Grateful Bud's Backyard Outdoor Grow - SFV OG

I have two other updates - First is Tara.
SFV strain in flower since July 15th.

Looking fairly good now - this is after I pulled off quite a few yellow dead leaves.

I've been leaving the netting on 24/7. Several ladybugs are still lurking on her - even after I inspected and removed dead leaves.

The second is Sunny. She is a Gorilla SFV OG.
She was first to really show flower - July 4th.
Looking good, however I may have a problem.

I'm seeing tiny black dots on her (and her sisters) leaves.
Could be worm poop - which I'd be surprised if they got thru the netting.
Or I could have a bunch of ladybugs shitting all over my plants.
Or ?

I'm a little concerned. Any thoughts?

@InTheShed @Carcass @Trala @Bill284 @Regrowth @HashGirl @StoneOtter

Please tell me it's not worm poop. Not seeing any bud damage or browning / drying flowers. Just black dots on ugly leaves. I did not spray citric spray on the SFV / OG girls.

Thanks!

In my experience, lady bugs won't leave evidence of feces.

Good looking grow... How'd you get so far into flower so early?? You bring them inside to simulate light deprivation??
Hi Myc!

Yeah several plants went early; the two JH plants went into flower in June, then back into veg, then back into flower end of July. Two other OG plants went into flower first week of July, the rest around July 15th. I think Sunny is in week 7 of flower. Her buds are looking GREAT!
The leaves concern me.

I'm growing outdoors on a cement patio. 7 gallon pots. They get full sun 7am to about 2pm, then are in shade rest of day. It gets HOT here! Was cooler today - only 89F. Next 8 days will be close to or over a hundred. Shit. Next Sunday shows 108F.

Have you searched for caterpillars?
Best time to search is early morning or late evening.. don't be scared to pry a few buds away from the main stalk on the cola... it will help search for caterpillar and give the bud more freedom... less susceptible to mold.

Yes I poked around quite a bit looking for caterpillars. Did not see any. Last time I got caterpillars first thing I noticed was dead / dying flowers.

I thought you were NorCal? Which is like a million miles away. LOL!
I've visited Trinity / Weaverville quite a bit over the years. Fishing and riding mtn bikes. I think that may be north of you?

And I didn't zoom on the pics nor did a read what you said well enough... I assumed they were droplets not spots. Let me get back to you later on this..

I appreciate you advice my friend!
Looking at your grow and man you have it DOWN! I struggle with the bugs. Trying not to spray in late flower, but Safer™ may be in my future. Sorry ladybugs.

It rubs off right?
Actually no.
And you got me thinking. Somewhere in the last week or so I (barely) remember reading a post about black spots on leaves may be a magnesium deficiency. Hmmm. Let me see if I can find that thread.

Well, I was thinking maybe something fungal if it doesn't rub off.
If it were a mag issue you'd probably have browning going on first.
And you seem to have these black spots even on healthy leaves.
I don't want to have you worrying for nothing. Someone will know.

Thanks for the tag,GB!
Thrip poop will leave black dots on the leaves, but, you'll usually see thrips if that's the case...
This is from Google:
Black, varnish-like specks of excrement are a distinguishing feature of thrips activity. Feces may remain on leaves or fruit long after thrips have left. Thrips are poor fliers; damage may first appear in one location then slowly spread over the plant.

If it is thrip poop, I hope they were just passing through...
