Grateful Bud's Backyard Outdoor Grow - SFV OG

I'd pull one off and break it open and see what's inside.

And are you counting days from pistils based on flower days from the breeder?
Hey Shed!

The branch is very sparse so not much to break open. Just looks funky to me. More brown than surrounding.
Breeder says 66 days but not sure how accurate that is for outdoor. Just going by look and feel I think another week or so.

I'm out of town next few days so they better wait at least until Thursday!

I doubt anything would be ready this early. Days are for 12/12 tents so I'd check to see if the breeder says "September" or "October" in their specs.

I go mostly by when they stop drinking along with a change in smell.

Enjoy the trip!
Yep I'm with ya. Last few grows went more than 10 weeks. Probably closer to 12 weeks. These girls went into flower a bit early.

A few days ago they looked scraggly. After 3 days of cooler weather they plumped right back up again. Odd.
Still seeing new white pistils on all. Tara looks a little foxtail-ish. New growth is long and skinny. Not gonna worry about it.

There are some fish up in the Sierra's that have challenged me to take their picture. I'll oblige, and let them go on about their day.

Gave the ladies a thorough Safer shower today. Washed off about 40 mins later.
Not looking too bad; seeing more damage from the thrips. A few weeks ago I thought they were mites but when I looked again under a scope they look like thrips.

Harem:

Sunny and Dawn have been in flower since July 4th = 69 days. I'm thinking another week.

Lori, Cindy, and Tara had for sure pistils on July 15th = 58 days. 2-3 more weeks maybe.

Cindy has always looked pale green. I've tried upping her nutes but she just likes being lime. Not looking too bad. Tara looks a little scraggly. I'm thinking the heat did that.

Lori looks the worse for the wear. She has always been scraggly. Poor thing. Today I noticed one branch has buds that are very scraggly and look kinda brownish. I'll keep and eye on that branch. May just chop it off if I think it's rot.

Man, you are set up for a YEAR!!!

Man, you are set up for a YEAR!!!
I sure hope so!

Last year I grew 3 plants. Totally screwed up one. The other two limped to the finish line. I got about 4oz from each plant.

I figured out I would need about 6oz per year to meet my needs. The rest I give away to friends in need.

6oz bought from a local legal dispensary would cost me about $1,800.
I've got about $500 in supplies for this grow.

Bummer SO!

Sun is coming out and humidity is dropping - now around 50%.
I was hoping the ladybugs would devour them but apparently there are too many or they taste funny. Either way all the ladies will get sprayed with a Safer shower today once they are in the shade.

Good luck!
I'm off to get a small tarp to cover the ground directly under them. today's the day! Glad it's behind you!

I think they will need considerably more time than 1 week. I'd say mid October possibly. Just my opinion based on the pics.

What kind of plant is Cindy? I've had OG Kush varieties look pale green for the entire grow, and so has @Heavenly Hybrid . It's just in their genetics.

Yes, as Shed already pointed out, ignore the breeder estimates unless they specify "outdoor", and then they will suggest the month such as early October, late October, etc. My outdoor plants usually begin flower around July 4th as well. They usually go mid to late October.

Ayup, not free, but good ROI.
I hope to get enough going eventually to 'provide' to some friends / associates as well, but not as generous as you're being. I'll undercut the dispensaries, and they'll avoid taxes, so good deal for them, and I'll get my electric paid. I'd be inclined to grow outdoors, too, but worried about getting them stolen..

Thanks Beez!

Cindy and Sunny are both OG.

I think you are right - another few weeks. Perilous times.

Perilous times indeed.
I returned from a few days up in the mountains and the plants look good - except for Dawn. She had 2 buds with what looks to me as caterpillar damage.

I wiped my trimmers with rubbing alcohol, then snipped off the top of the buds.

Did not see any caterpillars but I sprayed with bt anyway. Hoping no additional damage. These nuggets are thick and chunky. By far the best buds I’ve grown yet.

Man I hope I don’t screw this up at the end.

The damage doesn't look too bad, and good catch! I've been spraying mine with BT every 3 days and just soaked them with citric acid this morning. BT again tomorrow.

Here's to getting them clear to harvest! :high-five:
Thanks Shed!
The citric acid is primarily to kill mold - correct?

I've only tested it on PM but I'd like to see if it can prevent botrytis from spreading at least. I've noticed on mine that the rot is gone once I remove the flower that's brown and doesn't affect the ones above and below. H2O2 never worked for that on my plants.
Thanks!
I’ll continue spraying Safer every 3-4 days. I’ll spray bt 1x per week just in case. Stop a few days before harvest.

Mites. Check
Thrips. Check
Caterpillars. Check
Powder mold. Check

I pulled apart the top cola on Sunny and found a little bit of mold growing. I picked off what I could see and sprayed citric acid solution on her and Dawn. Those two have the fattest colas.

Wonderful. Just wonderful.
