Glookies, Echo Thrive, Monster Crop

Oh man. That sucks. I haven’t had a hermie problem with Glookies, but am also switching strains for different reasons.
This is interesting? After a good few runs what would be the reason for swapping?

Week 11 day 75. (Late update)

So after further investigation on the genetic footprint of glookies, it appears that it is the gorilla glue 4 (GG4) was cloned and created from a hermie plant meaning anything with GG4 in it has the risk of doing the same. So it appears that it's not as out the blue for glookies to hermie it's doing exactly as its programmed. Still a little miffed that barneys do not explain and warn this on there description.

Anyway moving along! The hermie is still pushing out a few male flowers but since spreading her out to fill the gap left by the plant I pulled down it makes it increasingly easy to be able to check back node for any of these. The rest of the plants and canopy got a good defoliation removing so much greenery and really showing the full potential of the amount of bud these plants are pushing out and the trichome production is off the scales! Light penetration is now on point, I also super cropped the centre plant on the right side of the tent as it had stretched a bit too much, pushing the light higher off the rest of the canopy and casting along of shade. The tip burn has near enough disappeared so back to the teas for the girls. SST on a Monday and AACT on a Friday and just plain old water on the Wednesday inbetween. SST has changed to mung bean and corn only from hear on out and AACT is the original flowering tea. All bottled addatives have stopped (biowetter, ignition, silica) only one that continues is magne-cal as glookies is a calmag cow!

Haha we will see I hope not as I'm now in week 4 of flower 5 from flip so fingers crossed it works lol. Hmmm your not the only one to say this I have heard mixture of reviews defo love or hate situation. I mean the smell they are pumping out when I piss them off is so different aswell so I can only guess the taste will be the same. Gunna jump over to your girls see how they are coming along later ;)

That’s funny. This strain really does increase its smell when you piss it off.

All 4 I’ve got going are the sativa pheno.
They are noticeably less bushy, and also have a much more traditional “skunk” smell when “pissed off”. They also stretch “up” quite a bit more.

They increase in odor when they get thirsty. Mine should start showing flowers any day now.

Week 12, day 78.

Nothing much to report this evening everything is looking dandy the plants havent flinched from the defoliation. Buds are starting to pack on the wait and drink alot of water. Up to 3ltrs every other day. Today was SST day with added seaweed, tricor (fungi booster) and a touch of super thrive. My super cropped branches are already turned round and facing up.

Was looking through the mulche to see what's down there and the amount of surface roots all over the straw is insane. Soon left that alone! Lots of baby worms and lots of spring back eggs and larve around. The soil is truly alive! The only thing I need to kick is those fungus gnats getting on my tits!!

Just had a good read through what I missed dude. Seriously contemplating dropping the Glookies, this is worrying.

Seems you’ve had some troubles through out the flower side with gnats and this crap with the Glookies. You’ve still got some fantastic looking plants dude, I think your still be doing bloody well at the end of this.

IMO I'm still seriously pissed at barneys farm for not highlight this I will get the email out that they sent me aswell. Its up to you glookies1 the guy who's bee advising me and has grown this strain 3 times now hasn't had 1 as of yet so its pot luck.

Yh fungus gnats luck would have it only mess around with the top 2 inches of soil so by the looks of things most of them are in the mulche so no biggy I have some more predator mites, neem oil and sticky pads should kill the rest of them off. It was my own fault ignoring them when there was only a few. They breed fast!!

The plants the selves epic! Trichome production is off the chart and the plants I can see will be heavy yielding although is it worth the risk. Purple punch, blue gelato, tropicana banana and strawberry lemonade are my strains to pick for next time.

Yeah it’s disappointing from Barneys to do it. I guess with it being one of the biggest yeilders on there website they wanted to keep it.

Have they sent you details on other strains? Maybe it’d be best getting a list off of them.

Yeah your plants do look good. Such a good looking canopy. Still think you should bump that light a little closer. I’m running at 8 inches now to the final stretch. Plants have sat comfortable with it for a week now. Due to not having an even canopy I’ve raised some of the shorter plants too for the final few weeks to give them some better light.

Yeah, I haven’t had any hermie issue.

The strain does yield well, but not as well as Barney’s would lead you to believe. At least not indoors.

To get the yields they’re claiming you’d need to be outdoors, or have ungodly amounts of lights and environmental control indoors.

It does side branch like crazy and is covered in bud sights, but the bushiness makes it near impossible to get light through it.

The one sativa pheno I have may be an exception. It’s much less bushy. We’ll see how it flowers out.

It’s certainly a potent strain. Very resinous.

You’re due for update photos. Lol

Good evening all! I've been debating all week my head spinning out of worry that the second hermie will go round humming every other plant and knocking them all up! Yes it's a beautifuly structured plant but is it worth the risk?

NO was the final answer so this evening she got taken out.... and I'm glad I did. I found a fair few pollen sacks I would have never seen and caused a whole shit storm of trouble. The plant itself had awesome potential the amount of bud that would have come from this plant would have been insane! Barneys I will never forgive you for that one. The one bonus that has come from this was I was able to check the root structure which I am very happy with thousands of fine roots throughout the pot!

Fungus gnats seem to have slowed right down. I have added sticky cards under the canopy increased the predator mites (hypospis miles) and used 5ml neem oil mixed with 2ml biowetter (soap agent) into 1 ltr of water and missed it over the tops of my soil.

Watering I moved it up to 3ltrs every other day. It's too much my water moisture meter is having a fit and the plants are showing signs of too much water. I left the water today and will check again on Monday. I have a nice tea brewing for them.

Probably a good call pulling the hermie. Look at the bright side, you’ve got some early “test bud” to try once it dries. Lol

Buds look like they’re fattening up. How far into flower are you again?

Yo guys!
Yh its defo one of those things I hated to do it but now it's down its alot of stress off the plate, just hope its wasnt too late. Will let it dry out nicely and then on the cure for a couple weeks will let you guys know the results.

As far as where she is in flowering I consider today the start of week 5 flower +1 week adjustment week so depends on how you look at it. The buds are starting to plump up it was surprising how heavy the buds were when I cut the plant down. Certainly impressive. I'll be giving another update this evening.

Does anyone know of a good sprayer that wont get clogged up all the time? I use compost teas and alike and its forever blocking up. Any ideas guys?

You count flower time like I do. Your plants look great at 5 weeks in, this stuff bulks are the end, you’re in good shape.

Cheers @Glookies1 good to hear that from someone experienced with glookies for sure! To reach my goal I'm aiming for 4oz a plant hahah! Impossible but we will see what we get.
