Grape Ape & Golden Tiger Hit the Shower - DBHBB & 600W HPS - Winter 2016

Ya Major....you makin a salad?:rofl::tokin:
Looks like you got it all nicely figured out....again! Have to comment on those deeply serrated leaves on the GT+. I was thinkin , they would be a great indicator for def'c's. and overall general health. Take a good look at the posture of those serations and keep an eye on those. Any Mg. shortage will show up on them first. See what ya mean about finding room for another hood. Be nice to add another lite to get the needed warmth + . What you could do is add two smaller HPS units...like 100's. Or even a 250W. I have two of them ....they were old "wall packs" from buildings at work. I just use the ballasts and guts...add a new bulb and bingo...heat and light...but not too much of either. If shipping wasn't so much friggen loot...i'de just send ya my two.Just a thought for ya pal. Cheers eh !

Thanks Sue! Glad you found us. I'm honored you decided to follow. I know how difficult it can be to add yet another subscription to an ever-growing list. :Namaste:

I probably should be. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I knew going in the two strains are nearly at opposite ends of the spectrum, but I like the variety. I think I will squeak by time-wise. Once the GASS are chopped, it will open up the Tigers to more room and light for their big finish.

I've been thinking about my next grow. I abandoned trying to get a third grow finished before the summer girls arrive. I need to pick strains I want and see if I am working from seeds or clones. The timeline will be something like this:
Transplant to outdoors around June 1st.
I'd like a fair amount of veg time in 7 gallon pots so I will try to start seeds in February sometime or clones around the beginning of March.
The GT+ should finish by mid-April.
That means I'll keep the new seedling/clones under the T5's for maybe 6-8 weeks.
That works...barely! :high-five:

It's a little weird to plan for a grow that may not end until next October - November. I want four plants. At least one strain will be an "Early Girl" to hedge my bets against bad weather. I'll do one late bloomer - something Hazy. The others are TBD.

I like how you have it planned out. That is something that I need to figure out before to long.... this will be my first summer coming up so I have to start learning all over again for the outdoors part ;)

Major, I found Panama(+) goes from seed to jar pretty quickly..
-it thrives in the soil

GT(+) will come around with the drench.. they are usually late to the respond party by a few days. they do catch up and theyre awesome!! :)

Thanks much Zig!

They do look better this morning. I'm used to seeing plants bounce back from the dry cycle a few hours after they drink. These took nearly two days. Now they are growing like ... Sativas.

My plan is to top them once more, but I want to flip soon - I think. Any feedback on either part of this plan?

Hey pal....i guess ya know what i'de say to that....let them grow, ...but your not too concerned with yield as much as timing...so, bloom the suckers now! Or you could top them and give them at least a week to 10 days , then flip. Have an awesome day Major!

major, Im in perpetual bloom :) .. I dont flip.. everything starts in 10.5/13.5 or 10/14 and ends same.
can you top and flip?

That's my plan ... so far. They need to grow a little more B4 I can top them again. TY!

This morning I moved all the kids out to take their shower. They are still under 18/6 and will stay that way for at least one more week - possibly two.

By moving my HPS hood over a little, I was just able to squeeze the two LED panels in. No more heater needed and MoPar! I'm able to get the temp's up to 80 now just with the lights even though the garage temp is in the 30's. I dialed down my thermostat to hold at 78. The new LED panels put the shower slightly under 100 watts per square foot: 600W HPS + 2x135W LED. Ideally, I'd like the LEDs on either side of the HPS, but there's just no way.

I'll move the lights closer once the kids get used to the stronger light.

Looking sweet up in here brother :) they will love all that light :) great job getting your temps up too :high-five::passitleft:
Looking good the shower will feel nice for them.:thumb:
Hey Major PITA! I'm gonna just set here in the corner and hit on my old school corn cob and watch the fun! Hoping that you don't mind! Best of luck in all you grow!
Thank you kindly, good sirs! Nothing like a warm shower on a cold winter day. :icon_roll
Welcome aboard, uth2! :ciao: All are welcome here. The real show is still a few weeks away. :smokin2:

I love it major. Those two MH 130 watt LEDs are going to boost your grow in a wonderful way. Excited and hope the thorough cleaning will get rid of those stupid mites! Sending them a psychic message to GTFO lol.

Thanks ShiggityFlip! I hope they get the message. :thumb:

Got a light snow falling here too. I currently don't need any more snow 16" in my front yard, we could use a bit of a thaw. The ski resort here has been hit with over a 150 inches just this month, snorkel is required equipment up there. Happy New Year Major.
