Grandpa's Second Try - Come Join Us!

Knowlege is power, and when it comes to helping others or for the health of communities, it should be free. I am glad this community has been so kind and helpful. It gives us hope that the world is still full of good people. Watching or reading the news sometimes gives one the impression that its spiralling into chaos. I am certainly humbled watching the generosity if this community. :high-five::420:

You are 100% spot on with that comment UA, I give up watching the news, when I do my blood pressure goes up!:laughtwo:

A major part of the problems in the world are exacerbated by all of the news organizations, if they don't have conflict...they don't have news and 24/7 of the same thing over and over again gets tiring fast!:thedoubletake:

Don't get me started on the news media. President Trump has it correct. Fake news! And there bias is obvious every time you turn it on. I am forced to watch these news outlets daily. I watch a number of different one and it seems that Fox News Network is the most accurate and shows the most balance between the sides. Okay... I am off my soapbox. I don't want to start a huge political disagreement on this thread. LOL!

If you get it, I might suggest the new guy on the block (newer network) out there called OANN (not on every cable service yet; ch347 d-tv), it's news without the high blood-pressure. 90% of their air time is just news, only 2 commentary shows 8-10pm at night, the rest is straight news and they stick to the facts or just who said what (both sides), and don't have guests, just an anchor for the hour reading the news without opinion.
I only mention it because like you I can't even...anymore with 24x7 non-stop repetitive crap on the others. I found OAN and in like 1 random hour (be it 1pm or 3am) I get the top 2-3 stories of day without the embedded bias and overtones, and 20 other stories from around the country\world that nobody else even bothers to cover, from hour to hour they'll swap the order of the stories and maybe throw in a random one that wasn't in prior hour etc... it's a nice variety without talking heads and they stick pretty much to the who\what\where\when\why. /steps off soapbox as well.

Good morning, everyone! Our internet is now fixed, and I can post these pics. Kelley has even gone and named them. Number one is now called Emma, and number 2 is called Elsa. I will refer to them in this manner from here on. Anyway... Here they are.

We have given them nothing, not even water since they each sprouted. I am lifting the pots daily to check the weight. They are still rather heavy, so nothing today.

I am not able to contact the makers of the Earth Juice nutrients. The emails return back as being refused by the server, and I cannot find a phone number anywhere. Therefore I am still clueless as to a schedule for them. I'll keep trying...

They are looking good and with you armed with knowedge they shall be well looked after. The good news is they wont need nutrients for a few weeks, and more good news is there is plenty of folks on here who have used earth juice and can help you out with the feeding schedule. From most accounts those in the know only use a quarter to half the recommended feeding regime...those companies are trying to sell you their product after all.

So the chart says to use 1.5 tsp grow, 1 tsp bloom and 0.5 tsp catalyst per gal starting out. I wouldnt give them anything now but thats what it says. Then weeks 3-4 of veg add 3-6 tsp grow and 1 tsp catalyst per gal. Weeks 3-5 of flower add 1.5-3 tsp grow, 3 tsp bloom and 1 tsp catalyst per gal. Then i guess the last 1-2 weeks before you flush add 3ml bloom and 2ml catalyst. Feeding everytime you water in those weeks is what it says.

I wouldnt follow the chart.. just gives you an idea of what to do. Curious as to what you come up with. Also i hope i looked up the right kind.. its the earth juice origional formula with grow, bloom and catalyst right?

UA...thanks for the encouraging words. I had read a few threads at random, and regardless of the brand, people are using a quarter to a half of recommended as you say. I just need to know what to start with and what you continue with as the growth increases, and which to stop as she goes from Veg to bloom. I am also needing to know when to use or if I use the Micro Blast when growing autos.
IT...thanks for taking what I know was a lot of time to look up and post that. Unfortunately, I am using Micro Blast and not catalyst.. what you posted is the perfect format for me to understand, I am just a little in the dark about when to start the micro blast with the other two. And, obviously, when to stop it.

Good morning everyone. Nothing much to report today, as the girls show no sign of wanting anything that we can tell. I'll post some pics when Kelley wakes up. she says she thinks she has figured out the timer as well. Lifted the pots and while still a bit heavy, Emma may need some water. I will wait and let them tell me before I do though.
Still searching for that feeding schedule..

Never mind on the timer. It is not figured out yet. Also, I'm told that Elsa is very very short and close to the dirt, so we cannot get a side view of her yet. But, that said, here they are.

Any ideas on why she is staying so short?

On the shorter question, I'm sure the experts abound could tell you but my first 2-cents:
A couple things come to mind.
A) maybe just hasn't kicked into gear yet - give it time
B) strain\genetics factors.. some stay shorter
C) Getting, different amount of light, or needs less atm for whatever reason.

My CCane and WWidow were like this at the beginning, one was clearly growing taller faster (ww), while the other was always like inch behind.. yet growing bigger fans, she eventually hit a growth spurt and for the most part have caught up, but the CCane's nature is shorter and bushier anyway so I've never worried about it beyond week 2'ish when she really kicked into gear. IDK, I don't think I'd worry about it just yet so long as you're seeing progress.

They do weird stuff when they are babies, she'll get things figured out in her own time. They look healthy and happy for now.

NH...Elsa sprouted two days later than Emma did. There's also the possibility that she was buried a little deeper. I thought I had buried them equally deep, but who knows? As far as the strains are concerned, they are both the same strain, which is blue Trickle.
When the second LED arrived and is installed, we'll see what they do. I am also told that her color is a rather deep green. As far as Emma's color... IDK. Will keep an eye on her and I will post it daily for even the most small of changes. I don't want to be a pain about it, but if there is an issue that can be identified, best to know as soon as you can so you can deal with it effectively. Thanks an awful lot for those opinions and observations. They help quite a bit. :thumb:

PW...it appears you may be right about her. Kelley says she looks better today. Her pot is a little heavier than Emma's, so we are keeping a sharp eye on Emma and looking for a little unhappy Wilt with leaves pointed down. Then she'll get her first watering.

I think I may have figured out why Elsa is smallish. She is two days behind Emma and her pot is still rather heavy with water while Emma's is getting light. So, between those factors and the possibility that I buried Elsa deeper... There you go, unless I'm mistaken.
kelley told me that they both look happy. In her word... Beautiful. I'll let you all be your own judges. Please let me know, even though they are still only one week and the other nine days old.

IT...the light is here, and in wonderful shape. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts! I already placed a little more fan on Elsa to do just that. I don't think she has any dry spots at this point to go looking for water, so she will probably be left pretty much alone for a few days.
