come there's no shrug emoji?)

An old guy on his day off should be entitled to go do any of those things, right? Wouldn't an age card be cool? Past 55 you can grow and smoke as much as you like? I mean seriously, how much trouble is an old guy gonna cause? Let us go home and get quietly stoned.

:passitleft:

Can't believe its another awesome Update Monday..well..today its not, but yesterday was.. :)
Great job, as per usual..

:thumb:

:thanks: The weeks go by too fast! I have to trim up several ounces over the next couple weeks, too! I like to smoke it more than I like to trim it.

:Namaste:

I'll come help trim old man. :laughtwo: Ahhh.... What a nice series of good laughs. You should take more days off. LOL! Yes, you should be able to do whatever your heart desires and yes, it's sweet to finally smoke anytime you want. Where do we start a petition for this innovative way to open up the job market? :laughtwo:

Enjoy the rest of your day off. Let me try to be responsible here and exercise. That nap idea sounded good too. Let's see what wins out. :battingeyelashes:

... I trimmed - still got that annoying 20th Century ethic ... and it was worth it - Grin1 finished all chunky and dense.

Trim today, nap tomorrow! :slide:

Way to go Graytail. :high-five:

And I exercised. How damned responsible of us. :laughtwo:

Now I'll take myself out to dinner, but eat responsibly. Not too responsibly, mind you. :battingeyelashes:

:passitleft:

hmmmm:hmmmm: Old guys (over 55) I have seen in the last few years in no particular order :rollit:

Howard Zinn

Keith Stroup

Willie Nelson

Elie Wiesel

Bernie Sanders

:rollit:

How much trouble is an old guy going to cause?
hmmmm :hmmmm:

hmmmm :hmmmm:

Well, they're not ... well ... I doubt that um ... Elie ... is a smoker ... :hmmmm:

Maybe you have a point.

Gray, I'm hoping you have luck with the flies.

Maybe you could quarantine the girls in a tent, in another part of the house, and bomb that area into a fly graveyard. You could play Ride of the Valkyries and make pretend helicopter noises.

Oh wait, have you tried a zapper? :scratchinghead:

 A zapper! Oh man, that'd be a sight to watch (gotta run the music, too) - that sucker'd be apopping and cracklin' ... with tendrils of gray smoke getting blown around the room by the fans ...

"I love the smell of freshly burnt wings in the morning." Ahhhhh.

Flypaper???

You have some seriously sexy ladies in here as usual GT :high-five: Did you create that Rio cross or is it bought?

And then there's this...

Shu-shu-shugga! :slide:

(Maybe the whiteflies are driving them crazy?)

:hmmm:

Rio was an accident. One of my Utopia Hazes hermied early and I ended up getting a few seeds from a Carnival that was in bloom. I grew out that seed and two successive clones and they all grew nanners a couple weeks before harvest. I may get one more chance for an S1 if I can time the next clone right.

This last Tikal clone turned out great! It has noticably more punch than the others and stronger aroma, too. This is the one that I let run forever. There are little half-inch foxtails all over every bud so I just snap one off and stuff it in the pipe - nice and tidy. But the thing is, I don't really love the strain. Like you said, it's a heavy buzz - kinda foggy for me.

I perceive that you and I seek the same clear and soaring buzz. Let me break out that Carnival and my mini bong. :laughtwo:

Well she certainly is sexy!
The Tikal buzz certainly not what I expect out of a Sativa but since I am currently out of all my non high CBD indicas I ain't complaining:passitleft:

It's update Monday! Picture-takin' day! :partyboy:

I've been debating whether to chop Taskenti or Grieg1 first and after taking a good look at both of them I decided that it'd be Taskenti. She's been very well behaved since I found the first nanners on the lowest buds. I just plucked those off and let her continue. Fortunately, she quit, and turned her attention to what she was supposed to be doing, namely grow more trichs. Cannabiogen says it's a 8-9 week strain, but this one's going to get the chop at 12 weeks, and there's only a trace of amber. :hmmmm: I haven't tried a tester, so it'll be a few days until I know what's the smoke is like.

Grieg1 looks simply scrumptious - frosty, frosty! The first one had one of the most powerful buzzes I've had recently, and this one looks better. Should be interesting. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Freddy's is starting to get exciting. :cheesygrinsmiley: She's 6 weeks into bloom and still looks pretty darned good - I was startled today by how thick the foliage still is after all this time - I even had to get into the middle and thin it out a bit. And she's exuding an extraordinary aroma after the Cat drenches - some very sweet orangey something. :yahoo: That's a surprise!

CarnA1 has finished her stretch and is working on building her buds. So far I'm quite pleased with this one. I lost the cuts, but I have another 3 seeds and I'll probably start another one or two. I like the buzz from this taller pheno better - it's speedier than the CarnB pheno.

Oh thank you Graytail. :hugs:  Such a pleasurable Monday night expectation. *sigh of contentment*

I knew Freddy's Best was special. She's going to give you that elusive "orangey". :yahoo: They all look so good, it was one of those "Oh God" strolls. :laughtwo: Man, you live too far away!!! All that harvesting. Surely you could use an apprentice. :battingeyelashes:

Ok, enough fun. Let's see if I can get that Callanetics session started now. It's only midnight. LOL! Thanks again Graytail. :ciao:

It's always fun to stop by for the Monday show and tell. I'm lovin' that YG #1!

Perpetual harvest has its perks, doesn't it?
