Graytail Goes LED - 810W Intelligent-Gro II w/ High Brix

I have Orange Hill Special on my list. :cheesygrinsmiley: It's not a sativa but after the disappointment with Tangerine Dream (the band had to be first, heheh - that was longer ago than you think) and the raving success with Grapefruit, I went exploring the oranges and OHS looks like the orangiest of 'em all. An orange Skunk#1 x California Orange IBL. :cheesygrinsmiley: If that doesn't produce orange, I'll give up.

But other people have had success with their Tangerine Dreams. In the end though, it's not particularly strong or great, compared to so many other sativas, and many of the phenos are finicky. If you search for grows, you don't find many people who were happy about theirs.

Yeah, well, it's almost 3 AM and I got a nice buzz on :tokin: and I'm philosophizing after looking over the list of the strains I've grown and smoked over the past year and more ...

I got to White Panther on the list and remember what a great strain it is and how I didn't really care for it. Odd. It was a nice buzz with a good thump to it, kind of an old-school, straight-ahead marijuana buzz. A truly great commercial strain. But ...

That's why I didn't care for it. I didn't dislike it, I just didn't like it. It was kinda like a Chevy to me - a nice Chevy, a Malibu, but ... a Chevy. If I was selling 'em, I'd want to sell Chevy Malibus not Maseratis. But I'm not selling 'em. I'm the driver. I want to drive 'em.

So if I can grow a Maserati, that's what I want to do, heheh! Like driving cars. I'm interested in driving interesting cars and smoking interesting weed. :cheesygrinsmiley:

... I "learned" years ago not to post when I'm loaded at 3 AM ... ah well ...

You're totally right, Grey :) Which reminds me of Hunter S. Thompson's book, where he wrote that "once you get into serious drug collection..." Well, collecting weed is a serious addiction I'd say :bong: :) Some of us could probably open a mini dispensary without too much trouble. What I have on my hands now is:

Green Crack
Cotton Candy (both July and October harvested)
Strawberry Blue
Super Lemon Haze
Pakistan Chitral Kush
Trainwreck
Orient Express
Nanda Devi
Malawi Gold
Aurora Ultra
O.G. Kush
Dry sift hash x 4
Hand rubbed hash
Bubble hash

:Hookah:

I also grew Tangerine Dream and I have to say that my haze pheno, although great anti-mold plant, was harvested by the end of October, so didn't have really reasonable flowering time, and sativa rush was dominated by indica stone quite quickly after you smoked it, so poorly bred plant I have to say if you take it all into consideration

I cracked the Tangerine Dream jar and ... nope, same sandalwood aroma with maybe a slight nose of citrus. I didn't smoke any, but I doubt the high has changed anyway. Mine was a nice bright buzz, just not very strong.

I also took some brix readings. :cheesygrinsmiley: I was curious about Utopia Haze, so I took a lower bud and got a 17 ... ! Hmm. So I took the tip of a higher one and got a 12. 12 seems more reasonable, but the 17 is encouraging. :cheesygrinsmiley: Got similar results from Destroyer. It's yellowing fast and there aren't any good 5-blade fans, so I plucked a couple of healthy 3 blades and got 15. I followed that with a lower bud which read 13. I'm kinda impressed. These plants really don't look very healthy.

And the unfamiliar aroma I'm getting from Destroyer might be blueberry, of all things. Where would that come from? It sure is enticing!

Hey Gray....it's funny you mention flavour changes like that. Since doing this MK Ultra 3 times now ,i've noticed about 4 or 5 different kind of dominant flavors. Know what i mean bro? Saw bubblehash on your list there....my fav .Bin making it ever since "Bubbleman's"bags came out about 10 yrs. or so. Anyhow , nice to see you on track bro! Cheers eh!

Ah yeah, bubble hash :) Mine is sativa dominant, has been processes from all I had but mostly Cotton Candy and Trainwreck trim. One toke and I almost lost myself in my own home :) Heavy on the lungz and very potent, it scrambles your brain after 5 minutes :bong:

Hey Conradino....I only mix mine for about 5 min's. tops and only use popcorn buds now instead of leaf and crap.....that way all the bubble I make with my bags and bubblenow machine comes out full melt!! And ya eh....know what you mean about one hit....love it bro! Cheers, and have a great day eh!

I didn't give it a long mix either, but after my first unsuccessful take I decided to froze the trim first, which was quality mix of budz and sugar leafs all very well coated in trichs. I yielded about a gram from 3-4 oz of trim, but I only did one pull. The rest is still sitting in the freezer as there was a lot of resin to play with next time when I feel like it. I have to say that tastewise and for the simplicity of it I prefer dry sift, but the potency of bubble was crazy I have to admit and I didn't really expect it :)

Hey Conradino.... Ya ...the bubble is hard to beat for potency. I'm between 150 and 200 runs thru my bags now and have found that the most important factor along with raw material is to keep the mix time really short, cuz after that all you get by beating it up more is the smaller immature and underdeveloped gland heads. It's kind of neat and I learned a lot about this from Mark (bubbleman).Glad to see someone else shares my love for it though....cool!Have a great day Conradino!:high-five:

Hey hey! ... a licensed electrician AND a bubble hash expert! 150-200 runs!

I have over a year's worth of trim in the freezer, from 30+ plants. :laughtwo: I did a dry ice run last fall and found it to be an unrewarding PIA. The sifting was kinda cool, but the bag clogged up quickly from frost, and I still had to scrape off the inside of the bag and the container it was in. So, it was a few minutes of watching trichs float down in a fog, and then a long frustrating process of trying to get the rest of them, and cleaning things up. I had another set of bags, so I could do 2 runs, but still ...

My current plan is to wait until the weather gets good and cold and dry, and then go out to the garage and spend an afternoon sifting. No temp contrast, no humidity, should be able to sift without any clogging. :slide:

But bubble interests me too. I don't much like the mess of solvents, but water isn't a big hassle. 150-200 runs? Wow. So, I'm thinking "here's an expert". :cheesygrinsmiley: And you know I love getting free expert advice ... :laughtwo: So, if you would be so inclined, I would love a primer. I'll do my own research, but it's always nice to get directions first. I have two sets of one gallon bags and a nice tall one gallon stainless pot. I've read about the tabletop washing machines - do they work?

I also love PotChimp's motorized kief tumbler. :cheesygrinsmiley: With all that trim, I'm not looking forward to a lot of manual shaking 'n' stuff.

So ... icewater, agitate, strain, dry? How simple do you make it?

:Namaste:

Hey Gray....what's up bro? Sorry for jumping in on your space and talkin bubble. Ya 150 -200 now. 3 buddies and myself started off with a cheap 3 bag isolator set and the little washer(bubblelator). Bubbleman came out with his 5 gal. ,8 bag set ,so i dropped ,i think about 300 Us. on those and found they worked way better than the cheaper bags. But now i only use 5 ,not all 8.I don't need that many grades of it kicking around. I was at one time going to take them to Jamaica with me to run a few pounds thru but havn't figured out a way to get the bags back across the border after they were used .if ya know what i mean. The bubble would be no probs cuz of the lack of smell from it (no vegetable matter in it) and concealability. I just love the stuff. It's so clean and pure not using any solvents or shit. If you do it right ,it beats dry sift all the way.Only the "heads" are in good bubble....NOTHING else. When i look at my bubble under my little scope...it looks like a bubblebath full of bubbles. That's how i describe it to people...they look at me all wierd till they see for themselves.I need to often use two or three s.s. screens in my little glass, double ,bubbler in order to stop the bubble from completely dissapearing into the pipe,ya know. Some guys put a little ash on the screen so it kind of holds the resin there while it's melting and burning. After you smoke good bubble...you should see very ,very little ash left behind on the screen. All the ash is impurities in your hash, bits of veg. matter ,dirt etc. When i make it Gray ,i usually don't even get out my bags untill i know i've got at least three runs to do. Makes it worth while that way eh! Anyhow bubbleman has since come out with a cheaper "light" bag set that is very good as well .but not made quite as heavy duty as his original 8 bag set. He also sells the "bubblenow" machine that he called it .I bought mine with the original isolator bags and it was the exact machine but isolator called it the bubblelator. Get it....bubbleman (Mark) re names his machine the "bubblenow" instead of the "bubblelator" . Making this stuff without the right bags and that little machine is way too much fu...ing around for me. You can do it ,but it's not as easy ,or fun! With the machine....all you do is put your produce in a mesh bag that goes inside the machine with water and alot of ice and turn the timer for as long as you want to mix it for....i used to always go for 8-10 min's. but wasn't getting full melt hash that way. When i started to decrease mix times considerably the quality shot way up...but of course the yield went down. Doc. and the Bubbleman have alot in common as far as wanting not yield but quality. Sorry to ramble ,got to shower and get at my photo session w'my MK's. tonight. Was just too bagged last night to get at that. Stop by my J. later and see how there doing bro! Just freekishly big buds ,,lovin it! 4-5 weeks to go....wouldn't know it by lookin at em! Cheers Gray.:circle-of-love:

Great description, maybe I'm gonna invest in an equipment like that if it helps such a lot! Yeah bubble is a thing, although if I was to choose from bubble, dry, and hand rubbed, I'd stick with the last one. That resin coming off your finger is the closest to pure nectar for me and with good organic budz it's just a heaven. Also potency is better than in dry sift, although not that strong as with bubble. I still didn't go through everything I rubbed this season :bong:

Gray, how are you standing on this? :bong: :)

Well, it sounds like the fun part of making bubble hash is owning a bubbleator and a set of bags. :laughtwo: But I'm not gonna drop $400+, so ...

Back to contingency plan #1 - wait until it gets f'n cold out and do it in the garage.

I have no other experience with various hashes. I only did that one dry ice run and pressed it into pucks, and didn't think the entire hassle was really worth it. BSO intrigues me, but I think I'll try some other methods first. I do love the pics of the waxy pure stuff! Dabbing is something I eventually want to get into.

:bongrip:

I can't figure out how to get hash oil to that waxy consistency. Every time I do an extraction, it goes from a sticky syrup at first to a super sticky jolly rancher type substance after it dries. I have to reheat it, scrape it, and cool it again to get it to turn to shatter. But I can never get earwax like I see people dabbing with. The tumbler I have isn't really anything more than a motorized sifter; it has 140 and 110 micron screens.

You need to whip it, once it's still warm and in your final container where you boiled out the solvent take a paper clip and unfold it, use an edge and scrap over everything from top to bottom and side to side for about 10-15 after that it should start to stick to itself and form that wax look.

I would buy the bags only, bubblebags now have a sturdy cheap option(bubblebag lite) 160 for 8 5gal bags, then I would buy a drill attachment for mixing paint. Do the same thing the the machine does but cheaper.
