Grateful Bud's Backyard Outdoor Grow - SFV OG

Yesterday I made some inappropriate comments, and I would like to publicly apologize to my harem girls. I implied that they have an unpleasant aroma, and smelled like "bitter artichoke ass". This is simply not true. Today I gave each of them a nice bath with soap (Safer™) and water (hose) and I must say they smell absolutely wonderful!

Not unlike a freshly opened pack of Juicy Fruit gum. Not skunky at all. Weird. Last year I grew a strain called L.A. Pop Rocks and it had a similar aroma.

Fresh out of the shower:

Looks good Grateful I like that you call them a harem haha

Shed - here is one of the JH plants (Julie) that went into flower, then back to veg, then around end of July back to flower.

As you can see she is . . . . fluffy. Same as her sister. Lots of single leaves that turn brown and die but hide in the center of colas. Prime breeding ground for mold. I trimmed off a LOT of larfy material a few weeks ago hoping that would spur traditional bud growth. So far not much bud growth on tips.

Her broken branch has healed nicely - keeping that supported still.

I ordered some citric acid. Should be here in a few days.

Wha that’s so cool I know it isn’t optimal but still she looks bad ass I hope it turns out well my friend

Other than a major trimming job I'm not sure what you'll get in the end with all those leaves. It looks like it never had a chance to push out even three-bladed leaves before it went into full flower with the sun. But who knows what's going to be hiding under there come early October!

Yeah I may go to town and trim everything but the last inch or two on each cola.
Better than nothing.

Hey TC!
Hope all is well!
I should read up on Grandpa Tokin's rosin info. I may be able to squeeze some THC out of these two plants!

Hey Scoobs, I was thinking. Do you ever see ants on your plants?
Yes. Not many but a few. Really tiny carpenter ants. I've sprayed the trail where they are coming from but they still show up. Not sure if they are farming mites or just searching for water.

No wonder it doesn't look like any Jher I've ever seen.
Should be interesting though.
Hope everything is going well today. :ciao:

The guy at the regular plant nursery told me spider mites often come in on the backs of ants. They ride they like fucking horses! Lol

Since I’ve implemented a moat like structure to sit my drip trays in, I have had zero ants. This might be a coincidence but my last warm weather grow I had much less mite trouble compared to my previous infested grows.

Sounds like a great idea!

I do have some mite damage but I think I have them pretty much all gone. I'm thinking of buying a bunch of ladybugs and putting them under the netting - they cannot escape unless I leave the netting off. Even then lots of them will hang around. I did that last year and it worked well.

Hello, I saw you on stoneotters page and decided to drop by. I like the screens! I did similar before I built my little greenhouses. I still get thrips sometimes but no bud worms. I'm in a high desert environment where the early spring let me flower a Cheese outdoors that i had started indoors way before in May.
I have a Grape Ape that revegged (kinda) and looks like Julie.

I had a do si dos that did that a couple years ago. Big larfy buds that trimmed down to some decent herbs.
Stay stoneder!

Hiya Fred!
Thanks for dropping by!

Yes that plant looks very much like mine. Today I was very close to just trimming each cola and leaving about 2 inches on the tips. I'm thinking radical lollipopping to focus all the energy on new bud growth. I have two that are like this and they are about 3 weeks into flower.

I may only trim one to compare.

What's eating Gilbert's Grape?

What do you think - another week?
LOL! :laughtwo::laughtwo::laughtwo:

I'm not sure - maybe 3 more weeks?

Dawn SFV OG Bud. She has been in flower since 4th of July = 48 days.

Yesterday and today temps were much lower - around 90F. Kinda foggy and chilly this morning. Next few days will be warmer.

Thank Bill!
That’s probably the best bud picture I’ve ever posted.
3 plants are getting chunky buds. The others are a few weeks behind but catching up.

I was tempted to defoliate the heck out of at least one Jack Herer, but those two are also chunking up. Both of those little plants are just ALL buds! I’ll spray them with Shed’s magic citric solution to ward off mold and see how they turn out. I’ve been picking off dead leaves (I know you dislike that!) but I gotta do it because they are so dense the dead leaves will encourage mold growth.

Have an awesome day!
