Grandpa's Second Try - Come Join Us!

Man I've been hearing slot of peeps tap water is up around 300-600 ppm out tap insane .

Mine is about 120 out my tap.

Ppm part per million

Add nutes in between and stick your ppm
Meter in it, each time you add trace elements or base nutes watch ppm increase ?

Ppm Plays an important role growing cannabis in short , it shows you what the plant is eating and how much essentially .

Here is an example for you to get an idea how ppm levels should be at certain highs and lows during the different stages of a plants growth.

This is ppm for autos not photos ...

I know what you are saying KJ, that is why I went to RO, besides the coffee tastes better!

Grandpa is using a reader app for the blind, so the links and pictures you post he cannot see, but basically to interpret for them, take your base PPM and subtract that from your total PPM'S schedule.

I have not found a real good guide to go by when growing in a soil mix, Fox Farms state that all the basics are available through out the entire grow, all you need to add is for the flower stage, but auto's and photos are a different animal, also the basis is RO water, so one has to really read the fine print because the hype makes it sound easy.

I always go back to my first grow in 1974...I over watered the hell out of them thinking more was good...my plants looked a lot like Grandpa's, alive but sickly looking until I gave up and didn't water anymore for a couple weeks, they started to show me that more was bad and less was good...look at the leaves, if they are reaching, they are happy, if they are droopy they are hungry, that was just tap water back then. :laughtwo:

All of this info is Just Awesome! By the way, we went ahead and placed a bowl of water with a towel hanging out of it to help improve humidity. We will get readings of Rh as soon as we can get the humidity sensor working. You asked for pictures of the leaves on a close-up, and here they are.
This is a picture of the leaves as they are new on the plant. Nice and green.

Kelley tells me that they look this way even in as short of the time as one day.

And with this, this old man is heading to the bed. My back and my shoulders need medication. I am also very tired this evening for some reason. I thank all of you again for chiming in and helping and trying to figure this out for us. You guys simply... Rock! .

Grandpa, using the TDS or PPM pen is simple, turn it on, give it a few seconds to zero out and stick it into the water up to the first ridge, hold it there for about 30 seconds or until the reading on the display stabilizes, and the is your PPM's.

TDS is total dissolved solids, also known as PPM's (Parts Per Million) or EC (Electrical Conductivity) Your pen measures PPM's which is a different scale than EC, but all equal the same result...how much natural or added elements are in your water.

Hell, there may be so many people in your city growing and flushing stuff in your city's system that you may not needs any nutes! ;)

Are we going to try a different water supply? Thanks in advance .

Really want these girls to come back to life

OT...lol. would that be nice? I couldn't get that lucky... LOL

King...a different water supply may not be possible. Our income dictates that we have maybe $10 left after bills every month. Sometimes, about 30 or 40. Any equipment or things we need will have to be saved for. RO water would be great, but it will have to wait for a little while. Will get the ppm's later today when Kelley feels up to doing it. She has been feeling so crappy the past few weeks because of thyroid issues. It'll be fixed soon, but we have to do these things during the limited amount of time that she feels decent.

I have to say WOW!!!...again. you guys are the latest people to offer to offer to do something like this. If you want a testament to the wonderful people here on this site, just read both my journals! I do have Pay Pal, so I will be happy to send you guys my email address if you truly wish to do this. I will do some researching. Thank you so very much for being willing to do this for us!

Pm me as well, Grandpa I can't do much right now but I can help a little

I'm not fully caught up on this journal yet, but I agree it looks like a lockout. Also, grandpa is growing in soil with organic nutes right? I would suggest adding raw humic and fulvic acid to the nutrient regimen. It will help considerably to stabilize pH in his soil while also chelating the available nutrients and making them easier for the plant to take up.

One other thing grandpa, how often are you watering/feeding these plants? It might be a good idea to run a few wet/wilt cycles to allow the roots to better fill your soil. If you have a well established root zone, it will go a long way to create a plant that is better able to deal with issues.

You guys and girls all have the biggest Heart I have ever seen. You amazing People!

Grandpa, I think you Did enough Nice Things for Things to Come around for you. Enjoy This little love overfloat!

I cant help out like that, Tho Its amazing to follow .

420magazine is definitely a testament to the humanity & altruistic community spirit that this wonderful medicine can inspire. I'd say it's easily the best community ANYWHERE on the Web :)

Kingjoe, Derby and Horti, this is the type of stuff that makes this place what it is. I commend everybody for stepping up to help a brother in need. Thank all of you in this thread for showing what this place is all about. Much love and respect! .
What makes this place what it is is watching people who have never met each other coaching others on to become as good as growers as themselves or even better without hesitating to jump in helping with their individual talent. Go to other sites and look to see if others are as open to try to help. It's just not there because the best is here and if me as a new grower can help in this way well count me in
