Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

Wow! Very nice. @Lewydeville The blowout didn’t contaminate that very much whatsoever. Looks fantastic! You know I’d hit it! Twice!

I just had to squeeze something myself...wait, that didn’t sound like it did in my head. Enjoy! :cheesygrinsmiley:

OK, I now have a functional rosin press, instead of a sculpture. I did a test squeeze of 3.5gm V.C.D.C. that's been curing for five months with a 62% Boveda Humidity Pack at 190° and ≈3750 PSI at the pump...

Leavings on the Plates

I am officially disappointed. The parchment broke under the puck letting some rosin escape. I recovered 0.19gm of rosin or 5.4%.:sorry:

Before I go on, I need to get some decent parchment paper. Then I'll need to play with temperatures, pressures, and time to see if I can get better results.

Amazon, here I come...

You’ll get better with every squeeze! I’ve had it run off the paper a few times. Wahooo, more squishin!
:yahoo:

I bet it tastes primo. Doesn’t look like the bag broke; just the parchment? Whatever...I’d hit it! :bravo:

Just the parchment broke. I robbed the wife's baking supplies. I guess the quality just wasn't there.

I'm going to wait until I get some decent parchment. Doing the same thing over again will just get me the same results.

Have any of you guys isolated the THCA before? Watched a few interesting vids on YouTube and thought I might get some low micron bags and give it a go.
Pedrosgrowroom on IG just posted a tutorial on making solvent free sauce. Sauce contains high terpene full spectrum extract as well as high cannabinoid full spectrum extract (diamond crystals).

I think he uses dry sift (kief) and you have to low temp press I assume as to not decarb the thca (what turns into crystals) into thc

I’m eventually going to try making some of this ‘Sauce.’ Have you ever sampled any? I’ve heard two different stories but both enjoyed it. I want to taste it.

Edit: Thanks Dabs!

Believe it or not, I did the exact same thing on my first squeeze. I still break bags, rip parchment, ooze some on the plates, curse, etc. Even more reason for me to keep growing this magical plant. :headbanger:

It looks like you had your puck to far towards the crease of the paper and possibly a little wrinkled spot. No room for the puck to expand when compressed. I squeeze with the puck in the center of the flat paper. You need overhang N,S,E,&W... and possibly stronger paper.:passitleft:

Says he uses dry sift material

Press set 100° C and oven at 225°F with lid on to build pressure. Pressure isnt necessary but speeds reaction times.

@Grandpa Tokin yes I've smoked me some diamonds and sauce finally! But not rosin style. It's pretty much the best way to smoke dabs. I imagine the rosin version is better than the BHO versions

Whoops heres the link....

Apparently you want to use rosin with a buttery consistency when isolating the THCA. I’ve ordered some 25 micron bags so I can try it on the weekend. Quick question to the pro rosineers. Which are the best bags people are buying?
