Grateful Bud's Backyard Outdoor Grow - SFV OG

Sorry sir but I only have one king…..THE BURGER KING
The Donut King will RUIN The Burger King when the time comes.

There will be lots of fatalities!!! Tho most of them will be obese Type 2 Diabetes sufferers from eating all those burgers and donuts….

Kinda hard to see but I place 12 or 16 gauge (I used both) wires strategically to keep the netting off the flowers. I think 14 gauge would be ideal. You want it easily cuttable, bendable, and rust proof (galvanized). The frost leaves also do a great job of keeping the netting off the pistils.

No sign of bugs or caterpillars. Knock wood.

I gotta say - these ladies smell like bitter artichoke ass. Until you rustle around the plant a bit and then she gives off a wonderful fruity aroma. Not very skunky. But the first sniff smells bad. Hoping that improves over the next few weeks.

Thanks Bill!

I have a unique grow style due to my outdoor hot as hell situation. I used nets last year and got a good result. This year (so far) is looking WAY better.

Tomato cage with netting may not be for everyone, but for me it seems to be working.

Thanks Bill!

I hear that's the best way to grow.
What works for you. :thumb:
I love the ingenuity.
You should do a couple pictorials start to finish.
I bet there are a lot of members who would benefit from your technique. ;)
Terrific. :yahoo:
Have a good evening.

I may do that once it is all done!

3 of the OG girls - Sunny, Tara, and Dawn - have been flowering since July 4th. - 43 days. The last OG that I grew went 11 weeks. So I'm thinking 3-4 more weeks puts harvest around 9/15/22.

Breeder says 56-66 days. I'm thinking 70.

Breeder flower days are for folks who flip. They should also mention when in fall they expect harvest, for example "late September."
Hey Shed!

Yeah it's a crapshoot outdoors especially in this heat. But the colas on 3 of the plants look REALLY good! Like 3 weeks away good, but will see.

How goes it?

I'm diggin' CaliGreen's latest video:

My clones last year came from Green Dragon.

Yesterday I made some inappropriate comments, and I would like to publicly apologize to my harem girls. I implied that they have an unpleasant aroma, and smelled like "bitter artichoke ass". This is simply not true. Today I gave each of them a nice bath with soap (Safer™) and water (hose) and I must say they smell absolutely wonderful!

Not unlike a freshly opened pack of Juicy Fruit gum. Not skunky at all. Weird. Last year I grew a strain called L.A. Pop Rocks and it had a similar aroma.

Fresh out of the shower:

I'm sure they understand. ;)

Hi Bill!

There a few issues but I'm not gonna worry about it.
Lori has scraggly clawing leaves and skimpy flowers (so far).
The two Jack Herer (Julie and Janice) are all thick larfy frost leaves ripe for mold. I'm tempted to trim the crap out of them and leave just the top inch or two of flower. Pop Rocks last year did the same thing and I ended up tossing quite a bit.

I'm going to suggest you try an experiment with citric acid spray rather than prophylactic cutting.

Mix up a 1% batch and soak the flowers in it, even pulling the buds apart to spray inside. Do that every 4 or 5 days and see it they make it to harvest unscathed.

Very cheap and worth a shot.
Thanks Shed!
I'll give that a try!

In case you haven't got the recipe handy:

Here is my recipe for the 1% spray I use (scale up as necessary...I now mix a gallon at time!):
5g citric acid
500ml distilled water
10 pipette drops dish soap

(For the record, 10 pipette drops of dish soap works out to a little less than 1ml in 1500ml of water, or .3ml per 500ml. I have since switched to yucca powder which is a little less than ¼ tsp/gallon.)

Mix well and spray, and make sure you get the whole plant as PM can hide between the buds and the branch.
I spray first thing in the morning before the sun is blazing.

Thanks man!
The two Jacks are sticky as hell, and they smell wonderful. But the whole plant is all larfy frost leaves and minimal bud material.

Your pool side beauties look like a Green Victoria Secret catalog.

As a fellow pool side grower I know the work and time it takes to keep the cootee’s under control so good job Scoobs.
Thanks Tra!
This "hobby" is very time-consuming for sure.
