Graytail Goes LED - 810W Intelligent-Gro II w/ High Brix

Wow Graytail!!! Those nugs look delicious!! I am happy to hear that the Igro's worked well for you too! I definitely agree the spectrum really put some good flavors in my nugs and lots of trichomes :) amazing journal and harvest!! Congrats!!!

Thanks, Ice! There's no doubt that the 540 watt Intelligent-Gro performs as well as a 600 watt hps, which was what I was after. :cheesygrinsmiley: And I think part of what makes this panel so efficient is the 10 band spectrum. It produces more light in the specific wavelengths that the plant needs more of, and doesn't waste power on those it already has enough of. I'm still amazed at how cool it runs. And I've been using the programmable controller, so I save a ton of power, too. :slide:

Much congrats on your tastey looking nugs Gray. Very nice job,indeed....they look very potent! Cheers eh!:thumb:

I've been smoking Carnival as my main smoke for months now with very little tolerance buildup, and these last buds are the most potent yet. I gotta find an innocent bystander and try it out on 'im, heheh. I bet it'd put a seasoned smoker away in just a few hits. :laughtwo: Wowza, does this carry a punch!!

nice man,are those carnival buds fluffy? they do look delicious. my carnival is in a holding pattern until space allows better placement in bloom room.

bravo on your buds.

I think they're actually a bit more compact than usual - typical of a LED grow, from what I've seen - less leaf, more trichs. :cheesygrinsmiley: I'm really excited to see how your Carnival performs for you!

Destroyer is getting me excited now, too. There's an aroma coming off her that I haven't run across before - strong tropical fruity - and the buds are shaping up very nicely. Meao Thai x Columbian/Mexican. I'd love to have a good fruity sativa! I missed the update this week, but I'll get it done soon. I have all my ingredients for a new cook, so I want to get that mixed up and started tomorrow.

It's coming back together. :thumb:

Well, it seems that you're growing your collection bigtime :) Hope that Destroyer will be some wild shit :Hookah:

60cal......54....just a baby!!LOL!:high-five:

If 54 is still a baby, than why do I have "ALL" of my thoughts on sticky notes?:lot-o-toke::cheesygrinsmiley:

Congratulations on your harvest Greytail.:adore:

I'm currently coveting your Nanda Devi - such a delicate pretty one, that was - nice to hear that her fruit is as delightful as she was! :high-five::Love:

great looking bud porn GT!!!!

congrats on another harvest!! enjoy the fruits of your fine labor my friend!!!:bravo:

She sure looks the part, glad to hear she smokes the same too!!!!!!:volcano-smiley:

when does the new kit come??

"To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells with a sweet kernel; to set budding more"

And yes, I am oft seen amid my store. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Even at this fuzzy-minded age, it rang of Keats - kinda proud of myself. Thanks for sparking some old musty synapses!

Let me cover those musty ol' synapses with a good coating of poetic guano we'll get 'em goin' again :)

There once was a PotChimp with pot
who steadily smoked quite a lot
He rolled and he toked
and he smoked 'til he choked
until all that pot he had not.....

give me some time I'm working on "There once was a chimp with no weed"

... and he found that he really did need
to catch a good buzz
every day just because
if he doesn't he tends to get teed ...

off.

:laughtwo:

I finally got some pics, so I can post an update ... what good is an update without pics? :cheesygrinsmiley:

This week I took care of a couple necessary things. My bloom room was getting cold and I didn't want to run a heater and the Intelligent-Gro panel on the same circuit, so I wired another 15 amp circuit and got the heater fired up, so daytime temps are back in the low 80s, up from the mid 70s. That should give growth a good boost. :cheesygrinsmiley: And I rearranged the veg room and added another CFL rig along with some up-potting. I gotta pull the trigger on some LEDs for the veg room soon. Meanwhile I have 621 watts of CFL and 250 watts of MH to cover 12 sqft. That should be enough light ... I hope. The new soil is amended and cooking in its bins. In a few more weeks, everything should be back in line. :blunt:

This is going to be the last week of Utopia Haze's life. She quit growing new calyxes and she's starting to brown up. LOL, what an ugly mess this one is! But the test buds have been impressively potent with a nice clear sativa high, and under a loupe they're nice and sparkly. :cheesygrinsmiley: I'm waiting until after the harvest to check it out in earnest.

Destroyer continues to do well. I like how the colas have filled out, and the trichs are looking quite promising. :yahoo: I'm excited about this strain! - three weeks to go ...

GF3 is looking "ok". For a plant 17 days from pistil-set it should be showing better trich production and the leaves are pretty dull, but there's still plenty of time and temps are higher, so ... we'll see.

Buddha Haze is tiny but I really like its structure. The cuts I took didn't do well and I'm struggling to keep the last one alive, darn it. I'd really like to grow a big one.

Carn6 is doing what Carnival does - grow well under any conditions. :cheesygrinsmiley: This one will hardly yield anything, but it'll be fun to watch. What a great strain!

Blue Blood is still coming along slowly. I hope the added light helps. I want to get this one into bloom soon, but she has to produce some cuts for me first. C'mon, girl ...

I didn't get brix readings yesterday, but maybe I'll get it done today or tomorrow. I've pretty much given up on this soil, so I don't expect they'll be particularly good.

But in just a few weeks, things will start looking up! :thumb:

What up GT!! hope you had a great weekend!

that Utopia Haze looks like hair blown back in the wind :cheesygrinsmiley: awesome plant great job getting her where she is!:cheertwo:

great to hear you have new soil on the cook im happy for you but im sure you are WAY happier:cheesygrinsmiley:!! im going to have to get a new kit and bale of mix soon myself. right now I have 100gal of used 1st run getting a recook for 2 more weeks and I need it NOW lol..hard thing waiting on the cook sometimes you know??

have a great day brotheren!

What good is an update without pictures, indeed? And what cracking pictures.
:thanks: Graytail
You spoke of getting temperatures in the bloom area into the low 80's. I'm setting up my first indoor grow and, although I've done the research, I'd love to know what temps you recommend for vegging and flowering. Thanks everso.

Several months ago I looked into it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

More heat produces more growth until you get to the mid-80s. At those temps, transpiration becomes excessive and the plant will suffer unless CO2 is enhanced. The second parameter is the temp range, which should stay under 20 degrees.

So, mid 60s to low 80s is best, ~18 to 29 Celsius.

:thanks: Graytail. What a great answer - I hadn't considered the temperature range. I love this place, the people and their knowledge. I shall follow you to the letter. :green_heart: :cheertwo::thanks:

Nice growing again, Grey :bong:
This Destroyer sure looks delicious as it seems to be good calyx to leaf pheno. Reviews of this stuff are excellent, so I hope you're gonna get more top shelf smoke :bong:

I was just thinking about how we both appreciate the variety in different strains and phenos, and explore them ourselves and LOL, I got to wondering how many strains you have onhand. Some of us must have quite a few, even if we don't mention it very often. For instance, I currently have ...

Northern Lights
Super Lemon Haze
Jamaican Dream
Kerala x Skunk#1
Hawaiian Snow
White Panther
Wild Thailand
Panama
Utopia Haze
Tangerine Dream
Carnival
Cotton Candy
Cotton CandyxCarnival
Grapefruit
Green Love Potion
White Widow x Skunk #1

Is that a lot? :laughtwo:

That sounds yummy is it like orange haze? How is it?

Unfortunately, I got a bum pheno. It leaned heavily towards Neville's Haze, all fluffy and hazey, so it got to be a PIA to finish. When it did, there was no fascinating tangerine terpene, just a rather pure sandalwood, and the strain isn't noted for potency and mine wasn't a standout, so all-in-all ... meh.

I should crack the jar and see if it's changed much in the past months. :cheesygrinsmiley:
