Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

OK, I now have a functional rosin press, instead of a sculpture. I did a test squeeze of 3.5gm V.C.D.C. that's been curing for five months with a 62% Boveda Humidity Pack at 190° and ≈3750 PSI at the pump...

Leavings on the Plates

I am officially disappointed. The parchment broke under the puck letting some rosin escape. I recovered 0.19gm of rosin or 5.4%.:sorry:

Before I go on, I need to get some decent parchment paper. Then I'll need to play with temperatures, pressures, and time to see if I can get better results.

Amazon, here I come...

How about doubling up on the parchment just in case one breaks? Might get you pressing until you get some paper you’re happy with.

That's not a bad ideal. I may leave a few extra pieces beside the press...

I'm not too worried about it. My next harvest is about 2-1/2 weeks away, so six weeks until it's cured. I have enough meds to take me through. It also will give time to recover from the dreaded 'lack-o-funds' disease, and get the rest of the equipment I need. I need a 50 X 0.001gm scale, and the Cannalytics THC Test Kit to accurately prepare my meds from rosin.

Yeah Bobby I have a dab press on the way. Just ordered it this am. 6 ton package and went ahead and got the tool kit also. $550. To my door.

You won’t be disappointed Derby. Its a great piece of kit.

I don't think I need anymore than this. Was going to buy the bigger plates and buy a 20 ton press but I have access to big presses at work for my farming work. This is a nice dedicated unit for one thing only. Rosin squeezing. Lopin and I are trying to figure out which nector connector to get yet. Decisions decisions. Where does it end. Bankruptcy lol

Apparently you want to use rosin with a buttery consistency when isolating the THCA. I’ve ordered some 25 micron bags so I can try it on the weekend. Quick question to the pro rosineers. Which are the best bags people are buying?
It's personal preference, I like the shape of a certain brand, they tend to sit upright easier on the press. It could also be my technique.

that paper looks thin, however like @BobbyZ it does look like the puck was up against the rear crease. Give at least 2cm of overhang.

Tried 420 sponsor Dulytek for a set of collecting tools. Very nice high quality product for a reasonable price. Highly recommend if anyone is looking for a set.
