Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

This morning with coffee I tested the Hash Rosin I made yesterday. First hit took about two minutes to hit, very pleasant indeed. Second hit, now very stoned!
The Rosin itself is much thicker than the Rosin from buds, actually tough to get out of the cup/silicone jar. Very dark, the two hash's mix together, finger hash and the Afghan have a very pleasant fragrance and the inhale and exhale are very smooth on the lungs.

My apprentice is coming by today, we are going to use the FECO I made for him into gummy bears.

It can make a huge difference. My next trip to COSTCO I’m picking up the big roll of the cheap stuff though. The only thing that I watch for is right at the center, where the puck sits, it can leach silicone apparently. I don’t scrape the center. Plus, I try not to smash it beyond recognition...

What I noticed yesterday was that when I press a puck with the Raw "good" parchment, it leaves this, what looks like something has been removed.

When I make another batch of Rosin I will use the cheaper Reynolds brand and see compare the two brands.

I understand what you are saying about the decarb in boiling water, but when I was making the oil last week and decarbing it the boiling water way, the oil never seemed to get much above 210 degrees.
This morning I was put in contact with a friend of a friend who lives in AZ and makes Rosin and distillates for medical. We had an interesting talk and from listen to his methods for squishing we are fairly aligned in our methods. For decarboxylation he uses the hot oil method in a silicone bowl that he drilled holes in to attach a handle so it can be removed from the hot oil with not problem. He said he puts the silicone bowl and floats it in hot oil, heats the oil up so the bowl heats at the same time. When the temp stabilizes at 225 to 240 he adds the Rosin. He did stress to not let it go too long after the bubbles have subsided or the THC begins conversion to CBN which is mildly psychoactive but causes sleep. So it is sort of like letting you buds go heavy amber in the trichs. Did not get to talk to him about his distillation but will do that at a later conversion.
So my bowls should here tomorrow and looking forward to giving this a try.

Now it is time for my gummy bears, don't like doing them before I finish my coffee as the coffee taste like shit after sucking on the gummy's.

I'm still figuring it out...lol

What temp u pressing at?

190 to 210 depend on the strain and how much flavor and fragrance I want to save or if I want increased production. This last batch I made for this decarb was done at 210.

How long a press?
1 minute pre-heat, 3 minutes press time. I try to not apply to much pressure to the squish so as to not break the bag.

Ok I'm ignant....lol

Pre heat? How do ya do that

So yer not pressing at max pressure?

Pre-heat - pressing the puck some but not completely letting it sit to heat up internally the press.
No, max pressure for me burst the bag.

Ya my parchment busted both times yesterday

Cool, great Info, I'll try that

Got my bags last night, some Raw parchment landing today to try, and got my @Dabpress toolkit yesterday asss well

Nice kit!

Was on sale and the bags where free, plus 10% off everything

Worked out well, pretty happy with everything

Temp seems to run about 10f low so far, but maybe it's still kinda breaking in

I'll do a couple presses today, once I find a good fold of the parchment that works better

Exactly how I do it. I place the puck between the plates and press until it’s firmly seated for 1 minute or until I can see and hear some oil sizzling. Then, the next 3 minutes is a very slow press. A few slow pumps then wait. Rinse and repeat. When it starts to Ooze I usually stop squeezing—maybe a few slow squeezes depending on the Oozes. I try not to squish too hard and let the heat and pressure work together. After awhile you get to know the feel depending on your machine.

I'm used to the Slug.33, which is a slow crank and heat

So I kinda figured some, but the not fully squishing it is good info I didn't know

Tired and lazy today, too much FUN and activities yesterday...lol..and maybe a bit of beer and dabs got consumed...lol

So just started folding to papers, and gunna weigh out two strains soon, then SquishMcSquishy them

Can see the video and hear the Rock & Roll to go with the light show!
