Looks good to me gramps! How does her soil feel? Looks like she could use a drink. Remember your higher temps and lower humidity will dry the medium faster :)
Yeah, I had that in the back of my mind. She was transplanted three days ago, no... 4 days ago, and got want her to run off. I can't imagine her soil being that dry yet. I will check on it later, though. Thanks for the heads up, MD.

4 days is about as much as I can get out of a 3 gallon container, but thats with full growth. You might be able to get one more day out of it (and I am all for making her stretch her roots to get that water) but 5 would be the max I would go before watering again. Remember, on your next watering, go slow again. Don't water her too fast, let it soak in slowly to get full soaking.

May I add some sensory insight perhaps...

1. Just like in your previous grow (cause you're a lifer now...lol) water around the perimeter. Use your technique of feeling for the soil line with your finger. Then follow your finger with a light tip of your water. You can even just water your finger since you have no additives to harm your skin. Kinda like a directional water fountain. If you already got this mastered, please excuse my brain rambling...hahahaha

2. I have some daily maintenance for you to try. Now with your nutrient laden soil, your little girl edges of your leaves are slightly burning because they are touching the nutrients in your soil, thus making them turn a bit brown and crispy.

When I had this problem, daily, I would just lightly lift the leaves, hold them momentarily and let them settle down. Each time I did that over a short span of time they stopping touching the soil because they grew.

This is why you brushed off the nutrients from your leaves in the first place, avoiding this type of burn in the middle of your leaves, good job. Not to worry about the crispiness, those leaves will eventually be replaced with new growth. Just preserve what you have until the plant tells you to remove it by overgrowth.

I just want you to feel the condition of your plant, and give you a description of what YOU should feel, and what I see. This is a great sensory to feel the edge of the slightly damaged leaves, lift them gently, hold them, then let them be. Be fragile and talk to your girl. My brain loved just doing routines to learn by feel.

Again, if I'm totally way off Grandpa, please just throw some cannabis at me and I'll go pipe in the corner again...hahahaha

All in the spirit of seeing with your hands. :circle-of-love:

Awesome.

Don't let it dry out too much gramps . but you got this bud . To bad we could t get that humidity up a bit more for veg for ya? Roots like humidity. Think of cloning how those roots grow when in the right humid warm place they thrive. Weeds are hard to kill. But helping dial that enviroment in will allow the plant to thrive. Besides that bud Doing good sir .

You got an army here to help .

I just lifted the pot and it's quite heavy still. I hesitate to give her any kind of watering at this point. I know that top looks dry, but less than a knuckle down it starts to get moist. Back in a little while with a report.

To you have any thing to put on top of medium gramps maybe something to help maintain moisture on top to allow a more even drying process? I dunno thinking bout loud here ?

Good me talking whacky ...

If there is weight in the pot Gramps, don't water. Trust your scale in your hands, its all I use for growing in soil.

I was getting ready to hit the sack, it's been a long and frustrating day. As I was getting ready to put my phone away I found this article that I find quite fascinating. Maybe you guys will too. . I'll post individual responses to all of you tomorrow.

users have more sex, study finds

Christopher Ingraham, Washington Post

Regular marijuana users have about 20 percent more sex than abstainers, according to a new study from researchers at Stanford University.

The study analyzed data on 28,000 female and 23,000 male participants in the National Survey of Family Growth, a nationally representative CDC survey of Americans age 15 to 49. It found that women who smoked marijuana daily had sex with a male partner an average of 7.1 times per month, compared with 6 times per month for nonsmoking women.

Similarly, men who used marijuana daily reported having sex with a woman 6.9 times per month, compared with 5.6 times for nonusers.

Those findings held true even after the researchers controlled for a number of demographic variables known to affect sex habits and marijuana use.

"The overall trend we saw applied to people of both sexes and all races, ages, education levels, income groups and religions, every health status, whether they were married or single and whether they had kids," author Michael Eisenberg said in a statement.

Further bolstering the findings, the study also found what researchers call a "dose-dependent relationship" between marijuana use and sex frequency: as respondents' marijuana use rates increased, so did their frequency of having sex.

The study does not, however, necessarily indicate a causal relationship between marijuana use and sex. "It doesn't say if you smoke more marijuana, you'll have more sex," Eisenberg said. For instance, people who are naturally inclined to have more frequent sex may be predisposed to marijuana use, rather than the other way around.

Nevertheless, it does seem plausible that a causal effect could be at work here. Some qualitative research published in 2016, for instance, found that respondents generally said that stoned sex was more pleasurable than drunk or sober sex. A 2003 study also found that over half of marijuana users said the drug was a libido-booster, compared with 26 percent who said it inhibited their sex drive.

"In humans, sex is not only a means to procreation but serves as an important source of physical pleasure and expression of emotional intimacy," the Stanford authors write. As such, a fair amount of other research has found a link between the frequency of sex and overall physicaland mental health. People who have more sex, on average, are happier and less stressed, they have lower blood pressure, and better cardiovascular health overall.

This underscores a key point about drug use. We all know the risks associated with marijuana use – dependency, impaired driving, decreased academic performance, etc. But when discussing drug policy we rarely talk about the benefits of drug use.

That's partly by design: for decades, research into drug use has been focused almost uniformly on drugs' detrimental effects. This bias is baked into the very names of the institutions that fund much of this research – it's why we have a National Institute on Drug Abuse, rather than a National Institute on Drug Use.

For pot in particular we're just now starting to understand some of the potential benefits of the drug, including euphoria and relaxation, pain relief, lower rates of opiate dependence and domestic violence, decreased use of more harmful drugs, and, apparently, better sexual health.

But policymakers' discussions of how and whether to regulate drugs like marijuana rarely take those benefits into consideration.

You just keep on going with the sensory suggestions, G2H! They serve for not only helping me learn, but also remember what I have learned. Thank you very much!

1. Believe it or not, that is how I have come to water almost subconsciously. I do feel around the outside of the pot, and pour the water over my index and bird fingers. I find that I disturb the soil a lot less this way. Also, it gets a little bit of water in toward the middle of the pot, so I am more sure of getting and even watering over the top of the soil. It's really impressive that you even thought of something like that. Most people with site don't even consider things like that. Bravo, big sis!
2. This indeed is a great way to get some input from the plant for me. I started yesterday, and went to do it this morning, and I was told that they are not touching the sorial this morning. I did it anyway, just in case. :thumb: .

Nothing I can think of, other than maybe a damp towel. But then I become concerned about bugs underneath it. Never know about them Critters. I don't want to encourage their presence. Great thought though, KJ!

No worries there. I have actually been trying to let the plant tell me what she needs. When I felt the pot that heavy, I put all thoughts of watering out of my head. I will wait for her to tell me when she needs it.

*phew, I have to question my advice a million times before I give it. good to know it's useful

*Thank you and you're welcome. I hope you will continue to do ALL the watering from now on, so you can feel the difference in the stages of growth. By doing the watering all the time you're going to know your soil inside and oil, plus it will cut down on the bending for Kelley. Is that something you can do from now on Grandpa, or are you already doing it?

2. This indeed is a great way to get some input from the plant for me. I started yesterday, and went to do it this morning, and I was told that they are not touching the sorial this morning. I did it anyway, just in case.

*Okay great. This exercise you can do once a day when you check her out. I will give you the reasons why I'm helping you to train her.

---------------------------

*Sensory Goals

*1. Keep her leaves off the ground - light touches tell you if she is healthy easy to move - or trouble if she is crispy of burnt and slightly crumbles in your fingers from touch. (we covered this already)

*2.Feel the condition of your plant for trouble or just good growth. Lush green healthy, dry crisp no good. (we covered this already)

*3. Eventually she is going to grow and you're going to have to lift her leaves to get water under her. Much like lifting her skirt gentlemanly (tehehe) so you can water her under her skirt. Of course I'm visualling a huge plant for you.

*We all have to get under our plants to monitor soil conditions and they ask you to feel the weight of the soil before watering. So we have to take our fingers to feel the soil because that is how you access information from the roots first, leaves second.

*In the early stages we are catering to the roots first. The plant is a reflection of what the roots are doing, but noone can see the roots at all. This is where your senses will soar because you are used to adapting with your hands. Not everyone is like that and they just go with what they see before they touch the soil, my downfall in the beginning. But I have learned the answers are in the soil & roots first.

*4. At the very end of this grow, everyone will be able to tell you tons of things about your root ball when you expose it and you'll feel that and remember that is what you want every time. So again, that one technique starts with the roots and ends with the roots.

*5. Lastly, this technique I'm hoping you will get used to approaching your plant from the bottom first, because, eventually you're going to defoliate your precious girl. And in most cases, you'll be taking leaves off from the bottom before you touch any leaves that get direct light.

*So when you get used to lifting her daily, you'll know the placement of the leaves and stature of your plant pretty darn quickly. We want your plant to reach for the sky. Her leaves should pray for you and by giving her that lift, that is also going to show you which warm leaves are in the light, which leaves are cooler down in the shade of the plant much like under a tree. Where it might not get the proper light it needs and could be taking valuable energy from the leaves and flowers that need it the most.

*I'm hoping you'll feel a little bit of the stalk harden as it grows from sprout to stick like rigidness.

*Keep up the great work there, and thanks for letting me ramble. I have finished some other research I did for you guys on your medical conditions I will be posting that next. Thank you for humouring me, I'm blind in my brain in some ways, so I'm just trying to figure things out. I appreciate you let me share in your journal, it's a safe place for me to learn too.

Much love to you and K

I will definitely be doing the watering from now on. Kelley will pH the water. I wish they made a meter that would tell me the reading, so that I can do that too. Not even Amazon has one of those. But that's all right. That's not a difficult thing to do physically.

You are 100% correct on doing these things daily. I do lift the pot daily, and now lifting the leaves has become part of that ritual. I'll try to pay more attention when I feel the leaves, and see if I can't start detecting the difference in the temperature of their surfaces. I'm sure that won't come in until later, but the sooner the better, I always say. Obviously, I will check for crispiness as well. Will get a pick up tomorrow so everyone can see how things are going with their eyes. Thank you again! You simply Rock!
