Glimmer Grows More Autos - Blue Dream - Amnesia & Dark Devil In Coco With MH/LEDs

GG your plants look wonderful! I have to agree with everyone else and that it's so shocking this is only your 2nd grow! Wow they are fantastic ! Along with the cs treatment and producing seeds. All I have to say is you get it girl, cause you for sure got it goin for you! Congrats on the new seeds also!!!

Thanks so much, Camo! We'll have to wait to see how many seeds I actually produce, but its fun experimenting with it! And I'm excited about the new seeds (as we all are, eh?)

Hey GG good choices on seeds can't wait to see them in action! You think you will ever give photo period plants a try or you an auto grower for life lol. Good vibes your way!

Thanks, lexort -- I would love to try photo period plants, and I probably will after I work my way through some of these auto seeds! I have tons of free Afghani regular seeds from Herbies (I love Afghani as a strain) and would like to grow a tent full of those for hash. Maybe I need another tent, heh heh heh :)

Let me get this straight, you're collecting pollen? And all you need to do is put a little colloidal silver on a midflower budsite? That's a seriously amazing idea glimmer. Jeeze you can now breed autos and start your own strain.. What will it be called, wow this is very interesting my dear. May the weeks roll by so we can see the results and we can help with names or you can have a poll. Haha, really enjoyed that last post... Mad rep+

Aw, thank you so much! Well, we'll see how it turns out, eh? At the moment I just want to see if one of these girls can make some pollen -- some of the pollen-producing flowers have opened but they seem empty. That's probably because I started this process rather late in their development, after flowering had really started. Next time, I'll do it earlier!

Glad your back home safe and sound GG. I'm sure your girls missed you too!

I am SO glad to be home, MzS -- it was a nice trip and Mr Glimmer watered the garden (I think he enjoyed it) but I missed my home and cats and guy terribly.

Welcome home Glim! Your absence was noticeable. :)

I MISSED YOU!

Theres no place like home, theres no place like home..........

Oh, that's SO true. Such a relief to be back home! We found out that our cleaners had come in on the day Mr Glimmer was taking me to the airport and had cleaned our place before I had a chance to remove all evidence of cannabis -- my bong and the GH nutes were all on the kitchen counter! :jaw dropper: I mean, the nutes may be deniable but the bong? heh heh heh -- Mr Glimmer pointed out that cleaners must see EVERYTHING.

That's why it's been so quiet!
Welcome back glimm

Thanks, Yeatster! I've missed everyone!

What lights are you using again? Stuffs looking beautiful here!!

Hi, Krypt! :thanks: It's the MarsHydro 96x5 reflector. I really like it and I want another one!

Welcome back Glimmer , been quiet without you around .
Be safe .

Thanks so much, sonic -- it's been weird not hanging out here every day. But all is well, now :)

looking great glimmer.have u noticed any difference from potting into the final pots:) great looking ladies;)

Hey, beast! I really notice the difference. It's night and day, actually. These girls are so much bigger and the colas are bigger, too -- that could be down to strain of course, but they're all in 3 gallon pots (not 5 gallon) and just knocking it out of the park. Happy plants make a happy gardener :)

Wow Glim!!!
Hats off to you my friend! Some damn fine looking buds and seeds there!!

Bless your heart, WS -- I really appreciate that!

I'm loving all your girls but I for sure love dark devil. You know it's so funny my girl is at 4 weeks and I can already see she is but just long yours! Tall and lanky, totally different than the northern lights sitting next to her lol. Glad to have you back and safe from business GG

Thank you, Camo! Yeah, she's so beautiful. One of her colas has got so heavy (or I've got a nitrogen deficiency ...) that she just toppled over, so she's staked now. Unbelievable plant -- sticky, smelly and that colour ... I was surprised my girl was so lanky, but there are the two phenotypes, and it sounds like you and I got the sativa-y one :) Wait'll your girl takes off, it will blow your socks off!

I'm SO GLAD TO BE HOME!

Maybe I need another tent, heh heh heh :)

I always need another tent, or a bigger tent, and a new light for the new or bigger tent, and some fans for the new or bigger tent, and...

and I think you and I are a lot alike!

We did 5 gallon fabric in our second set of girls rather than the 3 gallon round plastic nursery pots. None have been transplanted. Am I in trouble? :)

We overwatered our 3 gallon pots for like 4 weeks and still got a great harvest out of the first three we've chopped down. Droopy didn't give us alot, but all have been incredible weed from our perspective, best either of us and a couple friends have had in a long while.

I know one thing for sure, 1.5 gallon air pots are too small for hand feeding, it's a part time job.

Anyway, sorry for taking over your journal with my walls of text, feels like we haven't talked since like last year!

Hey, rtk -- good to talk with you! Yeah, I keep thinking about how much more I could do with more room or more light :)

I did 5 gallon smart pots with my first autos and between them being autos and growing in coco coir (which can be done in smaller containers) and my mismanaging of them (transplanting them, for instance) the root mass never came close to filling the volume of soil. That's one reason I went down to the 3 gallon size for this grow.

I'm so glad you've been enjoying your harvest! You guys do a great job :)

Hey GG ! Are thinking about up scaling ??

Oh well, I sometimes think about having a second tent to play with ... :) I don't think I should right now -- I'm growing way more cannabis that I can consume as it is!

what a yummy looking garden :) :yummy:

Man that amnesia xxl looks yummy I can't wait to get mine into the rotation. Maybe ill do Amnesia XXL with my new Hijack and another bigger auto.

Yeah, she's big and beautiful, for sure! Big, juicy colas starting to frost up -- I'm very excited about her!

what a yummy looking garden :) :yummy:

Thanks, brother! I haven't been spending enough time in it lately, but hope to get caught up tomorrow!

This would be the growing bug i spoke of lol

No kidding, eh? :) heh heh heh

I popped a few new auto seeds the other day (I'm so casual about it now that I don't even take pictures :)) I will start a new journal for them when I'm closer to harvesting my current grow.

They're in the wee greenhouse under a CFL for now -- along with three catnip seedlings that really needed more space, there are:

Canuck Seeds Lemon Skunk -- this is being started and grown in a 16 oz miniature bucket for the solo cup competition.

Reeferman Summer Love -- auto version of Love Potion #1 -- being started in a small cow pot pot

Royal Queen Bubble Kush -- also being started in a small cow pot pot.

All are in organic soil -- my first time growing cannabis in soil! For supplemental feeding I have the Biobizz indoor try pack of: Bio Grow, Bio Bloom and Top Max.

If you're not familiar with the Cow Pots, they're small decomposable pots, like peat pots, but made of the solid waste after processing cattle manure. No smell at all, which is cool. I wanted to use a small pot so I could keep an eye on the temps and humidity under my little greenhouse dome while the grow tent is full.

The principal problem with Cow Pots, from what I've read of people using them for cannabis growing, is that they don't break down fast enough to allow totally free root growth in the brief time that cannabis (especially auto flowering cannabis) is in veg. The manufacturers say they'll last about 12 weeks before being totally gone and that the roots will pierce the pots. That's too long for our purposes. But they also warn that the pots will break down more quickly if they are very wet or humid.

So I stabbed each little pot in about 20 places to give spots for the roots to just pass right through and then I soaked the pots for 24 hours which made them quite a bit less firm. This is an experiment to see if I can start seeds in these, keep them in them for about 2 weeks and then transplant pot and plant together right into the final pot, since I can attest to the truth of one of beast's principles of auto growing: don't transplant (and disturb the roots of) autos!

I will also add a few more seeds to this third grow: probably a Dark Devil, a Cream Caramel and possibly a special auto CBD seed I've been given.

hi GG!
I think you could also get a sharp knife, an score the pots?, that would make them weaker, maybe not break down......but break open a little more readily......hope my wording makes sense.

Congratulations on your new editions GG, I'm sure they will be just as gorgeous as your other girls.!

Thanks so much, Mz S! I'm looking forward to these because they'll be grown in smaller containers than I've done before. All part of my plan to get as much variety as possible :)

Congrats on the new children glimm. when do you place your seeds in the dirt after they crack open, i mean How long is the root?

Thank you, Nicholas :) The tap root on the Summer Love just exploded out of the seed -- it was about .25 of an inch when I planted it, I think. The other two had just cracked (no tap root extended) but I decided to see if the rest of germination would happen in the soil for me ...
