Grandpa's Second Try - Come Join Us!

I want to show y'all the awsome Mardi Gras beads that T sent with the hempy. 3 guesses who the photographer is... :winking-face:
MG_Beads.jpg

Ya know... Tead never considered the lack of impact of Mardi Gras beads for the sightless.
Lessons man... they're around every corner ain't they?
I'll try to engage my brain better when selecting treats from afar.... food based goodies would have been much more appreciated in this situation.

Blue Kush - Dinafem

Here you go Grandpa...Sativa dominant will be uplifting and cerebral, all the right terpenes. Now it says this strain would be good in scrog etc, that tells me that she likes to grow tall, as most sativa's do. You might have to flip her to flower earlier than an Indica dominant, to control the height of this beauty. I wonder if her height might be a problem for you since you're not really doing any low stress training.

PW, what do you think?

Do you think the sativa might escape and run amok, or will it behave for Grandpa?
Do you think an indica dominant might be easier to manage this time instead, keeping it short and bushy for this grow type with new soilless mediums?

Sorry about all the questions, I'm trying to see if there are avoidable roadblocks. :)

"Blue Kush cannabis seeds by Dinafem Seeds belong to a feminized, Sativa-dominant cannabis strain obtained by crossing a Blueberry and an OG Kush, which has resulted in a hybrid that boasts a superb flavour and aroma.

Blue Kush is a real treat for the senses. It grows into an outstanding, fast-flowering, easy-to-grow, hardy marijuana plant that produces big, compact buds covered in resin regardless of the experience of the grower.

Elegant and medium-sized, Blue Kush cannabis seed grows well indoors, especially in hydroponics, SCROG and SOG. Outdoors it responds best to temperate/continental climates and to the cosy environment of a greenhouse. With complex and attractive organoleptic properties, it is aimed at cannabis gourmets but is also suitable for those seeking a plant with therapeutic properties.

The flavour and aroma of Blue Kush are pronounced, with fresh hints of lemon, pine and red berries. The effect is powerful, long-lasting and rather cerebral. It is the perfect cannabis strain to have a good time with friends."

I have grown the Blue Kush from Dinafem. Nice relaxing smoke, its got some potency to her. Definitely not a very big plant....in fact probably the smallest of the bunch that I grew...both in the mom and in the clones of all the strains. Easy to manage it. Only issues I had with it was lower yielding (both seed and clone) and the seed had really high leaf to bud ratio. Now oddly, that ratio was reduced when I grew the clone out........the clone grew much better. I recommend it for the smoke....but I hope your yield is better than the one I got. Not to mention, I didn't get any Blueberry scent in my pheno....was definitely a stronger leaner to the Kush side of the house.

That must be Kelley, I recognize her photography. :) Cool beads!

WELCOME beautiful, healing, and patient soul. :welcome:

Last bit of research for you Grandpa... THANKS PW for the lead :)

Strain info for UltraDog. This looks to be a hybrid of the "ChemDawg" series of genetics. Here is what I was able to capture that was relevant. I didn't find specific info on UltraDog but I did look up the other growers and here is some great info ..."

"Chem Dog is an OG Kush/Sour Diesel cross. It is a 70% indica marijuana strain that won 2nd Place in the International Cannagraphic-420 Growers Cup in 2008. It boasts very high THC production levels.

Chem Dog is best cultivated indoors using either SCRoG or LST to control growth and maximise yields. In a nine week flowering period up to 800 gr/m2 can be yours. Outdoor growers will discover a multi-branched plant with long inter-nodal spacing. By the end of the first week of October in northern Europe it's possible to harvest up to 1000 gr/plant dried weight.

This strain's high THC level has been recorded at 21.51% with medium levels of CBD at 1.5%. The combined effect of these figures gives rise to a very long-lasting, narcotic stone with marked perception alteration. Be warned, it is very strong indeed! It has therapeutic uses as a treatment for chronic pain.

I'm impressed. You only needed one guess! LOL! Those beads are truly awesome. Thanks for all the info you dug up, sis. I love chemdawg... So every derivative of it I'll be good with.

Words that came along with the UltraDog seeds....
Wow what a complicated Journey this strain has. Sounds very very interesting, as all the genetics are ones that I like and help my physical conditions. Thanks for all of that, T.

I just love reviews from first-person experience. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to do that,, VS! I'll take ANY yield I can at this point. .

I want to take a minute and offer up my congratulations to Our member of the year, PennyWise! There is no one that I can think of that is more deserving of this title. He is one of the main reasons that I continue on trying. PW...I I want to thank you for myself and all of these others that you help on a daily basis. You seem to be everywhere at once, and I really find myself wondering when you sleep... If at all :hugging-face:.

Okay everybody... It's time to start the second Journal and see if we can do a little better. I know I am going into this with a much better plan. For those of you from the last grow, I am still waiting on the final delivery of our stuff. We also have to clean out the tent.
Judging from all that I learned on the last grow without asking the real pertinent questions, be ready for a lot of pics and a lot more questions. Everybody joining This Journal that did not follow my last one... Please consider yourselves welcome, speak up when you wish, and take a comfortable chair and help yourself to the cold cokes and we cheesy poofs.

Even though the seeds have not been planted yet, I will update this thread as things occur. Kelley and I hope and pray you enjoy the journey. God bless, everybody!

Oh this is going to be a great grow! I feel it in my bones! GL!

Recently, the public works folks removed 46 tons of hollow plastic beads from storm drain basins along the parade route. I'll repeat that 46 ton number.... just to make sure you know it's not a typo.
Beads flow like water in our world baby.... and water can do some serious flowin down here. I got bags of beads around every corner.
New Orleans is not build on the best land. Very unstable. Houses often settle over the years. The local bit of humor is that I have so many bags of beads in my attic that my house is sinkin into the swamps. Perhaps now my humble abode will sink 1 nanometer less.

That makes two of us...:pumping-fist:

Can I be number 3? So much dedication, passion and the most patiënt I have seen People around here.. you grandpa are going to rock This grow! So Lets go for Some Nice meds . with so Many great People like PW you Will do fine!

And If not, let me know when Its summer over there ill take my sunlotion and a pair of scissors that are sticked to my fingers after harvest Hehe.

Have a super Positive day gramps!

Well...glad we're glad we could help ckeep your home above ground awhile longer. .
That's crazy, man! How does any water flow at all? 😉

You bet, NS. I would say that PW AND many others...yourself included, are why we keep on going. That and my stubbornness as well. I want to be able to truthfully tell anyone who is blind or even visually impaired that they can do this. And then... Help them do so, as a serious extension of what you all have done for me here. :thumb:

Progress report...

1. Light is programmed. We even managed to set it for the sunrise/sunset feature.
2. Found the Osmocoat.
We will be preparing the Hempy within the next 3-4 days, barring more uncontrollable issues.
I have decided to use the one Growant light, and then turn on the Mars Hydro for bloom. The Blue Kush photo and the Blue Cheese auto will be started in the meantime. After soaking for 24 hours, the auto will go directly into her final pot, and the photo will be going into rockwool. The rock wall will be soaked for the same 24-hour period in water that will be pHed to 5.5.
Aaaaaa...liftoff! :young-plant: 😁

Go gramps Go! You've really got this dialed in brother. Great job. I'm hoping the hempy will work wonders for you
